  1. I am in the middle of "Fatal Alliance" book and was wondering how dreads would look on a female sith in game ala Eldon Ax. First google result is interesting yet somewhat close with this update
  2. If you go back to the EA investor conference call that occurred a few months before the free to play announcement, one of the red flags to the decision makers was the drop in casual numbers. (heck just realized I had a thread 2 and a half years ago when it happened here With a F2P and cash shop model this tends to hold higher importance than the hardcore player base. However with that said, subscribers and end-game players are a good thing, as they keep funds rolling in as well. There's been some miscues on that part (such as lack of/buggy endgame content) however such things don't really fall under "catering too much to casuals" except maybe for dev time involved in things like 12xp and companion gift boxes, which is likely very little time investment. Remember this is the company that values simcity/sims/sports titles above swtor, and goes for quite a wide audience. It never has leaned towards hardcore gameplay, the entire driving force of the game seems to be just rerolling alts and experiencing the stories.
  3. You would think. But a lot of people end up finding tor status, and then spread here, twitter, reddit sub, etc. what it states the populations are. Then people join x server, then at some random dead point of the night ask why there is nobody playing. People have corrected TOR server for a long time now, and the updates for it go back all the way to 2012 at least as listed. It needs to be either taken down or explained straight up on its page how it gathers the data and is not representative of actual population.
  4. Another issue this doesn't address somewhat brought up above is how long a server stays near its upper numbers throughout the day, as noted somewhat above time zones play an issue. Harbinger being the unofficial Asian-pacific server though allows its numbers to stay pretty high throughout the dead of the evening most other servers go pretty empty during. While the shading between the second highest and the least may require some fine tuning and testing, I don't think anybody would ever doubt Harbinger maintains the highest population most of the time, and holds a a much higher population grasp over other servers during high pop times. Such is a reason the Harbinger tends to have such frequent server issues
  5. appreciate this being done, a few people used to do this around here now and then. Was curious about Revan dropoff rates now that its been a month. Pretty much sums up the way the order has been known to be for awhile though, (harb-shadow-hawk) but seeing how so many can't even field 100 at various classes, some ANY classes, is pretty bad. I hate to ask what op and wz queues are like on some of those servers.
  6. adjusted the post a bit, added picture. Its not a life or death change. But would be nice
  7. Please make the queue pop alert tell the player whether he is about to join a warzone or GSF match. Unless I'm mistaken, they both share the same PVP queue pop window. Doesn't affect a lot, but those of us with alts and whatnot that burn consumables on such things it would go a mile. Along with those who queue with groups in different areas. This pops up regardless if it is GSF or Ground fighting. Please change this. http://i.imgur.com/G5d9TSu.jpg Thanks.
  8. I still wish Ilum had been left alone, even as laggy and botty as it was. Split the missions it had between there and the Den, while at the same time allowing people to accomplish its missions via warzones like they ended up doing. Maybe I missed it but I thought something was being planned for Ilum some time ago
  9. yes and after that it starts main assets. Basically the whole game is being redownloaded.
  10. They won't bother you unless it's full out botting, and even then right now I don't think they would do anything. I've used them to combine buttons, ability combos (situational abilities such as backstab and stab at same time, so if I'm not behind the person stab still triggers), made space combat tons easier (move ship around/flip all the time for you), chat text for certain abilities, etc... If you don't have a kb/mouse that can do it for you there are a handful of programs out there that can do it as well. Personally I use a logitech G13 and Razer Lachesis There's been several threads in the past about this but most will boil down to EA/Bioware fully endorse keyboard and mice that have macro functionality built in and have adapted control options to use them. PVP is rife with people that use macros, space is damn near bottable as is, PVE is just aoe based rotations.. I could name over fifty people that they're whole playstyle is nearly entirely macro driven. Macros simply ease some burden to allow more enjoyment for less work.
  11. just make a x meter radius around anything interactable that forces a unmount. On that note, when you enter areas that take you off your mount, make those instant as well.
