this game is retarded was looking forward to pvping because i enjoyed the warzones a lot while leveling but i get to 50 and realize that the grind for pvp gear is all based around the rng

thats just great, but when you farm 30 or so bags and dont get anything its seriously diminishes the will to play, i dont even want to log on anymore

Random Number Generator. Basically the OP is complaining that he can't get the gear he wants when he wants because of the random factor of such bags.

No, basically he's saying that he wouldn't want to work for a company for 20 years only to be passed over for a promotion by a new hire who won the "manager" lottery. It's human nature to want to be able to plan and reap rewards based on fairly consistent models. People want to fix the PvP problem? You have to go back and start from scratch--a philosophy that isn't part of the current SWTOR playbook. There is no "fix".

Which is why all the casinos in Vegas are empty...

It's also human nature to gamble, and it's also the nature of the world that some things happen that you don't want to happen. Sometimes, you can't have your cake and eat it too - sorry to say.

I agree with you, but I also agree with the poster you quoted. Both have good points. The system is flawed, but quitting or throwing a tantrum because you can't gear up with quick succession is another thing entirely and just sounds like someone feels very self-entitled. The system should be points earned in bg = points spent to gear up. All that would have to be done is adjust the values of points earned versus points per item bought. That's it. Nothing more. The whole RNG system is gone, and the work required to gear up remains the same.

Are you 13?

If you don't want to log on anymore, then don't. Just don't tell your mom you quit (just to make Bioware happy ;-).

Gambling is not similar to gearing a character in an MMO for competitive PvP. Unlike gambling, the player must feel that he is being rewarded in a manner proportionate to his level of skill. Gambling involves a risk (and subsequent high) that may payoff with larger returns than the initial investment. Gambling also requires a reinforcement schedule--even if it means winning a small amount compared to the investment. The lack of consistent reinforcement (ie. going 20 bags without getting a piece of gear) is reason for players to give up.

But my point was this: the issue with the RNG and PvP gearing has a fundamental problem that lies way outside the scope of how one obtains gear. I'm pointing out the futility of this argument because, as we see in every other MMO, there is never a way to sate the need to grind, grind grind. It's a fundamental flaw with this type of reward system. Even with the type of PvP system where PvE player gear and player abilities are used against other players.

"self-entitled" implies a handout, i should be rewarded for investing time and effort in pvp but the rng only RANDOMLY rewards you so you can potentially go on forever never getting rewarded
