  1. not having a day / night cycle is still one of the biggest mistakes in swtor's development. they thought it would be cool to not have them, well it isnt. mmo's are fantasy world simulations. Day night cycles are important, npc's going on with their business, maybe even going to sleep and open up shop during daytime including walking from shop to home is good design. having static npc's that just stand there all the time is lazy and bad, there's just no sweet talking around it, every other argument is just the bioware propaganda used to excuse for not having it. (they would never say, they did not include it because they did not want to spend the development costs, they say: we chose to do it because its cooler and everyone who really believes that is a mindless zombie)
  2. I think then it won't surprise you that I am also for the return of harsher death penalties. (because they only come into effect when your playing dumb, which won't bother me that much)
  3. I know world of warcraft did a lot of things that were un-rpg like dual spec or even on the fly respeccing whenever you like with that awful diablo3 system. playing an rpg, impersonating a role is a decision. in daoc you had to kill the dragon with 200 other people and 3 respecs dropped. if it were for me I'd rather have it that way (or not at all), rather than spec this and 5 minutes later that.
  4. I totally like the style and setting. Looking forward to it on live. for your collection: screenshots from a german site (you don't need to understand the text to browse the pictures) http://starwars.gamona.de/media/oricon/
  5. comparing to the bad will get you nowhere in the end. for improvement you need to compare with the best and ideally surpass them. so while it could be worse it could also be a whole lot better.
  6. actually they listened to no one because they thought they were so clever (even ignored beta testers). they would do whatever gave them a higher metascore and clone as much of wow as they can, with little ideas of their own. in the end topping hardmode with nightmare mode and ghostrunning with medical probes was a terrible idea.
  7. just look at the lag in the current smal bg's. current technology forbids larger bg's
  8. I had a warzone yesterday, we were only 2 and the opposing faction was one (who left) so we claimed all 3 cannons and won (yay)
  9. right this is very bad and becomes very annoying when the zones are full (like on ilum during the event) had it bad yesterday on ilum.
  10. QFT. even if they wanted they are incapable (even if they were clever enough -what they aren't- there's no way this game if ever going to support large scale battles)
  11. I would very much like open world pvp and bigger wz's. reality is that this game will never have any of this seriously. just go to ilum and do the gree daily quests. yesterday the lag clicking abilities that did not fire just made me freak out. they can't even get rid of that lag that happens in the tiny 8vs8 huttball ws. so tell me honestly how is large scale pvp ever going to happen in this game ? the game is technically so flawed that it will just never happen. what makes me especially unhappy is that daoc supported large scale battles of more than a hundred and the servers they had probably didn't have the computing power of the phone on my desk. now with the hardware so much evolved it just allows for that much dumber programmers who can't do any better.
  12. at first people chose to stay subscribers because it was said that there would not be much of a difference. you get your additional income from the cartel market that would not have been there in the first place (if the game had continued with sub only) now if this was still a sub only game of course the race option would have either been included in the expansion (most probably that) or the subscription. so compared to what the world would have been like if this was still a sub game we are getting less for for our money now. ok the reality is now another and you are free to play and you can deduct anything you like, just not expect us to react kindly. we are paying a sub and there is no reason why we should not complain when you decide to decrease the value returned.
  13. we seem much alike. If mythic hadn't allowed buffbots in daoc I would have subscribed to warhammer, which I didn't. I also wont touch DA3 or dead space3 and the day I unsub, will be day of the last dollar EA will ever see of me. I'm only on the fence because the race option isn't included in the subscription or in the money we paid for the expansion. lets imagine swtor had been the success it was planned to be and f2p never happened. we would not be having this discussion. am I the one who needs to come up for the incompetence that the success did not happen ? no. I am the one who pays 15 bucks and gets 15 bananas in one case but now only gets 14 bananas for the same amount of money because the supplier has some problems that are not my concern nor my fault.
  14. I don't care about the dyes. The only point that's really bothering me is the race option. I also don't give a damn if this game is profitable or not, since the profits don't go into my account. If this wasn't a free to play game (that has a subscription option I am using) the new race would have been included in that sub. that's the point. I have a sub and that starts to give me less and less compared to an swtor that should have been profitable in the first place without ftp, but then bw should have been as talented as they thought of themselves. they are doing this to us and yes I might vote with my wallet some day, because they are not doing very well at keeping subscribers happy.
  15. no it isnt. you are the one trying to turn this around. I also don't condone murder even though I am against exploitation
  16. nobody is talking about that NOBODY. the existence of murder does not make robbery right.
  17. said it then and will say it now. not giving the cathar race to subscribers is walking a very fine line.
  18. I also think BW is walking a very fine line with excluding subscribers from a new race option. This is no fancy hat or speeder it's a race ! sure you can look at it therefore it's cosmetic, but still the line is getting very thin here and I too was disappointed once more.
  19. where exactly do you have real impact in swtor ? other than a different cutscene the world or anything does not change at all. there is only one thing with mentionable impact in swtor and that whether you chose to break jaesa wilsaam or not. (resulting in the only real choice swtor has, after which you either have the dark or light version of your companion) you don't even have choice in your dialoge other than 1. option that gives affection/ls or ds points 2. the other option. contentwise it very often goes like this. dialogue option 1. we should not have done that dialogue option 2. but what about the droids? dialogue option 3. it good that we've done that answer 1. I agree but let me tell you about the droids (even tho you did not ask) answer 2. I'll tell you about the droids. answer 3. I disagree but let me tell you about the droids (even though you did not ask)