  12. I was posting on my former sub when I was just preferred, but have since subscribed again so don't know if they changed it back. But at launch of F2P there was a thread asking this and other preferred were posting. Also way back there was a few tricks to keep posting rights when your sub ran out, but it only lasted a few days, usually fixed whenever the forums went down.
  13. Grinding space missions are horrible, but doing the dailies for ones that are still green are nice exp for about 10 minutes of work, about on par or better than getting, doing, then turning in some quests. Anyway my daily rotation for chars that aren't 50 is this: Wake up, log in, do space daily Go to fleet, pick up pvp/pve dailys. Wander around for any npc's wanting me while in queue. do pvp daily, turn in. Quest until rest xp is gone Do pve flashpoint daily turn in pve daily log out in rest area Log in into next rested character. Have a different route when I'm using xp stims though. But just above will overlevel you, with only a couple hours a day per character. Stims on top of the above will fly you through content. (I have a 42 I've been stimming, just hit the 3 days /played mark but I could of easily shaved off 6-12 hours. But that is also skipping all conversations and never doing heroics)
  14. yes make sure you are spamming spacebar at all times there is fire coming, as well as using the keys to move. This will negate a lot of shots from hitting you
  15. What he said. Awhile back there was a thread with some useful tips, and using a macro was one of them. Just set up a toggle so it spams spacebar and moves left-right-up-down. Toggle is important so you can quickly stop it when you are in areas where you have to dodge debris. Saves years on your keyboard probably and allows you to just focus on aiming, and over half the shots never end up hitting you. Really important to move AND roll.
  16. way back when you could farm planet comms for roll boxes to get orange belts and bracers, which would go for multi-millions in chat auctions, how I accumulated most of my fortune. Legacy put a stop to those riches though I've turned that around into investing on various materials and items, and release them when gtn prices go up to a certain point. However once the cash shop opened up, you can basically buy credits now by gtn turnaround.. Even without it it's still too easy to not be millionaires via crew skills and putting an inventory worth of stock on the market everyday.
  17. Have half the forum on ignore, though it's mostly the blind supporters or those that think b/w can do no wrong. As others have said go to their user page and click add to ignore/block. What sucks though is when people quote them it still shows up, and their threads still show on the front page.
  18. Way back when, sage/sorcs were virtually unkillable. Between the bubbles, HOT's, AOE's, and their channeled heal, along with noble sacrifice, we could stand in the middle of Armageddon itself and pull through and never run out of force. It was addressed properly, although there was quite a fuss about it.. and I mean a loud fuss. It required an adjustment to play style and many walked away from the class. (If one were to gauge the lifespan of TOR in terms of people leaving over class changes, the operative nerfs were the first exodus, the healing nerfs to sorc/sage were the second) However, I'll say I haven't leveled a healer on any other class. But I really can't see the healing mechanics with expertise get adjusted without further changes to sage/sorc, as it would again make them pretty much gods. For any kind of big change like that, we'd have to see mass changes across the skill trees for all classes capable of healing.
  19. I've been buying them in singles this week (since its cheaper than the pack) and they are working 3 hours for me just fine
  20. Can't speak about the difficulty of the upcoming space missions, but if any of the current ones are found to be hard then that person doesn't understand the mechanics involved. I do them for my dailies on all of my chars, generally when i just wake up, as you don't even have to be paying attention to complete them. The hardest ones are the ones with crap you can collide with, which is more just an annoyance.
  21. Never stick around for mvp, would rather requeue asap.
  22. Consular is the best story in the game hands down. It comes with extreme depth and development, with a lot going on behind the scenes with intrigue. However this comes at the price of less bang bang, in your face story progression. It's the best story, in terms if you were going to watch it or read it. Not so much the best interactive story, however. ADD kiddies won't find much from it.
  23. The gear you get through questing more than brings companions up to where they need to be anyway, doubly so if you put orange gear on them and use crew skills/market to mod them. Lock the need button to the stats to class, I agree.
  24. If it does then groovy, whatever works for personal preference. I've seen every class story, several multiple times, and thus every planet story more times than I even want to count
