  1. I was thinking this the moment the changes went live. Bioware dont make any real sense half of the time, so its better not to think about these things.

    Ilum 2.0

An interesting concept, but I think that would be something they would have to add later maybe. I like the idea of the whole "Hardcore" 1 life and youre out thing, but in a large open world pvp area it would really drag things out. A large scale warzone like that could be really good however.

    Ilum 2.0

Does no one have any decent input?

    Ilum 2.0

I've been thinking about ways to make Ilum better and this was what I came up with: Get rid of the capture & hold objectives, fixed spawn points and get rid of player location notifications. Simple really, because at the moment, all the fighting that happens all happens in the same place pretty much; Central Assault. The actual Ilum pvp zone has tunnels, mountain passes, cliff edges, ice bridges, abandoned wrecks and some other cool scenery. Yet we never really get to make use of any of it. Heres what I would do: Get rid of: Fixed spawn points depending on where you died Control points which encourage predictable zerging Player location messages Add: Random group spawnpoints (7 or 8 to keep the opposition guessing and everyone in group spawns in the same place) Armaments that spawn randomly throughout the entire pvp zone (Hundreds of different random locations) Randomly spawning "Group Valour buffs" Theres so much potential there, but the static nature of spawns and control points make the pvp on Ilum tedious and predictable. It would be nice to be able to send cloaky scouts out on recon in order to find the enemy. You could make use of choke points and caves etc to set up ambushes. Fights would occur in different areas of the map, rather than the same place time and time again. The group valour buff could be a half hour buff that gives you a 100% boost to valour gained or something, with a standard 150 valour per kill within the Ilum pvp area. These are just ideas guys and gals and personally I think they would make Ilum a lot more fun. If you have any suggestions to tweak any of this, throw em out there. We need to give Bioware some ideas as to what we want from open world pvp. We want to use the entire zone Bioware, not just one tiny area.
  5. Like I said, just because your bad, doesnt mean everyone else is. I have no problem completing my daily and weekly WZ quests. Forcing people to play 5 matches even though they couldve won their first 3 is simply retarded. I'll see your derp and raise you a herp derp.
  6. Clown of an idea. What about the people who actually win their first 3 matches? Just because your badz, doesnt mean everyone else is.
  7. I'm not 100% sure these solutions are foolproof but something could be done. I've been lucky today as 9 out of my 10 wins (From 12 played) have counted. Ilum was fine pre-patch compared to this mess and imo they should mix things up a bit. The way Ilum was at the very start was stupid, but a mixture of that system and the current "Kill people" system would maybe cure some of the issues.
  8. The guy working the CS desk isnt going to ring Gabe himself and say "Hey dude, what about this?". Bioware know exactly which in game exploits are FOTM and the "Company line" will be passed down through departments with regards to those issues. Customer Support will know exactly what to say in regards to certain issues and thats why the same response is always given whenever a complaint is made about an exploit. Things like the huttball endzone pull are easy to dismiss, as is Ilum. You will notice however, that if someone complains about the 12 man pvp team exploit, he just wont receive a response. They will ignore it until A: It is mooted for an upcoming patch or B: It is actually patched. Like I said, as someone who has worked in customer support, I know exactly how this kind of stuff works at times.
  9. Ofc they will have contact from the devs, indirectly or directly. Customer support will not just say "working as intended" without someone above them telling them to do so. You can guarantee that CS workers all received a memo telling them how to reply to certain complaints and what answers to give. I've worked customer support in the past, so I know exactly how it can work.
  10. It was always an exploit and everyone knew it tbh. Bioware make a rod for their own back by stating that things are "Working as intended" when they really arent. It was the same with Ilum up until today, as kill trading was "Working as intended" as it was within the game mechanics. They should just be honest from the off but they know full well that if they actually acknowledge something as an exploit they will have to enforce it, meaning bans etc. From now on, if you see something which realistically should be considered an exploit, then chances are it is actually an exploit. So all these links and posts containing Emails stating that things are "Working as intended" should be considered as worthless evidence. TLDR: Bioware wont acknowledge exploits because they dont want to enforce them.
  11. Honestly, how the hell is he supposed to know how long they have been alive? What is he supposed to do? "Hello good sir sith, can I trouble you for a moment. I'd just like to know exactly how long since you respawned, before we enter a fight to the death" Bioware have successfully increased the chances that more people will kill trade. Because you can spend 2 hours killing a sith/rep zerg swarm and you may only get credit for a dozen or so. So the sith/rep get together and say "Hey, Ilum is broken so lets do this in a way where were certain our kills will count" Let the kill trading commence.
  12. So basically, now Bioware are inadvertantly encouraging kill trading. As now its pretty pointless to run in zerging if youre not going to get the kills counted. This means people will create more organized kill trading groups to ensure people actually get their kills.... Bioware, you never cease to amaze.
  13. The only thing they need to do is remove Auto-Facing. Ranged is already easy enough without it.
  14. Some of these excuses are just plain bad. If you play through Corellia properly and dont rush it, you can get 20 commendations easily and thats enough to get you most of your blue 49/50 mods. Theres plenty of solutions, but people like you come out with the same old excuses. Oh and yes, when scrubs like yourself come into high level pvp wearing gear 10 levels out of date, you are a huge detriment to your team. You have more of a selfish attitude than anyone.
  15. It actually only has a 1 second stun. It only stuns for 2 if you spec into it via the Focus tree, but seeing as thats the only real viable tree for PvP, every Guardian should stun for 2 seconds.
  16. Yup, just had some lv50 commando come into PvP with lv40 mods, his highest was lv48. He finished the match with 30k damage. He was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard and after the match I told him in no uncertain terms to get his arse to the GTN or a commendations vendor to get some better mods. Worst case Ive seen so far had to be a guy with 10200 HP this morning. He got a bit of a talking to from most of our team. Dont know if its stupidity or laziness, or maybe both. EDIT: Oh and that 10200 was with the Trooper END buff....
  17. Yes, he will. Oh and btw, your class has nothing to do with earning bags or the RNG element to them.
  18. You can have 200 expertise at lv45.....
  19. Wow, post of the day! Loving this!
  20. Correction: 200 Expertise!!!
  21. GJ on not being a lazy scrub!! ^ This guy will have champ gear in no time, because hes gonna earn it and not spend 90% of his time whining on forums about it.
  22. I love Jugs, big ones, small ones, flat ones, round ones. I just love jugs.
  23. Pretty much agree with this. I always give lowbie teams a chance when I'm pvping on a reroll, as sometimes they surprise you and actually know what theyre doing. If after 2 minutes I realise the majority of them are completely clueless I might or might not leave, depending on the mood im in.
