  1. I feel bad about my previous response, so I'll offer something more concrete than my last post, and this is predicated upon you not skipping too many enemies that involve the quests themselves. You do not have to kill every enemy you come across, not by far. IF you: Do your class quest Do the main planetary story arc You will get approximately 2 levels worth of exp. IF you: Do the above, and every other solo quest on the given planet You will get another level, maybe two. IF you: Do the above, and explore the entire planet, you will almost certainly have gotten the 4 levels in the range that most planets offer. You will achieve this even if you land on the planet 2 levels ahead of the minimum, in most cases. IF you: Do all of the above, it is very likely that you will start to encounter quests that are gray the moment you pick them up. You will notice that I have yet to mention: PvP Planetary Heroic 2's and 4's Space Flashpoints You have said that you don't want to do those things (and that's fine), but I've just clearly shown you that you do not need them at all. I don't want to see you leave, because this game is fantastic. I think you should take what I have just told you, and with what others have also said, and try it again. Do the quests, and don't skip enemies that are directly involved, including the bonuses. The bonuses, especially, add up to a lot of exp over time. The Taris Bonus Series, for example (which I just did at level 38/39, btw), most of the quests gave me like 10k exp, and each bonus gave me like 6k...which is a 60% increase in exp from the same quest. Good luck, Riôt Edit to add: I haven't tracked it, but I'm pretty the sure the exp from having a gathering profession is also fairly significant. Pick up Slicing (free credits), Scavenging, or Bioanalysis. Heck, grab all three, and just gather while you quest, and sell the materials on the GTN for a good price.
  2. I'm usually inclined to help people that are struggling, but in your case, I just can't. Not only have you quit the game (which is fine), but you also completely ignored the several posts of helpful advice between your original post, and your first response. Perhaps this lack of reading comprehension (or reading at all) is the core of your struggles, and nothing Bioware does can fix that. This game has the most casual-friendly levelling experience out of all MMO's, period. Regarding exploration exp - I haven't mathed it out, but it seems to be designed to give you about 30% of one level per planet, if you uncover the entire planet. Riôt
  3. Turn on the vendors flag on your map, and mouse around until you find vendors that say PvP, Recruit, Battlemaster, War Hero. Once you find what quadrant they are located in (the name escapes me), check them until you find the set that has your gear on it. As an example, all Sith Warriors use the same vendors. The one you are looking for first is the Recruit vendor. ~200k credits gets you a full suit, and yes - every piece is probably an upgrade, even for just the Expertise alone. Don't worry about using this gear to do your dailies, as again, it might be a decent upgrade from whatever you are wearing now. The Daily Commendation Vendors - these NPC's are located on Belsavis (at the daily location, not where you land), inside the main base where you land on Ilum, and in the Black Hole area on Corellia. They are called *Mission Support Vendor.* The Dailies - in case you don't know, the dailies on Ilum are unlocked by taking a quest that starts on the Fleet. If you have finished your class quest (required), you should have a marker for this guy. The Belsavis dailies begin with the Belsavis Bonus Series, obtained on the Orbital Station (neither class quest nor level 50 are required for these). The Black Hole dailies begin by talking to an NPC on the Fleet (near the Agent ship elevator, Empire side), landing on Corellia, and stepping outside the spaceport. Immediately on your right is a shuttle - click on the door in the back of it, and it will take you where you need to go. Have fun Riôt
  4. If this is your first character, I would keep Slicing, and put Artificing anything higher than greens on the back burner until you are able to run dailies, or in some other way able to build credits quickly. If this is not your first character (read: you have a level 50 already), then disregard. Riôt
  5. I appreciate the time you took to explain the reasons for the choices you made in the build, but I guess I'm just not sold as to why Immortal can't fulfill the purpose that you designed this build for. Or a full PvE Vengeance or Rage spec that puts on a Shield, and steps into Soresu. It just seems to me that you are giving up a great deal to do something that any of the above-mentioned can do, without giving up anything for the entirety of the rest of the Operation to do it. I think you could make a decent argument for this build in PvP, but I just don't see it for PvE. Riôt
