  1. We've run this fairly frequently in my guild and have not seen it drop in the 15 or so runs we've done. Keep trying, don't give up!
  2. This, a million times over. Red Reaper was crazy fun when I ran it the one of two times I was able to find a group for it pre-LFG. It was a good challenge, due to mechanics actually forcing you to do more than look for adds and move out of fires. Red Reaper HM could, and should, destroy 50s the same way LR-5 does in Lost Island HM. As Karasuko said, I love lost island for the challenge. The first time I cleared it I was using 2 pieces of Tionese and lvl 22 / 23 epic mods. I think I had 18k HP at the time. We took 5 hours to learn it with melee dps that first time and went absolutely nuts the first time we cleared it. It was deeply satisfying.
  3. Personally, I have two tanking sets. I stack endurance on one, and work for a more balanced approach with defense, shield, and absorb on the other. Reason being some fights favor high HP (Storm caller) and some fights favor higher avoidance (Kephess). I geared for Kephess first, as EC was progression for my guild. I still have 6 Rakata mods I'm using, but everything else is lvl 61. Now that we've cleared EC SM, I'm building a high endurance set to switch out between fights using a bunch of Rakata and Black hole I had lying around since none of us need Rakata. In my avoidance set, I have: 23.2k HP (~25.5k with a stim and buff) 40% Damage Reduction 29.7% Defense (~31% with a stim) 45% Shield 56% Absorb With what I have so far in my HP set, I have 27.3k HP (~29k with a stim and buff) 39.% Damage Reduction 26.4% Defense (~28% with a stim) 37% Shield 43% Absorb I'm shooting for 30k HP and 40% DR, which I'm not too far from. I might even switch out some enhancements to add crit and surge to boost threat eventually, since the HP fights the set is intended for ignore shield and absorb anyway. We'll see.
  4. Yep, that's exactly it! When I look through my logs I see a high miss rate for Sabre Strike, Thrash (though I almost never use Thrash), Lacerate (trash mobs) and Assassinate, which makes sense since they're not force or tech attacks. Everything else I use has a 0% miss rate, as listed above. Here's a sample log: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/combatlog/be368f80-ed4d-41b5-8d25-24d146a146ac/player/1#d=0,b=1
  5. I use a DPS companion, typically Ashara but I switch to Andronikos whenever I get to something that cleaves. Ashara's in full Columi though, with Andronikos in a mix of Tionese and Columi. I use them to solo the H2/H4 missions, with the exception of Torvix. The only time I switch to the healing companion is on the champ mobs for Torvix [H4 daily on Corellia]. The groups of mobs at the end before the boss make it so I can't keep Dark ward up, so if I happen to get some lag he keeps me alive through it.
  6. I did something similar but went almost full defense and some absorb augments. Relics: Use: Campaign Relic of Imperiling Serenity (+ defense on use) Stats: Battlemaster's Relic of Imperiling Serenity (+103 defense, augmented so +121 defense) Completely unbuffed from memory I have about: 22103 Health (24k buffed with stim) 38% Mitigation (Just under 6k armor) 31% defense (Over 500 rating, something like 525?) 40% Shield (55% with Dark Ward) 52% Absorb I just got the black hole chest piece so I gained some defense and lost absorb making my stat balance wonky right now. They way I understand it, I'm at the caps for Absorb (50%) and Defense (30%) already based on this forum post for tanking. I'm waiting until I've bought all the black hole gear to re-augment as the stats balance is definitely going to change, but it might be time to go for HP? I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm if those are truly the caps?
  7. Darkness Spec, PVE. Cleared through HM KP and SM EC up to Kephess. Mostly black-hole / rakata geared. Link to build 1. Sub-optimal for easy clears of operations. Anecdotal, but pre-1.3 I've been declined numerous invitations to story mode operations pugs because I was an assassin, even though I am over geared for those places. One KP group literally took a recruit geared Juggernaut (their words) in my place. They didn't get very far and later on asked me to join in his place, but it took them failing with a recruit geared Jugg before that happened. 2. Excellent for being able to solo content including heroic missions due to stealth, perhaps the best. Weak against fast hitting enemies or very hard hitting bosses (e.g. Kephess in Story Mode, Transgenic Sample Seven in LI HM), typically requiring a Medpac + Overcharge Saber on CD and still getting destroyed on Kephess. A word on Accuracy and Thrash: We barely use Thrash now as it is due to the force cost and lower threat output, and the undesirability of accuracy (as most of our abilities don't need it at all) makes it even less attractive as most of us replace accuracy enhancements with shield + defense enhancements. Energize isn't nearly enough to make us want to use an ability that needs accuracy to be effective and we are literally gearing away from accuracy.
