  1. I'm having problems doing the Solo version as well and I can't seem to find any info to help. It's frustrating since I did this fight at launch and know the mechanics but things seem a little different for the Solo version. I came back a few weeks prior to the x-pac launch to play through some of the Class stories and was pleasantly surprised to find the Foundry available as a solo instance but I keep failing and would love some advice. I get him to drop the power core and I beat down the adds but I don't see anything to click in the pillars like I remember from launch. At first I assumed it was because it's solo but I must be missing something because every time I try he comes out of the Powercore he quickly kills the Combat Droid and then me before I can kill him. What am I missing?
  2. Maybe they went too far but it's having the Companions be stronger was a brilliant way for Bioware to make the leveling/story part of the game easier without impacting Raids or PVP.
  3. Terrible idea OP. If you can't kill quest givers and lowbies then no higher levels will come to defend the zone so you won't get your Open World PVP. The only thing that will happen is those high level players from the opposite faction will just go around griefing by killing quest mobs, etc. It's also lore breaking since each faction is supposed to have no knowledge of the location of the starter planets of the opposite side.
  4. This is one of the issues many of us pointed out during the Beta. Would Bioware be able to keep giving us content that was fully voiced?
  5. My only gripe is I think a true expansion would have a different story for each class. That's not to say I'm not looking forward to the new story we're getting but it won't have the replay value of individual Class stories.
  6. That would be a bummer. I've grown to like using mods in Orange gear as I upgrade.
  7. Will the Class quests still reward 12 Basic Commendations or will we be gearing new toons primarily through quests again?
  8. Ahh Thanks. I see it now. Level 44 though so until then I guess it doesn't matter. I may try leveling as Immortal for a bit.
  9. What are the specific abilities that make Vengeance less squishy? I thought Rage and Vengeance share the same abilities from Juggernaut as well as Heavy Armor and then have specific DPS abilities in each Tree. I can't seem to find anything in Vengeance that would make it less squishy than Rage. Is there some self heal or damage mitigation I'm missing?
  10. I've been running through most of the Class stories to take advantage of the XP Boost. I've been gearing via Mods purchased with the extra Commendations (as was reco'd on the forums) for each of the Classes and that's worked well. I feel like I'm at the proper Power level for the story quests for all the Classes I've been playing with the exception of my Juggernaut so I want to ask if I'm doing something wonky. I'm level 24 and currently specced Rage. I have Vette as my Companion. I have all Orange gear with up to date Mods and I feel like I have a handle on the skills but unless I'm fighting Weak enemies I need to heal up after each fight and I go through Health pots like candy when fighting named mobs for the story quests. Should I level as Immortal or do the DPS specs just take time to come into their own?
  11. The strength of TOR has always been the Class Stories. It's never been a great MMO at least to me. I played in Beta and got my entire WOW Guild to play here at launch. We all leveled to 50 then most of us left when we realized we had just finished the best part of the game (leveling). I came back when the Epic Story boost was announced just to play through as many Class Stories as possible. I had already done most of the side quests and FP's the first time I played so I don't feel like I'm missing anything this time by just doing the Class stuff. I'll never Raid again in TOR but I do want to play through the new storylines when the x-pac comes out. I think there are a lot of players like me out there TBH.
  12. I totally agree. Playing a female Chiss Operative was the best story experience so far IMO, especially the first act.
  13. I'm surprised they don't sell gear packs like Rift. Gear won't make bad players better but at least they won't be under geared as well. It's out dated gear anyway so just sell FP quality sets that are level appropriate. Seems like it would be a win/win. Bioware gets money and 12X players can have level appropriate gear. As long as current, max level gear is never sold I don't see a problem.
  14. The mistake you made was even mentioning WOW. There's a bizarre hybrid elitist/chip-on -their-shoulder reaction that you get from a lot of posters here whenever WOW used as a point of reference.
