  1. While <E> was waiting around for Dreadtooth to respawn we decided to have a little fun and attack the republic base. We ran around unchecked for a good amount of time until a group of pubs came and pushed us out. Dreadtooth was back up so we cleared him and hung out at the base some more. A few of you guys put up a good resistance both times around. Honorable mentions: Gottvater: We must have killed you 30+ times. Getting destroyed by 10+ people at once within 2 globals never slowed you down once! No matter how many times, you kept coming back for more, even took out a few of us! Nothing like respawning instantly at full health to keep you going. Gaieln: Ate my face when you retook the base. It was the beginning of the end when you guys came in. Took you out a couple of times but we were pretty much wiped clean when you came after me the last time. Pepperpots: Your guerrilla tactics forced us to split group and send companions after you. Zhrex: This guy. This guy! We were laughing our heads off in TS when you'd pluck someone off the ledge. That's what they get for standing too close! Denaal, Plexus, Galoree, Briste, Moore, Mclovinx, Adikia, Semrick, Meeso, Detergent, Mowats, Terrens, Azelia, Olly: <3 I have to tell you, that was probably some of the most fun I've had in world PVP in a while. I have some screenshots I took that I'll be posting later. This might be the thing to do while waiting for dreadtooth from now on
  2. I was under the impression that this isn't in the game yet.
  3. Just wondering. It seems counter intuitive to suggest that you should be using unlettered mods for more mitigation / avoidance and then turn around and suggest endurance goals that require liberal use of "B" mods. Thought maybe I missed something.
  4. Skill Trees Carnage: Strangulation 3 Rage Cost 30s CD Not on GCD Strangulates up to 5 targets within 5m for 1,000 kinetic damage over 3 seconds. Does not damage sleeping, lifted, or incapacitated enemies. The goal is to boost Carnage's area damage. To be used in conjunction with gore + berserk + sweeping slash spam. Annihilation: Perforation 3 Rage Cost 15s CD Requires Annihilator Deals 875 kinetic damage + 5% for each of your bleed effects on the target, up to 15%. More DD based on the # of dots you have. Rage: Piercing Focus Passive Force Scream and Ravage now grant singularity and have a 30% chance of resetting the cooldown on Smash. More smash! Warrior Class: Focus Mastery 120s CD Generates 2 rage per second for 6 seconds More rage!
  5. Healer DPS is a factor in the strat my guild uses to clear EC NiM due to the enrage timers. I'm sure with more DG gear it will be less of a factor but not right now. Given how relatively simple it is to get full campaign / black hole gear, I'd suggest you put in your 2 - 3 weeks and grind it out. I'm told you can RE war hero mods with a cybertech / artificer for stabilizers, so having them crafted might be a possibility as well.
  6. There's a Guatemalan counter-saying that goes something like: "Flies circle vinegar, honey, and human excrement. Find some flies and you find all 3". Naturally, the original saying has more profanity and less language filter. YMMV. This is the real reason I posted. Which encounter were those hp goals centered around?
  7. I have an unguilded level 42, body type 3 female Jedi knight on The Bastion. While on that character, I once responded to Jawa spam on fleet. Does that count?
  8. The solution is simple. Provide a gear vendor that takes the original item as the cost and you can buy which ever variation you like. Similar to the war hero gear turn in that requires the previous piece of gear, except in this instance you're replacing an orange piece with a different looking orange piece. Out of necessity, the item purchased will be bound. Simple.
  9. If you read the interview on this, you'll see that they're not actually using the hero engine for anything other than prototyping. They've written a new engine from scratch.
  10. I just finished this last night and I agree completely on going healing. I've been healing spec the entire time and I find I get in trouble if I take 2 or more strong mobs while dealing damage. The moment I switch over to healing Kailyo it's dramatically easier. I'm seriously considering going with a presence stim instead of a cunning stim (I'm biochem) to beef up my companions and level faster. I'm biochem so switching stims for harder fights is easy. I've kept Kailyo in up to date green gear every 2 - 3 levels with some odd blues here and there if they're cheap. I found she does best if I buff her shield rating instead of defense. I'm hoping once I gear Vector up I might be able to use him instead with blade ward to burn mobs quicker. We'll see.
  11. With max legacy class mission exp perk and major experience boosts I found that all you need is the class mission and the planet mission to be at level with the content. Throw in some random fps and maybe a space mission or two and you're going to over level stuff easily as a subscriber. Hell, I skipped the entire Tatooine planet mission and only did my class mission because I was 28 when landed there. Just left Alderaan @ lvl 32 with only class and planet missions done. It's great since this is will be my third 50 on imperial side so skipping stuff I've already seen makes it much more fun and interesting to see the new stories. The class missions are what makes leveling alts in this game more fun than in any other mmo I've played. I love that they added ways for you to level with just those 2 main sources of exp.