  8. My legacy names are Ätreides (on The Bastion) and Kvelertak (on Prophecy of the Five). Ätreides is from the Frank Herbert "Dune" series. Someone already had the correct spelling so I had to fancy up the first letter. Side note: Have I mentioned how much i love Tatooine? Kvelertak means "Stranglehold" or "Chokehold" in Norwegian. Yes, my first character was a Sith Warrior.
  9. I am opposed to having my PVP server's transfer destination be an RP-PVP server. Why? It's not what I picked when I made my characters and I have absolutely zero interest in playing on an RP server of any variety. I'd be just as unhappy if my destination was a PVE server.
  10. I almost died on him, he got me down to less than 1k HP (not sure exactly, 300 - 600 HP?) and killed Kira, but I managed to get him the first time (Vigilance Guardian). I don't like knowing what's coming up for the class story so I've purposely avoided threads that discuss things I haven't seen, so I didn't know anything about him. Same as any boss, used saber ward, pop heroic moment, ward again after it ran out, used a med pack, victory! I think we all do that. Doable, difficult sure, but he doesn't stick out as an impossible boss. I think I was 25 at the time when I did it.
  11. I see, for whatever misguided reason I was lead to believe that 100% standard accuracy was all that's required for raid bosses. The above was from our Karagga kill in HM KP. It seems that accuracy is pretty much devalued anyway, unless mechanics change. Thanks!
  12. It's more than just the display on the legacy though. There's a specific repeatable heroic quest on Belsavis on Empire (it's not part of the quests that give daily commendations) where the conversation options clearly indicate that the quest giver is speaking to a human when speaking to a Sith Pureblood. The name of the mission is "A Rock and a Hard Place". At the time I was playing a Sith Pureblood when going through the options, so it made no sense at all when one of my responses was "Typical Alien Behavior" instead of non-human option "We're not all that violent". I submitted a ticket on the bug, but I can't help but feel that these two are related. At the end she says something about "We humans have to stick together" which made me
  13. At the time, my Basic Accuracy was ~100.8%, and my Special Attacks accuracy was at ~110.8%. I'm baffled as to why Sabre strike is missing so much. It's the only ability that missed at all.
  14. Hey everyone, tankassin here with a typical 31/0/10 build. I was looking over my log for a pug KP HM I ran this weekend and notice I have a very high miss rate on Sabre Strike ... but that's it. I don't exactly understand how or why, but that seems to be the only ability that I register so many misses for. Check it out: # Ability Uses Hits Crits Avoids % Avoids 1 Shock 36 51 15 0.0% 0 2 Wither 34 41 4 0.0% 0 3 Saber Strike 60 180 41 16.1% 29 4 Discharge 19 29 3 0.0% 0 5 Force Lightning 7 21 10 0.0% 0 6 Assassinate 8 8 3 0.0% 0 7 Dark Charge 1 71 16 0.0% 0 8 Thrash 8 16 7 0.0% 0 9 Mind Control 10 0 0 0.0% 0 10 Targeted 1 0 0 0.0% 0 11 TOTAL 184 417 99 7.0% 29 At the time I was just over 100% accuracy (100.84% I believe). Is anyone else seeing this in their logs?
  15. The mixed type of damage is what attracted me to the Assassin. I like the flexibility of switching up damage types based on the weakness / strength of the opponent I'm facing. When I solo Heroic 2 / 2+ missions, I look for terrain advantages that let me take advantage of our ability to kite thanks in part to the ranged damage we can output. I understand the desire for more acrobatic animations, as I personally hate that the only ability with a kick animation is Tumult. I'd love if our standard "out of force" animation randomly had the first or last attack in the series be a kick. You know, just for fun.
  16. I've been playing SI Darkside, and have made all but 1 DS choice, mostly because I'm a huge fan of a certain dark lord of the sith from KOTOR2. I have to tell you, it's some of the most fun I've had in a game ever. I like playing an evil and willfully malicious inquisitor. In particular I love that Khem usually agrees with me I started as a warrior, with Vette barely making affection gains as I leveled up. Since I was playing through the free trial, I had to stop at level 15 so I rerolled inquisitor and never looked back. You get a lot of flexibility to just be as vicious and cruel as you want your character to be on the DS story. It's fun the play the villain. I just wish my "master" was a tad more evil. Darth Baras has Darth Zash beat hands down in that department. So in summation, I've had a couple beers and this is a lot of fun.
