  1. I definitely see your point. Once they are past the first door in Voidstar (if we failed to even get that far) I generally just concentrate on killing the inevitable scrub who is talking smack/emoting while be carried by a premade from another guild over...and over... and over.

    Name calling?

Pretty sure this isn't true, as I have been Ops leader with several War Hero's in my warzone (I'm valor 69).
  3. While it is true that you get less valour and less comms by increasing the time of the game, the rest of your post is pure opinion based on your personal reasons for doing Warzones. For many people, the consolation prize has nothing to do with some valour/gear grind and everything to do with taking whatever small victory they can away from the fight. I tend to walk the line depending on my mood. If we're down 5-0 against a stacked Huttball team, it's not unusual for me to grapple the ball carrier into a better scoring position (if they're farming us). Conversely, I'm also down with charging into a turret/door/whatever with teammates and trying to win a tough fight to gain the node, whether it's relevant to the win or not. For the 'never stop trying crowd'... as long as your definition of trying isn't going all Leroy Jenkins into an entrenched premade over and over and over with zero variation to your approach, I'm with you. Running in and dying over and over is not trying.
  4. Yes. In all seriousness, mostly I'm talking PvP, but any of the above would be helpful.
  5. I see alot of mention about ripping mods from other gear and swapping them out with the mods in the BM/Champ/Cent gear. Can anyone give me a rundown of what mods to look for?
  6. I use Storm to get away from focus fire all the time. If it was that big of a speed boost for that short a period of time, then it is highly likely that he just targetted someone in the distance and used Storm to leap out of your range.
  7. The respawn in Voidstar isn't a RNG issue, it's on a cycle. If you stand and watch the door you can watch it count down and then reset over and over consistently. I fail to see how you feel you deserve a win if, with all of your uber heals and lack of deaths you couldn't get further than the other team. It sounds basically like your team was either heal-heavy or so many of you were concentrating on your numbers that you weren't choosing wisely for planting opportunities. PvP warzones that are nothing more than 2 teams duking it out with no clear objectives will get dull to the majority of people who enter. People who complain about a certain amount of PvE being a part of the PvP game are generally the ones who don't want to engage enough of their brain to formulate viable winning strategies or cannot admit/fathom that they can outkill their opponent and still get outplayed.
  8. I'd be sympathetic if I hadn't gotten 3-4 solo kills on my level 15 sentinel the first time I faced a 40+ team in a warzone...
  9. If they do both, then the price of admission is gearing for both. What is killing this game, and most other MMO's is the effed up sense of entitlement that gamers have. Every game that comes out gets progressively easier over time because your average online gamer is only up for challenging content if it's not very challenging. If you want a trophy just for showing up, go back to T-ball.
  10. Only intelligent thing you've posted in this thread. Autoface should be turned off in PvP, period. Other than that, you are simply asking BW to take care of a problem that you are too lazy to deal with on the battlefield. Grav/Tracer spam is probably the single easiest thing in the game to disrupt. If the other team is keeping you too busy to get to the Commando/Merc, then you are going to die anyway.
  11. That's assuming the skill needs to be fixed...which it doesn't.
  12. Well, I find that I draw HUGE amounts of marauder aggro when I'm PvP'ing. Mostly, I think, because I am generally trying to protect a healer. The instant root has saved my bacon more than a few times when they try to use their force shroud to get a speed boost to get back on top of me. Also note that marauders are not a stealth class, they just have an escape that is stealth related. I don't really get alot of use from stealth scan sniffing out regular stealthers but for finishing off a kill when someone tries to ****... yeah.
  13. Illum is still faster. Switching to dps and back to healing won't really have any affect on your warzone credit though, which is what seemed to be your main concern on that front.
  14. It is supremely effective in PvP, period. Learn to anticipate. It is definitely difficult to drop it in just the right place at the right time once your opponent has popped his **** skills. However, with just the tiniest bit of thought and anticipation you can have it down BEFORE they pop their **** skills, and thus insta-pop them out of stealth (and root if you have it spec'd). I have started dropping it right on top of them when they hit 15% health or so and it completely ruins their day if you get it on the ground before they have a chance to disappear.
  15. Having plenty and actually not being too lazy to take advantage of that fact are two different things. The fact is anything that spreads out the zerg helps the smaller population find manageable battles.
