  1. That post was also prior to the range nerfs to Hatred (I think). Makes a massive difference when melee can spread DoTs at 30m.
  2. Harbinger is perfect for me. I live in NYC (for reference, Shadowlands is in Castle Hill, Bronx NY) and although my ping to harb hovers at 80, it's irrelevant in this game and especially on that server where Aussies and Koreans are playing with 120+ ping. It's active when I play (it ranges from maybe 8pm - maybe 5am EST) and the quality is at the same level or higher than any other server and until recently (~3 months ago) the attitude was far more tolerable than pot5 or Bastion ever were. Shadowlands is fine, but proclaiming it king simply because group ranked happens to pop there FOR NOW is silly. We all know, and I have stated before, that once the pecking order has been established, people will transfer off that server the same way they left every other server. They'll move hoping to find an easier path to ZOMGSUPERRATING, and Shadowlands will go back to being a stop along the way. TLDR: Harb is where it is NA. If you're playing on Shadowlands you should probably go ahead and reroll on TOFN or TRE ahead of the incoming exodus.
  3. I couldn't buy a pop in ranked (group or solo) during the day on Shadowlands, and the past two nights it's been terrible. So terrible that I... ran a flashpoint. You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts. Solo queue is faster and more consistent on harb, and it has been so for nearly a year. Group varies and has wildly shifted. From Pot5 and Bastion to Harbinger, now to Shadowlands. Where will it go next when all the kiddies realize they are just getting rolled over and over? Your guess is as good as mine, but Group ranked has always been like that. Get beat too much in group? Transfer Servers ????? Profit Yes, at the time you posted this, Shadowlands has group ranked. That is all they have and it will soon go away, just like every other server.
  4. You're insane if you think Harbinger only has a 4 hour prime window.
  5. Harbinger still #1 for pops and balance. Harbinger # (whatever last place is) for stability. It's a give and take. Get your trickery out of here. Shadowlands is a generic Harbinger, complete with a much smaller "primetime" window and worse balance.
  6. I don't give a **** about rating on any character, but when I queue (because that's where the people are playing and the pops are faster at that time) I always try. It's no different than going into a reg warzone and not playing the map; It makes you a special kind of ******e.
  7. Pretty sure they nullified the effects of those in PvP... some time ago. I could be wrong. I frequently am, but I think if you search dev tracker you'll find it.

    JC vs SL

Some of the best. Harbinger still has a good amount of them (though they could be Korean for all I know).
  9. That's Obiray. He did not like his place in life, so he moved himself. He spins in circles alot.
  10. It's no longer Season 4, bro. I kid. I kid. Also, the guides are useful but like every other guide it tends to imply that it's one way and one way only (which just isn't accurate). I refer people to them, but only as a starting point. Thank you for taking the time to write the guides. Without Evolixe and Xinika there has been zero direction for all the FOTM shadows.
  11. I thought it was POWERTECH #1 that could stunlock your keyboard..
  12. You never remove the more popular game modes. Group ranked is probably the least popular of all game modes, PvE and PvP. Sorry Alba, this is not the game you are looking for. Edit: To be clear, if you're still on the "ZOMG CROSS SERVER WILL SOLV ALL DEH PROBLAAAMZ" train, you're sorely misguided. Cross server would only magnify the problem (which is the playerbase). It might be nice for a while but the eventuality is that the "top" teams become established as such and then it ends up just as we have now (and exactly the same problem 8v8 had). The "pecking order" would be established and nobody would queue. It's not a tech problem, it's a player problem.
  13. The rules for this guild are very ambiguous. Are you required to wear a dirty wifebeater? Are you required to restream the stream of your e-love's cam in a ploy to get more viewers on your own stream? (I've confused myself there) Are you even allowed to grow facial hair, or are you restricted to the Sanchez?
  14. Your server does not matter. The two busiest servers for PvP are both PvE servers. I find that people who have primarily played PvE know their best damage-dealing rotation (or healing or whatever), and possess at least a basic awareness. If this is true for you, you will have fewer issues than most players who actually pvp all the time. You'll probably get lit up until you get geared or learn a little more but that's to be expected.
  15. The majority of your post is wildly inaccurate, but I'm going to address only the quoted part. Yes, this is an MMO but it is not the MMO for anyone who wishes to do anything more than log in on a Saturday and play a while. This is more like a "gateway" MMO, in that it is intended for casual players who aren't really into the LOLHARDCOREEPEEN scenes, and it will prioritize content accordingly. It's not really an MMO, and it's not really a solo RPG. It's somewhere in the middle. Thinking that this is a traditional MMO and basing all your opinions on that idea is silly. You will always be disappointed.
  16. No reason for namecalling. Doesn't help him, doesn't help you.. hurts the community as a whole. If he is wrong, then say he is wrong and assert why that is the case. Then leave it at that.
  17. I've often wondered why certain stats are assigned to certain tiers. Why is Alacrity a tertiary stat and not a direct tradeoff for power? Hit harder or hit faster. Why is Crit a secondary stat and not a direct tradeoff for Surge? More crits or bigger crits. And why is expertise in a tier all by itself? Why is expertise not a tradeoff for mainstat? Dunno the specifics of why, and I couldn't possibly know all the implications but it seems like it could work (obviously not in their current forms).
  18. If anyone is doing that high, it was either a really short match or it was against a team that had several healers. All that damage.. still no win if you can't clear the node in some fashion (CC, KB, death.. etc..) and.... Who can afford to miss a damage GCD to do anything else? It might **** up their parse numbers.
  19. I get the point that is made about triple capping. "Hurry up and end this, they have no shot anyway. Let's just farm them and get the **** out of here". However, if "hurry up and get this over" is the attitude that people queue with I have to wonder why they bother. They are clearly miserable and perhaps it's time to find another game. Farming does nothing but discourage the majority of players. Oh sure, there may be those select few who take it personally and find the motivation to overcome said farming, but that's not the typical SWTOR player. What it actually does is reduce the number of people willing to tolerate pvp here, and that's no good for anyone. Fewer reg players leads to fewer ranked players, which leads to more complaining about it. Not all premades do this, and not all solo queue heroes are innocent. One guild is no more guilty than another, but if anything is ever going to get better, people need a chance to learn and they don't learn anything from sitting in spawn the whole match or quitting because they feel there is no hope of winning. I sincerely doubt anyone wishes another team to "play down" to the level of competition, so to speak. All anyone has ever really asked for (even if they phrased it incorrectly) is for the more experienced PvPers to act as if they do want the competition that comes from a healthy and populated pvp mode. This means taking a larger role in the development of that community. You see players like Kre'a (I dunno how he spells it) doing things like organizing pug groups, and when Evolixe and Xinika were here you'd see them write guides specifically for pvp (even if Evolixe was an ******e to most people). We complain and complain about pugs and their general lack of skill and then we give that as a reason why we premade and TDM every game. What most posters don't realize is that the real problem is these players have nowhere to learn. Regs are being overrun by premades looking to wipe everyone and steamroll to victory, and Ranked is full of trolls and **** talking. It really isn't fair to anyone. The premades suffer, the pugs suffer, and the community as a whole suffers. Should Bioware provide a practice zone? Maybe, but we know they won't. That puts the onus on the playerbase. As an aside, I did not mean to imply that you or your friends were terrible players. There are good players there. Unfortunately, as we both seem to agree upon now, those good players get caught up in number chasing.