  15. The problem is there are two games in TOR. The leveling game with an amazing story to keep you going with some MMO elements thrown in for good measure. Basically what we expected. KOTOR mixed with WOW. Then you have the end game which removes the best part of TOR (Story) and replaces it with a 5 year old style MMO end game. Horrible balance. Poor UI. No Combat Log. Boring Dailies. Boring group content. Bioware spent most of their money and effort on the part of the game they love the most...Story and VO and tacked on an end game that's at the low end as far as other MMO's are concerned.
  16. See I don't understand this line of thought..... People didn't like the abuse heaped on them due to other players using Recount etc to point out their low damage output. So we have people with bad socialization skills using a parsing tool to be rude to someone who is inadequate as a player? Doesn't this happen all across the world in sports? I'm not saying the behavior is anything but immature but no one gets called out because they are doing well in any endeavor. You also talk about Cookie Cutter setups..... So it's OK for a player to use a mathematically sub par spec right now because it's easy for them to hide behind the lack of any real time parsing? Just think about that for a moment. You're saying it's OK for someone to not pull their weight in a team endeavor as long as no one knows better? Holy crap.
  17. Rambling nonsense. a) No one was forcing you to use any UI mods in WOW so if you felt it was laggy why would you use them? b) Crutch? It's a crutch to be able to see what HoT's I have on the Raid and when they are about to expire? Same thing for Debuffs that need to be removed? I'd call that getting the info I need to do my job. I guess Speedometers in cars are a crutch as well? c) Why do you think the added code to allow for UI customization will magically be less laggy then it would be of that code was part of an add-on? d) I can already inspect your gear if you join my PuG. It doesn't take much for me to add up your Gear level. Your add-on fear doesn't prevent me from kicking you for trying to get in a PuG in weak sauce gear.
  18. I have a 30 inch hi res monitor and the Buffs/Debuffs on the Raid frames are unreadable. Since we also lack a text readout of the CD's on Buffs and Debuffs I pretty much guess when to refresh my HoT's most of the time so I'm not sure what you're talking about. The only timer I can see my HoT's is on my Target's Unit Frame and even then it's very hard to time it to refresh them. My issue healing is in the horrible update lag with the Raid/Party Health Bars. I'll see the Tank at 50% Health then he's dead. When I ask what killed him I usually get the response that he was sitting at like 20% health for a while without a heal. So Triage healing is impossible.
  19. I don't think we need cross server FP's but WZ's are a different story. I can't do another Huttball match. I don't have faith that Bioware will ever be able to give us all the UI customization players want so until we get third party add ons/mods to do the job I'll be putting my but on hold.
  20. ^^^ Sums up my feelings now that I've been 50 for a while. The leveling is so much fun that once you hit end game the missing bits are more glaring than in any other MMO I've played. Terrible UI especially for a healer trying to do Raids/Hard Modes. Terrible Crafting system. Buggy Flashpoints/Operations. Horrible PVE and PVP balance. The fact that the best way to gear is through the miserable PVP in this game. Yada, Yada ,Yada.....
  21. Yeah I'm done until we get UI customization. I switched from a 6 month sub to month to month and am going to put my account on hiatus until then.
  22. BIG YES to this. Anything but a text readout for CD's and Buff/Debuff durations in this era is a joke. Espescially with the teeny little Buff icons we get. Oh and INB4 "Unreadable Clock wipes to show CD durations takes skill." or "Go back to WOW if you want EZ mode text CD's."
  23. Remove the side benefit from Evasion that clears all Debuffs. One one the big issues from other players is Cloaking Screen after the Opener. One huge tool used for that purpose is Evasion. It's only a one min CD whcih means it's up for every Cloaking Screen and Concealment Op's just pop Evasion the CS with no fear of DoT's to keep them out of Stealth. Let's face it...it's just too good as a one min CD. It's powerful enough as a means to help "Tank" when needed. The Debuff clearing is just OP and this is coming from an Operative.
