If they had worded it better it would have not been as big an issue. Some would still complain, but not as many as saying we don't count as customers to them if we are not lvl50 lol Why do you need acknowledgement from a video game company? It's a game for crying out loud! I could care less if some company thinks I'm a 'valued customer'. I get a mailbox full of junk mail with companies claiming I'm a 'valued customer'. And really 30 days my, wallett would really like that 30 free days since i have just resubbed! I have been playing since day 2 of pre launch I play 10-14 hours a day, every day I signed up 6 months sub How do you qualify me as less loyal or valued then some kid that signs up, space bars to 50, complains on forums for 2 weeks hes bored, cancells for 2 months, then comes back day before 1.2 and gets free month for loyalty and value? Im all ears to hear how you explain this away I have 19 characters, maxed out 6 crew skills, maxed out companion affections, and have characters from level 43 down to 20 spread over 3 servers. Im all ears GZ if you played 10-14 hours every day notice was 40 hours infront(or was it more) so you could lvl 43 to 50 in 10 hours. you failed no reward have fun! You guys are just jealous you took no will to get to endgame so we 50s had noone to team with cos you slackers rolled 100 alts, now we got a reward for it everyone is pissed off cos they didnt get it. If you dont get to lvl 50 in 4 months you GENERALLY are NOT worthy of rewards BW has given cos you are too casual. Allthough i agree it should be based on legacy lvls IMO.... or maybe time played! This is just a lot of complaining from people who are posturing that they play a ton, when I doubt they do. I could care less if Bioware gave me a free month. I have NEVER heard of a MMO company giving out free months unless they screwed up really bad. Maybe they shouldn't give anything out at all if people are going lament on how horrible it is they missed out on a free month. This is a ploy to get 50's to stay who are getting bored of the game and we all know it. So a company that is trying to make money did something to try to make more money...oh my god shocker there. I swear my Marketing teacher was right...we live in an age of entitlement where people expect everything to be handed to them and throw tantrums and make threats if they don't get their way. Everyone feels like they are being discriminated against, that companies don't pamper them for their 'loyalty'. Maybe your marketing teacher should have taught you marketing...by giving away a free month they are saying that they screwed up. They should have had this patch be the release version or they wouldn't be trying to "make it up" to the players. Their choice of marketing the term "Valued Customers" is the problem because it shows their business model is based around end game when they made a game that many players feel is a wonderful single player experience to many of the people that play it. I have no problem with their choice. If they want to piss people off and alienate customers...bravo. If they want to reward the people they see as valuable I say go for it, but it probably shouldn't be at the cost of the casual that has been playing since beta. Rzacron Posted April 13, 2012 Share Posted April 13, 2012 Its been a long time coming, I waited for this game with baited breath, replayed KotOR over and over again, I was so happy we were getting more SW MMO love and it was in my favorite era! But now, there is issue after issue, bad public relations, lack of content, catering for the commercialised cartoon network market, what happened to Bioware's integrity? I never thought I'd say this, but SWTOR is a lame horse, a Beloved and nostalgic horse, but lame none the less, It needs a bullet. I hope it crashes and burns and what ashes remain will get swept up and blown away. They should of made KotOR III, and they should of kept SWG open, what a lesson in bad decisions this joke has become. This has nothing to do how easy or hard it is to get to lvl 50, it has everything to do whether someone who started playing 2 weeks ago and poopsocked to lvl 50 is more valued customer than someone who has been supporting the game since launch. I got a free car check all parts last week i bet not everyone did but cos i spent so much time there with my car i got it... SIMPLE. free month for those actually lvling to 50 and playing the endgame.... you have your playtime worth by doing crappy SP game we pay for content at endgame so we get rewards! I have been subbed to SWTOR since pre-release and rarely complained about any of the decisions the devs had made but the free 30 days has been done wrong if you ask me. Just because my playstyle (I have a lvl 48 and a bunch of alts) I don't get the 30 free days? Bioware is offering 30 free days to anyone that has a lvl 50 no matter how long they've supported the game and they are also offering 6 days to the people that stopped subbing to the game, but nothing for those of us that either don't play as much or make a bunch of alts or both. I realize that very few of you forum goers fall into this category but I think most of you will agree that in addition to those with level 50 characters, all accounts that have been subbed since release deserve the free 30 days as well. It's ironic that this is the first thing Bioware has done that makes me want to cancel my sub and show my appreciation right back to Bioware. You are not entitled to anything They are rewarding those that have hit cap already with free 30 days. If you don't meet those requirements move on. You paid for the game, you get the game, you pay for time, you get time... you pay for collectors you got bonuse items... Having a 50 isn't loyalty, being subbed from headstart consecutivre months is. Either give it to all who subbed during headstart or nobody.
