  1. their solution appears to be: "Lets award Legacy perks that allow the GTN/Mailbox, etc in your very own ship!". going from "lobby-type" zones to no one leaving their ship aside from dailies (and the eventual instant-port LFG...casuals will get their way) will make this game awesome for social interaction. awesome, i tell ya.
  2. Figuring it out as we go along seems to be the unquestionable tactic.
  3. considering it takes a few hours to reach 20, if that's your intention, we're only talking about an afternoon to evening of work.
  4. Is that like the, "my little brother was playing. it wasn't me that caused the wipe!!!" reasonings?
  5. You mean your parents should buy 6 months of SWTOR? iloveicarly.....
  6. If you prefer soloing and disregarding grouping...why does it matter what gear other players are wearing. Be solo. Act solo. Think solo. Don't concern yourself with them. That's not solo-enough. If you're going to play the game like a single player game, why care what those playing it like an MMO are wearing?
  7. That's the basis of failure? As opposed to a massive redundancy in spells/abilities, most of which are simply not used and generally ignored?
  8. Rolling Republic initially. (not because of the particular faction but because no one else did)
  9. My sensible response yet. I applaud your clarity and honesty. ...always leave on a high note: Jman, thanks for the que to head out.
  10. No, I know there is more you can get from an online RPG...better known as an MMORPG. I get that. My point isn't exclusive to the act of grouping. It's the entire dumbing down of the genre to suit this mentality of isolation/singular/casual mentality. Is there money in it for companies? Absolutely! However, unless you're an employee/stock holder, who cares? Just enjoy playing the same offline RPG that now has a monthly subscription. Then what genre is next? Ping pong? No too mulitplayer-ish. Monopoly?
  11. Another Johnny taking his golfball and going home. Ok, Johnny.
  12. speaking of "not getting it", I've yet to get a response: such as?
  13. That objective is understandable. However, be careful what you ask for, right? One of SWTOR's biggest complaints is the universe feels too single-player. At some point, you're back to playing the same genre style but now you're paying monthly for it. There's a reason why so many people came to the MMO market. Fundamentally altering why you want to stay defeats the entire purpose. If your argument is "that's the evolution of the genre" my response is that's the fast track the species becoming extinct. ...but what do I know? Just my opinion.
  14. Again with the "lying". The statement I made was prior to your own criteria of "allows me to play online with a bunch of other players while accomplishing tasks solo?". You threw that criteria in that to be more of a rhetorical response. If you're asking me to guide you to a game where you can accomplish tasks solo in this genre...the answer is fairly easy: offline RPGs. If you're asking me to understand the mentality of someone wanting to play an MMO/paying monthly/asking Devs to cater to their solo tendencies and make it more solo oriented...that answer is alludes me for obvious reasons. If I wanted to drive a truck instead of a car, I'd drive a truck. I wouldn't worry about if other people are on the road. You're driving your truck. Enjoy it. Why make the Devs alter the game you're playing when a solution already exists? It's now wonder so many people use the phrase entitlement.
  15. So RPGs of the offline kind aren't a genre? Or aren't a genre to your liking? Because that's the issue...you got your answer, you just didn't like it. I mean, if you want to split hairs for the act of splitting hairs you got me. RPG is a genre in its own right. If you're splitting hairs to simply be difficult...you're capable of acknowledging the vast differences between...say Skyrim and SWTOR.
  16. Is this where I say, "Little Billy is taking his golfball and going home now?" and use a at the end of the message to convey I'm....like...not childish or something? I'm also trying to understand you...and getting nowhere. Perhaps I am, though with this last post.
  17. I'm behaving childishly? Perhaps when calling the opposing view petulant and characterizing immaturity by stating I was "stomping my foot down" in protest still didn't provoke a response in kind...I suppose it's always safe to throw in one last dig with the "childish" tag. Right? Childish. Now that's ironic. I'm sorry, I thought we were both capable of having a healthy debate. My apologies for the incorrect assumption.