  12. Hello! I'm leveling an operative right now and have been working on buying up 61 pieces with other max level characters to get a head start when I hit 50. Reading over operative forums I see recommendations to use the 2pc PVE set bonus and the 2pc PVP set bonus for healing, most often referring to putting PVE mods in battlemaster shells. Since battlemaster gear is gone, the options I have are between using 4 skill armorings (+68 cunning each) or 2 skill + 2 war hero armorings for the 2pc PVP bonus (+36 cunning each). The trade off is basically +64 additional cunning & 4pc PVE bonus or 2pc PVP bonus & 2pc PVE bonus. What do you guys think? My gut tells me that despite the loss in stats it might still be worth using 2 war hero armorings for the bonus, but I'd like to hear from some 50 operatives using this now.
  13. In similar gear and all abilities set to autocast, Jaesa with her "bleed" stance will out DPS Vette in her "Sniper" stance handily. No real surprise, I suppose, but that's why I stick to Jaesa.
  14. YES! A MILLION TIMES YES! Also, reformatted because I'm OCD.
  15. The best way to know is to run a few parses on a dummy. Swap out mods / enhancements and see what yields the most damage for "your" playstyle. I play Carnage and was surprised to find that going from 102.7% accuracy and 78.53% surge to 100.93% accuracy and 79.26% surge yielded a 50 DPS increase. After 4 parse to minimize player error (7-8 mins each) the 50 dps gap still held.
  16. I can't wait for them to add Quesh to the game. I hear it's supposed to be Hutt themed. Seriously though, the addition of Makeb should give them a great reason to expand on the nothingness that Quesh is right now. It took me about 7 minutes on my Jedi Knight and maybe 15 minutes on my Marauder to get through Quesh. It takes more time to complete the black hole dailies than to get through Quesh!
  17. That was a guess as to what my dark + light totals were. Make it 1300 and 2300, or whatever combination of totals net you Light I alignment. I know I was Light I because of the trinket I was using (and used forever, it felt like). Taking all the dark side options allowed me to corrupt Jaessa when it came time to face her.
  18. If you're looking for an excuse not to use the set bonuses, you won't find one. Every assassin tank uses the set bonuses because it helps us do our job. You're asking "Is shielding 5% more shieldable attacks and reducing damage by 2% actually shielding 5% more attacks and reducing damage by 2%?" The answer is yes. Missing set bonuses and using accuracy enhancements are easy ways to tell when an assassin tank doesn't know enough about their class to understand the benefits. I suggest popping over to mmo-mechanics to find all the numbers you're looking for, including a defense stat DR curve analysis and charts.
  19. Casitus Imardia: Makes me think of an Inquisitor. 8/10 for my own prejudice lol. Korikana Imardia: For some reason not a big fan of this one. Maybe because it sounds more fantasy than sci-fi? 6/10 Avarice Weaver: Perfect. 10/10. Captures a good Sithy emotion! Mine's are: Darth Loc'nar Kvelertak. Loc'nar from the movie Heavy Metal, Kvelertak means "Stranglehold".
  20. When i got my Jaesa, I was Light I with something like 1300 Dark Side points and 1800 Light Side and I turned her dark side. I'm inclined to believe your alignment plays no part in her final alignment choice.
  21. I agree with what everyone else has said. At lower levels (sub-20) my marauder felt gimp. I came back to my marauder recently and let me tell you, at level 30 once you get up to Gore in the Carnage tree it's a whole new game. Like others mention, you start reducing your enemies into a fine mist. The 100% armor pen along with the guaranteed crit to force scream made it so much easier and more fun to level. GEAR GEAR GEAR! I cannot emphasize this enough. If you have / are a synthweaver add some Mk-3 / Mk-4 augment kits (cheap) and put some blue quality augments in. At lower levels, another ~100 strength / crit / surge go a long way. I went with a DPS companion, Vette, to level. I kept her in her AoE stance while I picked off individual mobs and never felt the lack of heals. It works how you expect it to work, stuff just dies before dots would ever make sense. The key to carnage is linking your attacks. A very common combo for killing weak mobs is is Charge -> Savage Kick -> Massacre, then the next mob is Force Scream + Pommel Strike. Usually does the trick and kills both. For strong mobs, Charge -> Massacre -> Gore + Ravage -> Force Scream. When all of the ticks of Ravage crit, it's a beautiful thing. It helps to use cloak of pain, saber ward, and force camouflage often while leveling when you clear bigger packs to reduce the amount of healing in between fights. If Carnage isn't your thing that's cool, just know that it does in fact get better. The more you know ™
  22. Give me paid server transfers. Charge 1000 cartel coins. Go, now.
  23. I remember reading the updates and watching the interview videos for SWTOR years ago when they would talk about companions like they would be a natural extension of the player. One in specific has the Bioware guy saying that if he felt like healing then he could take out his healing companion with himself healing and be a mobile med unit and keep the entire group alive. Alternately you could get a DPS companion and together increase your DPS contribution for the group. Both of those made it seem like companions would be with you through everything, including end game. I wish that had stuck around. Like everyone else says, after you hit 50 and complete your companion story, it suddenly gets very lonely on your starship ...
