Eshmael
Thanks to the OP for supporting this game that much and making all the items via flooding the GTN so cheap for me to obtain =)
Blackardin
If you bought 90 packs, and you're complaining about not getting two items, I have zero sympathy for you. Piss away more of your money in a vain attempt for all I care. So focused on childish retort that you missed the entire point of the thread. Maybe run along and let the big people talk? ;p
Blackardin
Meanwhile in Africa... Children are dying of starvation and the OP is spending a boat load of money on pixelated junk that doesn't even exist. I hope you feel good about yourself OP knowing that! Kids off from school or something? LOL. Honestly, now, apparently cartel coins are causing world hunger.
Blackardin
RNG sucks This is really the crux of the problem. Like crafting, it's just lazy game management. This game has so much potential, but often gone by the boards with the implementation of lazy programing, poor quality control, bad creative thinking, and reliance on such concepts as RNG. How is it lazy, it got people to buy absurd amounts of packs. Not lazy, working as intended.
TrumpetNut
So its getting that time of year when i normally have an extra flow of cash laying around, just so happens i have something to spend them on now. So i figured hey! I had nearly 3000 cartel coins from my sub and collectors i figured i'd buy a few extra. There were really just a few things i was looking for that i saw people had gotten from the packs. The Throne, which is the ultra rare, which i wanted just so can sell it. The only thing honestly that i wanted for myself was a Covert Belt, i really wanted this to complete a look on one of my characters. Well i bought an extra 5500 cartel coins so i can get enough packs to pretty much guarantee that i can at least get my belt. Well it just soo happens that after opening ALL those cartels packs, i still had nothing i wanted....... I've now purchased 33,000 cartel coins (6x the 5500 39.99 group = 240$) and here are my findings XP BOOSTS (Major) Class Mission x2 Experience x5 Flashpoint x6 Exploration x2 Warzone x4 Social x1 Space Mission x1 XP BOOSTS (Minor) Class Mission x10 Experiance x2 Flashpoint x11 Exploration x7 Warzone x9 Social x9 Space Mission x7 Vehicles Rendii Nightshade x7 Lhosan Manta x5 Longspur Elite x4 Ubrikki Sand Devil x7 Ubrikki Crimson Claw x10 Pets Mountain Lizardbat x7 Golden Lizardbat x5 Slate Mouse Horranth x6 Golden-skinned Vrblet x3 Red-Backed Gizka x1 Low Atmosphere Miniprobe x1 Weapons - Crystals Hyperstorm Heavy Cannon x1 Rangehunter EE-1 Carbine Rifle x2 Devastator's Double-Bladed Lightsaber x2 Max-Tac Precision Sniper Rifle Advanced Pink-Purple Indestructible Crystal (End) x 3 Advanced Pink-Purple Hawkeye Crystal x1 Advanced Pink-Purple Eviscerating Crystal x1 Advanced Pink-Purple War Hero's Crystal x1 Consumables Emote: Menace x5 Emote: Intimidate x3 Title: The Cartel Collector x9 Title: The Crime Lord x2 Clothing Elegant Loungewear Bottoms x3 Elegant Loungewear Top x7 Elegant Loungewear Cap x5 Trailblazer's Helmet x4 Trailblazer's Boots x1 Trailblazer's Legs x1 Spymaster's Helmet x1 Covert Torso Energy Armor x6 Mask of Nihilus x2 Other Imperial Banner x4 Republic Banner x9 Glowing Eyes - Gold x2 Glowing Eyes - Red x4 Satele Shan Holostatue x1 Darth Malgus Holostatue x4 Ball Toss x10 Companion Gifts and Materials These items i didnt keep tally's of or any records as i already had a bunch of them. I did note some of the rarer items Molecular Stabilizers x5 Radioactive Paste x10 Enriched Durasteel x80 Ciridium x40 Subelectronic Data Module x30 Biometric Cystal Alloy x110 Alien Data Cube x70 Dallorian Alloy x60 Corusca Gem x5 Nanosilk x60 Lorrdian Gemstone x10 Perfect Yellow Crystal x40 Perfect Orange Crystal x50 Mandalorian Iron x5 Self-Perpetuating Power Cell x60 Smart Cells x40 So recap, I got a boat-load of stuff out of the 90 some packs i opened.... No throne No Covert Belt -- really .... no covert belt, that's like the only thing i wanted! No offesne but what fool spends that much RL money for that stuff? Is ANY of the CM stuff worth it when you REALLY think about it? Is it worth your money? No. If I was Bioware this is the best way to get money...Off of fools who use real money (In huge quiantities not a little a little is fine) cause they make Money easily of of this junk they have no toruble making. AshlaBoga
