Asumos Posted June 13, 2012 Share Posted June 13, 2012 intead of just doing character transfers why not take all the low pop servers and merge them into just a few servers? one of the target character servers is fatman, and that server at times has a login que so why should people move to that server and have to wait to play the game when they can stay where they are and play? you have 15 or so low pop servers, take those servers and make 3 or so servers from them and close down the others and bring them back as needed ( if ever needed ) once the character transfers are all done and the servers are dead they will be closed anyways and what about those people who didnt transfer before hand because they didnt have a sub for whatever reason, lack of money, real life obligations they may loose all their work on their char(s). seems to me it is more prudent to just merge the servers, many mmo's have done merges over transfers ( still had transfers for those that wanted to move to a specific server ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Moving from the light population nearly dead game on the Republic side of Lord Adraas to the much heavier and much more lively Republic of Ebon Hawk I felt a thrill. Not only is there more people (People are good!) but there are fast PVP pops and... Most importantly... I am not facing 24/7 the same sets of Imperial Premades in full War Hero gear all the time. And my server just cleared 200 on Fleet in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon, and the transfers to my server is just really getting started. So, no need for us RP-PvEers to go to Fatman. As of now I am going from 1 server to another with basically the exact same population even after yesterdays free xfers to that server from another. Seeings how there are only 4 US RP-PVP servers it seems like they maybe should have just opened all of them to that server over the first 2 days to help relocate people (and possibly made it a whole lot easier to relocate your guild). It would have been nice to see a possible plain PVP server option available (for us on RP servers), or even a character consolidation aspect where they allow you to move characters from xferable servers to servers you have characters on that meet certain aspects (min lvls, legacies, etc. you name it). There are a lot of people in this game that left for greener pastures, I think those people are probably feeling a little left behind by these limited xfers. I'm sure eventually they will offer paid xfers to whatever server you like.. but for some of us walking on multiple servers.. that option seems light years away. Most people don't want to see more characters xfered to The Fatman (or others, communities can be strange in MMOs).. but seeings how I have multiple 40+ characters invested there already moving my old main there wouldn't change populations, just which character I was playing at the time. Shes been collecting dust for months now, I'd love to get back into the middle of the action.. scoundrel style. This is why we think it's very likely that the cap has been increased for destination servers. They are gonna have to unless they want to frustrate their largest in-game population. I would imagine they want to wait to see how things shake out before they do it.. but possibly announcing the fact beforehand wouldn't have killed anyone. I'm still curious as to why they're doing it, I'd love to see the math and projections they used to decide who goes where. They obviously have some endgame/master plan we are not fully privy to. I would imagine they want to wait to see how things shake out before they do it.. but possibly announcing the fact beforehand wouldn't have killed anyone. I'm still curious as to why they're doing it, I'd love to see the math and projections they used to decide who goes where. They obviously have some endgame/master plan we are not fully privy to. There was no queue last night after a server move to there, that's my evidence. And now they just moved 6 more servers over there? You have somewhat of a point, it only ever reached full last night, but no queue I saw.. however.. it was a Tuesday night lol. The real tests will be towards the end of the week!