  6. It was a longshot, but I don't have any characters there. The best advice I can give you is to take Slicing, and send your droid and at least one other companion out on Lockbox missions. They return a profit the majority of the time, and it also allows you to pick up credits that are just literally laying on the ground on every planet. It will help, big time. Riôt
  7. It depends on what you want to do with it. If you are willing to put in the time, you can make good money on the GTN, either with crafted items, or gathering materials. I use crafting for my own convenience, mostly - I have a Cybertech who has blue mods/armorings every 5 levels or so for any alt that I make. These alts will now have full Orange gear fairly early on, if I want, which makes this even better. I have sold a couple of crit-crafted War Hero pieces for 300k each, though I don't invest a lot of time on it. If I were going to do it for money (on my server), I would invest in Artifice, and have Prototype crystals of every color for levels 22-4x, and list them as often as possible. You just can't find these things on my server, so I imagine I could easily sell them for 25k or so each. I could do this on my Cybertech as well with Armorings, since they cost so many commendations compared to Mods and Enhancements. I just don't put in the time, to be honest - dailies provide me with plenty of credits for what I do in the game. I'm not trying to say I do it the right way, or anything like that - just sharing my experience with it. Riôt
  8. The deconstruction device requires a power source, which can be found on Tatooine, for both factions. Empire side - the very north end of Mos Ila, not far from the speeder vendor. You are looking for a Jawa on a ramp. Republic side - it's been awhile, but I believe the npc is found just outside of the spaceport city (blanking on the name, ffs...Anchorhead?). Outside the wall, on the northwest? side of the city. Strike 3 for me, as I don't remember the name of the item (something Power Core), but it has purple letters, and costs 8k credits. You can carry more than one, if you like. I have not found this item anywhere else, if someone has, please share as it's kind of inconvenient to go get it, then travel to the assembler. Riôt
  9. While I am not having the problem, personally, if I were, I would take it upon myself to fix the problem by moving to a more populated server, rather than wait for someone else to fix it for me. Trying to recruit people to your server is fine and good, but if you are not wiling to move, why should anyone move for you? Riôt
  10. Attached to your mini-map there is a small button that says *Exit Area.* Riôt
  11. I appreciate all the work you have done with this guide, and I think it will help a lot of people. I use some of the same principles myself, though where I diverge from most people is towards the end. I make an effort to land on Voss around 45-46. If you can do this, then you can do nothing but finish out your class quest (which will leave you at 48, or 49), and then do dailies (probably 2 days worth at most) to finish out to 50. I find this gives a very nice leg-up in terms of commendations, and cashflow for a fresh 50. This should work even better now, with the new dailies on Corellia, assuming they too, do not require level 50. Also, my experience has shown that; Doing your class quest + main planet story arc should net you 2 levels on a given planet. Doing the rest of the quests should net you the other two levels. Bonus series (except for Hoth, because it's so short) seem to give half a level to a level each, and are worth doing. Space is great exp up until around level 35, then I don't find it to be worth the time for exp purposes after that. I just thought I would add some numbers that I have noticed, for those who like to see numbers. Nice work on your guide though. Riôt
  12. If you are on one of my servers, I will buy your speeder for you. I need to know what server you are on, and the character's name. My price? 1) Do the same for someone else later. 2) Teach them what I will have taught you about credit management. Riôt
  13. So, 500 people could move to make your experience better... Or you could just move, and achieve the same goal. Come to Port Nowhere. Riôt
  14. I can't speak for the Republic side of Port Nowhere, but Empire side has decent queues (as of last week) for PvP, and the population on most of the planets I have been on is *ok.* If you are looking for a server where there are always lots of people running planetary heroics while levelling, I don't know what you to tell you. In my experience, it seems not many are doing those any more - at least, not while I am there, anyway. The biggest reason to stay on your server would be any friends you have made - if your experience isn't fun, maybe you can see if they will move with you? If there is no one, then I don't see any real reason not to move to a more populated server, especially since you are not yet heavily invested in your Legacy. Good luck. Riôt