Thanks to the OP for supporting this game that much and making all the items via flooding the GTN so cheap for me to obtain =) Yes, thank you to all the people who flood the GTN. I bought a Ziost Guardian's Lightsaber for 350k two weeks after it came out. They've dropped down to 295k. Thanks to people like the OP I can wield a Tythonian Force-Master's Lightsaber and a Ziost Guardian's Lightsaber for less than 800k on my Mara/Sent. God bless you gambling addicts! Kenlonis
Yea but its principle ... just sounds to me like you can't control yourself and are now complaining because you didn't get what you want Sort of how like a person at a casino loses there pay check gambling then complains about how unfair it is.. Desolaytore
What a huge waste of money. What a HUGE damn waste of forum space to quote a long *** message and reply with only 6 words. ****.
VegaPhone
Yea but its principle ... The word principle is starting to lose meaning when people use it in the wrong way. Since it is RNG, and you can buy the items you want when you sell the other items. When we dont care about the meaning of principles... we are doomed. Psychological anarchy. ieRAya
something i learn while playing a gambling item is "you must never expecting the item that you want." basicly when you expect something and you not get it, the disappointed factor made your fell more "negative". this thing will give you more bad result and your "negative" will rise more and more. but if you not expecting anything the result you get will not give you a "negative" factor. this will result a more chance you will get what you want without expecting it. i had a very funny example. my friend is very unlucky try several time for getting what he wants. but my other friend try it for first time just for fun and not expecting something supprisingly he got what my other friend wants. this thing repeat over and over again (not always fist attempt though) and i try it my self and it works to. so just try think positively and never expect too much so you will never disappointed what you get. SithInitiate
i actually have no problems with this.. i would prefer bioware offer this separately and charge something like $25 in cartel coins for the throne/chair over that stupid mount with the christmas lights.. but i understand why they didnt. this is no different than someone spending a ton of cash on the WoW TCG just for the chance to get one of the rare in-game items. and so what if the OP spends their money in a video game.. how many of u got a CE? how many of you spend $240 on video games in a month and never play them (thats only 4 $60 releases). give the OP a break. Lyynk
I think a big misconception about RNG is that you have the same chance every single time you roll the dice. So, if it's a low chance to get something, it's not like doing it a crapload of times is going to increase your chance of getting the item. It's still going to be a .001% chance (or whatever it is) every time. But ya, I don't have a problem with this. It's your money to spend how you want, and taking financial advice from people in a video game forum is pretty lol. If it wasn't for people that bought cartel coins, we probably wouldn't have a game to play for much longer. Just my 2 cents anyways, nothing more. No judgement going on here
OsarionRDM
Yeah the chance to obtain the throne is ridiculously low. And Bioware will refuse to fix it to a more reasonable chance. Why on earth would they do that? So the item becomes worthless and thus people buy less Cartel Packs? Sounds like a good way to keep the money flowing... Dyvim
This is why I hate the cash shop. I dont mind spending money when I can get what I WANT. The cash shop packs just make me feel abused as a customer. Like lotteries, RNG cash shop packs are a tax on the mathematically challenged. Why cant we simply buy the items we want? What is so hard about that? They cant make enough quality items? So they feel they have to trick their customers with bait and switch? How about subscribers get access to a premium cash shop where they can buy the exact items they want out of the packs. And then you can charge F2Pers with an access cost to get to the same corner of the Cartel market.
