AndyColl
A bit more info on your computer would make it easier to help you. What graphics card you using? What cpu you using? And how much memory (not hard drive) have you got? Your best bit would be to turn your graphics down to min then slowly wind them up until you find what best works for your computer. 30+ fps (frames per second) is considered playable. Amarinth
A start would be posting your system specs - your processor, graphics card, amount of RAM and operating system. If you're not sure run a dxdiag test (how to: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Run-DirectX-Diagnostic-Tool) and save the results to a text file, then open that and copy the first 4-5 sections of info here (downto and including at least the "Display" section). Without knowing your system specs, all I can suggest is to make sure you've checked some of the common fixes to improve fps / playability: 1. if you updated from a BETA version of the game you need to uninstall that and do a clean reinstall with the retail installer (either from the account page, from the early access email or using your game discs). Updating from a BETA client seems to break performance really badly. 2. if you have started the game with default settings, make sure you try and turn all of the settings upto high first, then hit apply, then turn them back down to low - the default "low" settings seem to be broken and don't actually perform as they should 3. if you have a relatively weak graphics card and your monitor uses a medium or higher resolution, then try using a low resolution ingame as it will free up performance by lowering the amount of pixels your graphics card has to render - it can often make the difference between unplayable and playable on low end graphics cards. Amarinth
I have bad news for you. With that setup it is not surprising you are getting awful performance and there's not much you can do to improve this. The laptop you have is simply not designed for gaming and bad performance is par for the course. Your laptop has a very low-spec processor and the graphics card is an old integrated intel model which is absolutely terrible for gaming. It simply lacks the power to provide good performance, even at low settings and low resolution. 5-10fps is about the maximum I would guess you'll get with that card. I saw another person ingame who was running the game on a laptop with a similar processor and an nvidia 103m (also a really bad card for running games), and he was getting 14fps tops at 800x600 with the lowest settings. Since it's a laptop the CPU and graphics card can't really be upgraded (even if it's possible it's not really adviseable). So the only thing you can do is get a better machine (or wait until you can) or just put up with the performance and run on the lowest resolution possible. Kalianyia
Ok so i hope that helps yall help me. Honestly all this stuff is an alien language to me... My dad was the computer genius, it didnt get passed down. Processor: Pentium® Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: Mobile Intel® 45 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) Dedicated Memory: 32 MB Several things: 1) Your on a laptop. PC gaming on a laptop _generally speaking_ is a bad idea. Yeah lots of people do it, but it's a pretty suboptimal / expensive experience compared to desktop PC gaming. If your gaming, you should get a dedicated desktop for gaming. Cost less, and will perform better than laptops in the same range. I know this probably doesn't help, but it's the truth. OR you can go buy a new overpriced laptop and pay 50-100% more for a laptop that performs the same as a desktop which cost 1/2 or less the price for the same laptop. Oh and lets not even get into the higher failure rate of laptops vs desktops. 2) Your CPU is not great. It's passable, but not great. Good enough to play the game on, but probably not good enough to play on max settings (even if you had a killer video card). 3) The real problem is here: Your video card: Mobile Intel® 45 Express Chipset Family - is an on board video card. It wasn't made for gaming. You need a video card made for gaming. So your trying to play on a laptop that wasn't made for gaming. I'm honestly surprised the game even boots with that video card. Just to give you an idea how terrible it is - look here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Intel+G45%2FG43%2FG41+Express+Chipset IMO you should at a minimum have a video card that scores in the 1200-1300 range on that benchmark. Good news: Your 4GB RAM is awesome and isn't holding you back. The bad news: Your screwed. You have no hope of improving your experience short of buying a new computer. Again I recommend a desktop with a discrete video card made for gaming and benchmarks at least around 1300. Ideally it would be 2000+ to help future proof your PC. Best wishes! PatrickRagnos