  15. It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong at all. The game is designed to be playable with at-level greens on both you, and your companion. Obviously there are better options available, and it sounds like you are already taking advantage of it. If there is an Orange piece of gear as a reward, I always take it - you can't have too much moddable gear. I usually replace the mods and armorings as I finish a planet, or every 5 levels on the GTN. I always use blue quality mods, if available. Don't worry so much about what other people say - as long as you are in mostly blues (or better) of the appropriate type (tank or dps), then you are plenty geared for any of the levelling content, including the flashpoints. Also, to respond to something said in this thread; I find that ignoring people is a FANTASTIC way to build a network of friends for running flashpoints, planetary heroics, PvP, Operations, and just plain enjoying the game. Riôt
  16. You speak of immersion, yet everything you have said means that you are staring at your character's head, and nothing else. Either that, or you play in first-person mode. While there is nothing wrong with either one, they are the only explanation I can come up with for how it's possible you are only recently noticing the graphic for Smash. This doesn't make sense to me - why are you not watching the entirety of the scene playing out in front of you? Surely, that would be more immersive. The effects are not just for PvP, or even just for PvE - they are there to help you know when certain things have happened, so you can maximize your play without memorization, or staring at your buffs. Part of their purpose is to help you...get more immersed...in the combat itself, instead of the UI. I'm pretty sure there are settings that you can turn down if you want to remove some or most of the ones that annoy you, but I have a feeling it will also remove a great many things you don't want it to. Riôt
  17. I'm sorry if this has been your experience, but mine has been nothing like that at all. PvE and PvP both. The only thing this class can't do is heal - everything else it does very, very well in capable hands. Riôt
  18. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about *the* Draagh fight. Grats OP, good stuff Riôt
  19. If you are fine 95% of the time, then these *blips* are most likely a string of crits by whoever pulled Threat. Also, since you are mostly Rakata, it isn't like anyone significantly outgears you, so that shouldn't be a problem (yet). I would put that first Taunt farther down, so you are getting a larger benefit from it. Using it that quick isn't really giving you much of a boost, other than keeping the boss on you for 6 seconds. Maybe after your Crushing Blow, or with one of the next two abilities after that. Edit: Also, it looks to me like you are using Enrage too early as well. Riôt
  20. Vette > Jaesa, at the end of the day, because she is ranged. Her time to target is faster, and she takes less damage, unless you let more than one mob get to her. That said; Packs of mobs = Vette Single mob that has no knockback or ground AE = Jaesa (if it does have either/both of those, Vette) Anything and everything = you can't go wrong using Quinn (regardless of your spec), just know that you will go slower. As someone else said, Pierce/Broonmark are more for Marauders, though you can gear them as dps if you want. Riôt
  21. If I were going to run PvE Vengeance, I'd probably start with this; http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101MMZcGMRMuddhRZMM.1 Last two points are up to you, for some combination of Deafening Defense and/or Malice. I'm pretty sure this is what Dracosz just said, but this might be more clear. Riôt
  22. I'm not sure what else you are looking for, because your question has been answered farily consistently by everyone that has responded. Riôt
  23. I have seen those, but I need something that has no requirements, other than Light Armor. Thanks though I want some Light Armor pants, ffs. Riôt
  24. You need patience. Lots, and lots of patience. You might not believe me, but even with the best people, you might be surprised how often you feel like you are babysitting. And paying to do it, I might add. Others before me have said a number of good things, so I won't repeat those. Riôt
  25. If I had to cast a vote, I would say Sorc or Sage, without hesitation. Force Speed + CC + ranged dps + heals = you can mow through content. I have seen Sorcs destroy packs at a time with Storm, with their tank pet just holding token aggro, because it just doesn't matter. Perhaps that is no longer true in 1.2, but still. Riôt
