Zero Skill In Hutball!?!?

Wanted to throw this one out there and see what the community thought.

 

 

Hutball may be one of the first WZ/BG's I've ever come across that (I feel) Is purely CLASS SPECIFIC. There is next to NO skill involved in this WZ. If you stack Sorc's/SIN's throw in a jugg for good measure. You will most likely come away with a win. Am I the only one that feels this way??

 

Also wanted to ask (I speak purely from my own server's Experience of course) Have all IMPs just rerolled SORC's/SINS/Juggs LOL that is all I ever see even out in Ilum now. Maybe the ODD maurader. But 90% of the IMPs on our server are either SORCs/SIN/JUGGs. Cracks me up, Its like **** we have zero skill so lets just reroll the classes that require 3 to 4 buttons to mesh to get anything done. LOL Love it.

Sorcs/sins/juggs may be good ball carriers... but the really important thing in huttball is to control middle to get the ball, and for that.. bounty hunter/snipers are blessings :)

 

Exactly. Except for sorcs being good ball carriers. They're horrible. They can escort the ball carrier though - which is very good since they can pull him back if he gets pushed into the pit, into a fire trap and then stunned right before it goes off, etc. Not to mention bubbling the ball carrier - as I've learned from these forums a single sorc can endlessly bubble people which makes them immune to all damage forever.

 

Regardless, every class is good in Huttball, and its the WZ that requires the most teamwork. The others are just zerg one side then the other until something gives.

Huttball takes the most teamwork and awareness of any of the warzones.

 

This

 

Voidstar is just a playground to farm medals and dmg or healing, Civil war is mostly about moving to the node where the opposing faction is not, huttball takes huge coordination and teamwork to really be successful, if youve never been on a team that can actually get into good positions and pass properly you wont know what im talking about.

If you think sorcs are crap ball carriers then how are assassins not aswell? They're basically the same with the difference that sorcs can bubble themselves.. Imo they're good ball carriers because of their force speed/bubble/knockback - and I agree, as ball carrier escorters they are GODLY

Frustrates me to see when most of the team members are trying to prevent the enemy from crossing the line. If you can see that the enemy can score a touchdown why not have 4 team members stay in the middle...drives me nuts when stuff like that does not happen. :(

Yes, if the enemy cap is a certainty then you need to be controlling middle.

They made a spell in your general tab call "pass" to balance that.

When you see a sorc running ahead to pull is buddy.Don't cry and do /1 Nerf Sorc.

Go next to him and knock him donw. guess what...Most off them are bad player and wont see it comming.

OOOO wait.Jug can charge.Tell your teamate to stop given them free target to charge.

 

what we learn todays.If you remove Charge and Pull.Guess what...you will loose anyways since those good player will win making pass.

 

Short version for Dummies...

Don't let sorc go ahead for pull.or stop them from doing it.

If you see a Jug carrier,dont give him a target.

If you can't charge or pull.Pass.

Please remove Jugg from this statement. 3-4 buttons GD I wish.

 

But as to the rest, ya I agree, the whole game has turned into sorcs/sins vs sage/troopers, naturally I blame BW.

to the op alot of skill? Not really. Just press pass button. Coordination yes if you dont have coordination then sometimes you get lucky and win if everyone already knows how to play hutball. I mean its not like there arent mirror classes. Every ability imperials have repubs have. If your pugging it up well then yea you get luck of the draw. If most rerolled specifically for pvp then they prob did so with huttball in mind. Makes sense to me.

 

Like he said though if you have people that pass and people that spot for defenders and people going on offense (for enemy team) then you will be fine.

So it takes zero skill to run the ball... then it should take zero skill to kill the ball carrier... oh wait.

 

I just wonder if all the people saying the game takes zero skill to play are speaking from experience? Do you play with zero skill and still manage to get through or do you constantly get owned by people and rationalise your own shortcomings buy labelling them 'zero skill'...

 

It is a bit of a conundrum how you can suggest this without either being a perpetrator or a victim.

 

In 1.2 the chips will be on the table... :p

Actually hate Huttball or any pvp in this game. I love pvp and there is some good and bad pvp in many mmos but this pvp ranks with one of the worst. I was in Ilum other night

praying for republic players to kill and first hour very few around then all of a sudden there was a group of them and here starts the gankfest until we got more on our side then I could not believe what I saw they were actually taking turns killing each other in a group to farm the kills for the 30 and 150 kill quests. What kind of pvp is that? Im just totally disappointed with the pvp. I do like the pve and leveling 1-50 but endgame is pretty bad i just hope they do something about it soon or I will be taking my money elsewhere theres plenty of games coming out around the corner and if there are no changes good luck to you all.

-May have a point, however I think there's the theory too that the faction reflects the player type to some degree. I think more casual players play Republic, while more people with past talent in other deathmatch or 1-p-shooter games wind up with more characters on the Imp side. I've played matches with a good Republic team, but it's unfortunately rare. Simple things like having someone waiting to grab a ball reset, getting ahead of the ball carrier, or even teaming up against opponents are sadly not as often seen as with the Imps.

 

The dark side seems intriguing, but how can anyone pass up going commando? BFGs are good for anything. ;)