Thank guys. No sarcasm in that. HotNoob
press ctrl + shift + f in game. if the fps is green than your gpu is too slow if its in red than your cpu is too slow. now you'll know what you need to upgrade. however, if you know you have a good gpu/cpu than you could try lowering the resolution of the game to 800x600. also, if you are upgrading your gpu, i'd suggest getting nvidia otherwise you'll probably have to upgrade your powerbox at the same time since ATI's are power hogs. thats my 2 cents. --- oh, ur using a laptop if your looking to get a new one, i'd suggest getting a xps from dell for $900 or so. you should be able to get 120fps on it and 60fps on max graphic settings. what you find in a store will be grousely overpriced, just to let you know. if you want to get one from a store though, some general tips are: 1. intel processor else your getting scammed. AMD processors always overheat, especialy in laptops. this will cause your laptop to periodically shut down, not to mention it will greatly reduce your battery life and increase your powerbill 2. nvidia gpu ATI gpus will also overheat your laptop and intel gpus are usually only ment for display. 3. low rpm harddrive 10k rpm = overheating if you get a 7.2k rpm harddrive in your laptop than make sure it has good ventilation 4. power coord placement make sure the powercoord do not enter near a fan, else it'll wear out fast. i'd suggest you get a laptop with a powercoord in the back, and always face the outlet with your laptop. good luck! Dasffion
Ok so now the question is, where is a good place to shop for a cheap desktop that I can play this game on? I'd start at newegg.com IF you're comfortable with it you can build a system cheaper than you can buy a pre-built. Or what I did was got a cheap comp like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229254 That had a decent processor and RAM, updated the ram further and replaced the Graphics card (since that one is a POS) and got a decent system for a lot cheaper than the same one would be. PatrickRagnos
I appreciate the help yall. I'll definetely look into it. and yes. I have the word "SITH" across my left knuckles and the word "JEDI" across my right. Same way gangster wannabes get the "LOVE, HATE" across their knuckles. It's my version of that, Star Wars style. And mind you it's in invisible ink so its only visible under black light. (I scarred just a little bit but within the next few years it fill fade and it won't be visible in regular light at all)

TiggaHarley
I would also like some help, I know just enough about computers to mess something up and I enjoy gaming. I play World Of Warcraft on the same machine and have no issues. Here's what I have and I will also post the system scan as talked about below: HP Pavilion p6630f: Intel Core i3-550 Processor 6 GB DDR3 system memory 1 Terabyte hard drive Intel HD Graphics Windows 7 home premium 64-bit Can someone please help...... Get a new video card and you would be fine. newegg.come or even bestbuy will have a card that will work. I recently purchased from Best Buy for my 2nd comp(which is well below your current machine) a EVGA 2gig video card for about $180. Game runs probably 500% better because of it. Cant remember exact card but it was DDR5 and TI. EVGA was manufacturer.
Dasffion
You have half the minimum required video memory. Please don't think I'm trying to be rude but it doesn't matter what other games you can play on. The minimum required specs state that you need 256 MB of graphics memory. You have 128. You MIGHT be able to get away with this if you turn everything as low as it can go and update your graphics drivers to the latest version (don't use windows to do this) but I wouldn't count on getting good performance. Also you should put your DxDiag into spoiler tags [/ spoiler] (without the space on the second part and the info between them) so it doesn't take up so much space. PiercerPro
(I scarred just a little bit but within the next few years it fill fade and it won't be visible in regular light at all) Little off topic but professionalism makes me say this. Be VERY careful with blacklight tattoos as the chemical which causes the ink to glow under blacklight is phosphorous, a known carcinogen (causes cancer). Additionally The scars from the tattoo will never truly go away, and you may be seeing them for alot longer than a few years, I'm completely unable to say how long/if at all without physically seeing them in front of me. And before people start flaming me, I am a Professional body piercer and have been so for the last 13 years, owned 2 different tattoo shops and have worked with some of the best and most experienced artists in Wisconsin. Just want you to be safe bro. Good luck with your Puter issues hope you get them all worked out soon.
