  1. yup as a seer I switched to nadia when I got her and spent some comms and time at the bazzar for her, between her DPS and my aoe with force quake regulars go down just so damn fast. Strongs aren't really a issue and single elites are a breeze. However throw in several strongs with elites or multiple elites, it _might_ be easier pulling out qyzen, but I'm still in personal debate on that. Geared up she's a healers dream really, just don't let the glass crack, keeping force armor/rejuvinate+armor proc up is important. On the flip side, I see seers running around with Tharan and just can't understand it.. Yeah having a dps was a relief after so long with qyzen, but he seemed more utility than DPS compared to nadia's pure output and just had fights go on too long with him. So my progression was Qyzen-Iresso-Nadia, perhaps I should have ran more with Tharan as I ended up having to do a ton of diplomacy missions for gifts to max out his affection whereas the others pretty much happen easily in regular gameplay.

    Just a story.

Ah, just kinda had to put it up there. It's been awhile since I had that moment of **** RAAAAGGGEEE, and 5 minutes later laughing about it. Yeah I have gripes with the game.. Most of those, the devs have said are being addressed.. will they/will they to my expectations IDK... like war zones, I've been doing my daily since I found the terminal on the fleet, 1-49 has honestly been fun, but I hear a lot of bad stuff about 50 WZ's but I'll just see when I get there. But for the reasons that I play, PvP, entertainment, fun, this is most definitely one of those early great moments I'll look back on down the line, with hopefully more to come.

Aye.. I had seen imps before, but we both just glanced each other, and kept going, both busy doing our own thing. The time I had an open fight was 1on1 in the bonus area of Nar Shadda, in which we looked at each other and walked away, but I was jumped on by the same person shortly after while dealing with the mobs. Pulled that one out of my hat, but after that it was all peace and quiet except for the war zones I did daily. Given the imp/repub ratio, I had really expected a lot more of the ganks, but they never came. I got complacent.. never again My best gank memories stems from SWG, old days of course. Being overt, and landing into coronet... Unless you had intel, that was always a gamble, and if it was just the start of something, things usually flared up for a good few hours, good times good times.

    Just a story.

