The option already exists. You want your BH to go pub? Roll a trooper and spec them out the same. Screw faction changes. You get 12 character slots per server, it's not like you only get 1 or 2, faction swapping is pointless.

Aim, power, crit surge, tbh. Going out of your way to stack high endurance on a DPS merc is just wasting your potential to do horrendous damage, imo.

Or.... don't be overdependent on one ability. Merc pyros have really good damage ability all around, your every other shot doesn't have to be a railshot, learn to vary your attacks and you'll do fine. Save that railshot for the kill shot, not the every shot.

Basically, paraphrased... You killed everybody in all 3 chapters and now you're the baddest BH in whole the universe. You're bored and wondering around the fleet space station looking for somebody to pay you to kill stuff. It's total snoresville, you're seriously not missing anything.

Um... the mods don't make a difference, the armor type makes a difference. If you have a piece of heavy armor and a piece of medium armor, both with the exact same armoring, mod and enhancement, the heavy armor will always give you more armor protection. There isn't a way to offset that armor protection loss. If you can live with the lower armor mitigation then it's all good, I guess it depends on your advanced class/play style. As a merc pyrotech I always use Mako as a companion and I could probably get away with one or two pieces of medium armor in PvE, I would never try that stuff in PvP though... of course you're probably going to get stomped as a mercenary in PvP anyway, so in the end it still wouldn't matter.

I honestly don't think there are any. I was amazed when I got a dark grayish chest as a quest reward on Tatooine on my PT. However, it was bind on pickup and I don't rememer what quest I got it from but I've verified it's none of the heroics. Makes me unhappy as well because I would really like one for my mercenary and I never remember getting an option to pick it up as a reward on her.

Sounds to me like the OP has already figured out the intent of the cartel market. Some people will gamble, some will buy a lot of packs and sell the goodies out them, and some people will just buy that stuff off the GTN. You have found your link in the great chain of life. You're never going to see them implement "just the rare stuff you want" pack, because only and idiot would slaughter their own cash cow.