Wreckcenter
I would also like some help, I know just enough about computers to mess something up and I enjoy gaming. I play World Of Warcraft on the same machine and have no issues. Your computer has an "integrated" video card. This means that it shares the system memory of your computer instead of having its own. This is a much slower way to process graphics on your computer, but it is also much cheaper. It is usually sufficient for day-to-day operations, but not desirable for games. Everything else about your computer should be just fine for playing the game. You have a modern i3 CPU, plenty of system memory, and 64-bit Windows 7 to take advantage of said memory. Looking at the specifications for your computer, you should have 1 available 16x PCI Express slot. Your best solution would be to buy a "discrete" video card, which means that it has its own dedicated memory. This is much, much faster. If you're looking to play the game at under $100, I recommend the AMD Radeon HD 6670. It is low cost and doesn't require additional power cable from your computer to run the video card. For $50 more at about $140, you can get an AMD Radeon HD 6790. This card has roughly twice the bandwidth and should have a significant increase in performance over the other card for only a little bit more. Dependent on your budget, of course. I think either of these two cards will get you playing with minimal investment. For an immediate improvement, I recommend turning of Shadows in the preferences of the game. This seems to offer the biggest improvement in graphics speed for most computer and laptops utilizing integrated graphics. Kytea
Ok so now the question is, where is a good place to shop for a cheap desktop that I can play this game on? There was a suggestion about building your own system. I've built all my desktops for the past ten years, but I enjoy it. If you don't want to learn how to build your own PC (I recommend you do... you'll have a better PC and you'll know how to troubleshoot and upgrade it), here is a suggestion if you want something cheap Dell XPS 8300 Not bad for 800$, and it outperforms my 1200$ gaming laptop which I bought six months ago. CPU Look for an i7 chip with a four digit suffix (this one above is a i7-2700). The four digits suffixes mean it's the latest "Sandybridge" version of the i7, which is a good performance boost. The i7s with three digit suffixes don't have Sandybridge RAM Look for at least 4GB RAM. This one above has 8GB Hard Drive For 800$, the one aboves has a 500GB drive. That's a bit small. For 75$ more you get a 1TB drive, which is more adequate (but not generous). I recommend you take that, making your total 875$ Video Card At 800$ the one above has a Radeon 6450. Now, since you have a good CPU (i7-2600) and plenty of RAM (8GB), you have a good foundation... the most likely problem you will experience for the next 2 years will be the video card. This is where you spend what you can. There are two customization options (50$ for a 6670, 150$ for a 6770) so pick what your budget can afford. Let's assume you go for the 50$ 6670 upgrade, making your total 925$. If you can afford it, go for the 6770 (1025$ total) Now take that 925$ system and compare the core specs to other systems sold by reputable vendors. Your main comparison points will be the points listed above (CPU, RAM, HDD, Video card). There may be other bells and whistles, but they won't matter as much as those four main criterias. Some people will fervently push for a specific brand of video card ... aka nVidia versus ATI/AMD (Radeon)... This is sometimes driven by technical reasons, but most often it's driven by fan/loyalty. This is like Canon vs Nikon DSLRs. You can't really go wrong, they're both good brands. Competitors tend to periodically leapfrog ahead of each other, it's cycle-based. I didn't include things like monitor, mouse, keyboard, wireless card (if needed), etc. I assume you have those already. mind you, the cheaper they (prebuilt systems) are, the sooner you'll go back in the "need-to-upgrade-cause-games-are-slow" mode. Also, pre-built desktops tend to be harder to upgrade than one you've made yourself. For example, pre-built systems may not have the power supply necessary to run future (more powerful) video cards. Or it may be cheap on expansion slots. I remember my mom's HP desktop, it had the RAM brazed on the motherboard, no way to add RAM easily. The other thing to point out is that PC technology price-benefit curves have a point-of-diminishing-return that often makes it not cost-effective to aim for the top notch components. A 2000$ desktop won't be twice as fast as a 1000$ one... but a 800$ will run circles around a cheapo 500$ system. Aim for something between "middle" and seventy-fifth percentile. Aka if video cards go from 100$ to 800$, generally your cost effectiveness would be between 300 and 500$ max. Anything above 500$ would be mainly for your e-peen ego power. I hope this helps Edited January 10, 2012 by Kytea

To the OP: you probably have a friend that knows how to assemble PCs. Bring him over for beer and pizza. Assembly takes 2-3 h. Windows 7 installation maybe another 30-60mins. You'll have a great system and it will have a longer useful life than a pre-built system