  16. Thumbs up for a zergling admitting someone's idea is good. I don't know you're a zergling of course, but I couldn't resist.
  17. The biggest problem you will find with any idea that promotes mobility and maybe a little bit of effort in illum, is that the side with the numbers advantage generally seems to think that their opponents should be happy suiciding into them to get a couple of kills per wipe. I'd venture to say that your idea is great and would be even better if they also removed all proximity notifications on the global chat, forcing actual scouting parties to venture out at the risk of getting ganked.
  18. Perfectly fine idea as long as they also disable all leaps, friendly pulls, and speed boosts on the ball carrier as well. Force speed is the single most abused skill in Huttball. How can one pull really disrupt an escorted ball carrier if that carrier knows how to pass the ball?
  19. So would you make him bowl against you without his fancy wrist brace, super nice custom bowling ball, and wearing the nasty rental shoes they give you instead of the ones he has broken in from his time in competition?
  20. Underpopulated from a Republic standpoint? Yes. Regardless, removing any and all notification announcements and spreading armaments around the map would promote more PvP. The zone isn't that big and forcing whichever side is holding Mid to a) move around a little and b) set scouts because they never would be entirely sure when the enemy was nearing their campfire, would not cause any detriment to PvP. We have Ops on Ops fights on Shadowtown, but not 24/7 and anything that could spread folks out and potentially use the entire zone seems like it would be a win to me. Why should ANYTHING be done to make Illum even easier?
  21. Written like someone from the populated side of the fence. Sure people go to Illum to fight, but when you face 3:1 or worse odds then hiding IS part of your gameplan. Pop everyone up on your radar/map and instead of asking where the few Pubs trying to gank are, you'll just have the same old zerg of Imps moving to the same area. Want to fix Illum at least temporarily? Remove any notifications of player proximity to objectives, spread Armaments around the entire map, and up daily weekly requirements appropriately to reflect the increase in the amount of armaments available on the map. These three things would serve to spread folks out a little, give the less populated side the real option of some hit and run warfare, and force the side with numbers to send patrols out with the risk of them not returning. Anything that makes it easier to find people in Illum is a bad idea and will simply serve to discourage the side getting zerged even more from making an appearance. I do agree with your point about world PvP giving something (valour, coms, whatever) in ANY open PvP area on any planet. It would be relatively simple to just tie the amount rewarded to level difference of your target (no reward if they are more 5+ levels below you). Gankers would still go out to grief lowbies, but suddenly people from the lowbies' faction could come out to police the gankers and be rewarded for it. Next thing you know, huge PvP fights on various planets between all kinds of levels could ensue.
  22. Didn't have the patience to read through every page. Bottom line is, while Sorc is a broken class, it is the fact that generally there are so many of them in a fight that it's almost impossible to stop at least a couple from freecasting that makes them seem so OP to folks. Two sorcs mashing their faces on their keyboards with nobody harassing them can wreck in PvP and if there are 4-6 in a fight, chances are a couple of them will be doing just that. It is almost as fun to fight the ones that literally mash their lightning button over and over as it is to watch a BH run into our group and immediately start trying to spam Tracer Missile point blank though .
  23. Sadly, it wouldn't take that many changes to improve. Illum - spawn armaments all over the map, remove global messages notifying everyone when a player nears an objective, and voila, people spread out instead of the populated side just having a campfire in the center. Not a 100% fix, but an easy and vast improvement in my opinion. With increased amounts of armaments around the map, maybe increase the daily/weekly requirements appropriately. Open PvP areas elsewhere - grant valour for open PvP kills in ANY open PvP area. Take a page from Warhammer and link the amount of valour from a kill to the level difference between combatants, granting zero once that level difference is, say, greater than five (unless the lowbie gets the kill). This would prevent high ranks from farming valour in lowbie areas, but would add incentive for players to come police griefers on various worlds, thus promoting some potentially fantastic battles with players of all levels involved in the same area. Like I said above, not 100% fixes but VERY simple changes that could have an immediate impact on open world PvP.
  24. You said in your OP that you have 13 points unspent... spend them and see how you do. Also, I'd suggest NOT trying to diversify your build at sub 30. Pour all your points into a tree, adjust your playstyle, and respec later as you get enough available points to actually commit to a build. Also, make sure you have Ellora in her heal stance (you may know about that, but I had to learn it the hard way so i'm just throwing it out there).
