Through this balance, they become stronger, to serve the goals of themselves or the Jedi. Sith believe that true power comes from pure, raw emotion, be it anger, hate, rage, love, compassion, fear, sadness, or friendship. This allows them to become powerful in the Force, and break through all their bindings that hamper their freedom, in a philosophical sense. They aren't emo-teenagers.