Just a little story from a PVP server that had me raging for a moment, but then I realized I've hit my limit today. Time to let it go. Now sitting back with a rum & coke in my hand, I can't help but laugh a little bit, and look forward to tomorrow. So I'm a 47 Seer sage at the moment, but that's not where I began today. I had work off today, and I heard of a potential flashpoint run for some of our lower members in the wee hours of the morning. Usually I'm a late night guy, but the recent down time had me in bed early. So Since 6 AM this morning when the servers popped open, I've been running my quests, as the flashpoint runs fell through. After lunch I slowed a bit, got 3 levels from 44 to 47, and made my way to Voss. So here it was about 9 o'clock, 15 hours (more like 12 after lunch/dinner/breaks) of SWTOR today. I'm burned out, already did my Bazaar run which I usually do before I log out, but decided to grind out a few more quests on Voss. Get to my nearest hub, and take off on my speeder. I'm fiddling around a bit with my companion crew assignments, navigating by minimap, somewhat falling asleep.. I turn into a small valley, and that's when I see the red name atop a speeder, dead ahead. And that's all it took. I instantly remembered I had not taken my buff stims. I had yet to turn on my class buff, Hell my companion's (nadia) helm and shirt were off (erm, for a previous conversation, uses a full facemask+hood and I don't like that in cutscenes, oops). All in a flash it was, but I knew I was unprepared for this fight, not even bothering to see if he is coming at me or if I'm following him/her. I take my mouse and do a 180, I know I'm only about 30s from the quick travel hub that was republic controlled. If I have to run for it I have the abilities and.... After my 180 I see them. "IT'S A TRAP! I had been caught unprepared. All my time from 1-47 having only dealt with one imperial player out in the open had made me wreckless, and I was going to pay. My speeder goes boom and I go flying. Instinctively I force armor myself and my companion, however health bars are dropping to fast... stunned I think so... I need these procs NOW... /clearstun, I'm looking at bars too much, tunnel vision... Lasting longer than I thought I would, how many are there really? A quick tab target to CC one of my attackers tells me one of the companions is 42, but I can barely see my character there must be at least 3 characters + companions, don't know... I try to get off my force speed, maybe knockback... Nadia's complaining that it hurts, I see her go down.. I'm just trying to get out of stun and get armor up so I can at least... no, can't run now.. HECK WITH IT FORCE QUAKE FORCE QUAKE FORCE QUAKE Then I die. Heart beating fast, I realize I just added to my mistakes. I insta-clicked Med-probe revive!!! Bah ALT-F4 I QUIT THIS SUCKS GRRRRRRRRR. A few moments of reflection, I click on the TV, make me my drink, and think it all out. I can't wait till tomorrow to see if it all happens again, damn that was fun. _This_ is why I play on a PVP server. Yeah it was a gank, but it's what I would expect to happen in this game setting. I imagined I was tracked from the second I left the shuttle port, likely was anyway given how it looked. No hard feelings after it's all done, I give them, and even myself kudos, for now I have learned. Had I been prepared, and then paid more attention during the fight, I may have actually got out of that if not won somehow, who knows. I didn't even remember to use medpack, which could have given me time. See yall on the battlefield, or maybe even out in the open. I won't forget this.... you can count on that ~Maxil
  5. datacron hunting is a great example of why you want it off during certain jumps.
  6. maybe the fire is not synced server side? idk
  7. while I am laughing at both sides on this, I get his point, and some people aren't understanding that "their internets" goes through hubs before it goes off in the direction it is supposed too. I live in a Kansas city MO suburb, and our route goes up through KC into kansas, then down into texas, then off to wherever. ISP's have their own routes, some work better than others in this regards. This is why I always ping better to TX than I do to chicago in my games, despite being much closer to Chi-town. However it's a pretty similar shot east or west from TX so both of those groups run about the same ping for me. - Off point a bit, I'm not sure why MO or KS never built large server farms, as a more central location. I think perhaps this may be coming in the future as google is testing it's 1Gbps download speeds in the KC Kansas area. 8. following http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600GGrRbd0dGZf0bMZ0M.1 right now I just dinged 30 on my way to the meditation cave on Tatooine. My current way of fighting is putting force armor on Qyzen, telling him to attack. I force lift the strongest mob, then weaken mind everyone who attacks. Then I mainly just combo together disturbances for force regin bonus along with telekinetic throw, heal up/rebubble Qyzen as needed. Stronger/elite/champ mobs get mind crush into the rotation along with weaken mind continuously as needed. Pretty much use the same setup for flashpoints with guild but less telek throw and more healing. In short, I tend to use Qyzen to take on groups of mobs, while my dots/telek throw whittles down the group. Works well and have no trouble soloing all heroics so far, 0 problems doing anything in game, except for the fact it takes awhile. I was curious if I should be speccing str into Qyzen, as I've pretty much decked him out into all endr/armor gear. Opinions and ideas?
  9. He's right, and not the first time I've seen that report here. For whatever reason this is the only title that's bringing my card 70+ without taking control of the fan myself, surprising considering the low quality of the product. While that is still very well within operational range and not a red flag to me, it demonstrates something wrong with the optimization that will hopefully get ironed out in the future.
  10. When reporting, or crossing paths, we were expected to use ma'am, but in all the ftx we did the female co's made it a point to tell us to just use sir. It saved time and thought processes better used elsewhere. However one of the other posters is right. Most if not all the branches during the 90's transitioned from using sir for both genders, to ma'am for the female co's. . That doesn't mean some units had already switched/preferred ma'am beforehand.
  11. Similar boat. Though I understand whats going on and it needs to be done, it just sucks. <.< Bought the game monday night.. Servers were _supposed_ to go down 4 hours after I bought it, then it was delayed till last night. Lived through that, oh look another downtime today in my prime time. (2a-12a). Looks like the patch today may be delayed till tomorrow as well... Just horrid luck on my part, hopefully be good to go and the weekend will be a blast.
  12. It was pretty sketchy even when it was there. I just google whatever I want along with swtor.com and generally get the pages I need quicker.
  13. Picked up the game monday evening, and plugged into a server I know a couple of people on.. Played the evening away, other than getting stuck leaving the very first room not going to say anything negative yet. (yes, tried /stuck and made a cs ticket, 30 minutes later no response I just rerolled the char) But this morning I noticed it looked... dead where I was. At one point, the starting area said 2 in the upper left. Not doing research yet on instances/sharding/etc, I went to a tool I thought I was familiar with, the social who tool. Just now it said 79.. A quick search told me 100 is the cap on who searches. So am I correct in thinking that is 79 total republic players at the time? At the moment all the east coast servers are light, but for a quick check I used one of the dev posts and checked out fatman, one of the threateningly high load east coast servers. Didn't write the numbers down, but the basic /who went over 100, so I searched by level. Every level range (0-10,10-20, etc. up to 50) was less than 100, so less than 500 republic players at that moment? That doesn't sound like it could be right at all. I would be expecting 2-3000 each faction at off peak times. o.O I know it's less than an ideal time, but I work a swinging schedule so it may be 10pm-6am today but 10am-6pm tomorrow, when perhaps threatened by queues. Am I correct in my understanding? Trying to figure out if I should go for a consistently heavy loaded server or what, the load indicator really does jack squat for my situation. Live in MO but east coast servers always ping better, 80-120, might consider west though. I just don't want areas to look deserted no matter what time, (as a republic), and I don't care if it's pve pvp rp whatever. -- Or maybe I completely misunderstand /who and I'm just being a victim of poor instancing? eh
