  1. Yep, just get rid of all your gear that has expertise on it and you're golden. Better off running warzones naked. Actually, it doesn't increase all other stats. You are better off running PVE gear now. Check it out yourself. Get into a warzone and swap gear. Bolster takes care of expertise and your gear takes care of the rest. What you absolutely do not want to do is run around in Recruit gear or any pre-55 expertise gear.
  2. Yeah, I'm not really feeling the love with this new bolster system. The TTK (Time To Kill) is still whacked, especially for a new level 50 against expertise decked opponents. I thought the intent was to make a more level playing field. I just don't see it.
  3. Hello, New to this server but have played to 50 on another. Starting from scratch as an Imperial and I'm looking for a 100% in character roleplaying guild. Does such a thing exist? If so, let me know. Thanks.
  4. The fact that these two left the game gives me hope that SWTOR has a better future. While I have some small respect for their intentions to help, it was painfully obvious that both Georg and Daniel did not grasp many of the core fundamentals that make MMO's actually fun to play. I hope not to see them in future games.
  5. I am a software developer and would not accept a job on the Tortanic pvp development team if they offered it to me. It would look bad on my resume. Gabe has no clue what he's doing. He's obviously in waay over his head. Georg Z is holding onto false beliefs. His vision of combat and balance are not working out very well. Patch after patch has proven that Bioware has very little quality control. And to make it worse their developers are not very talented. ea louse was right.
  6. Yes, I do. And you can substantiate it easily just by reading all the posts in this thread of people who have unsubbed because of this. 1.2 was supposed to be the miracle patch but it has turned out to be another failure to deliver by Bioware.
  7. Heh. Yeah, because a company who is using a bait and switch scheme advertises it like that... Schisters, co.: "Come into our store because we have free beer! But not really, hahaha, we're just tricking you so that you'll come into the store, not find what you want, and then buy something while you're here." Take off the blinders, dude. BW just wants your money and despite their promises THEY DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY to deliver. Edit link: http://www.swtor.com/news/blog/20120330
  8. I subbed so that I could live the SW fantasy. What I actually got was a lvl 50 character who looks like a space hobo who can pull rocks and droids out of the ground while tossing dirt clods. I also expected a fully realized open world pvp experience, just like they promised. Didn't happen. And actually, it is BW and EA's loss as thousands of us simply unsub and take our money elsewhere.
  9. It's only 900mb. And UO had waaay worse coding. However, what Bioware has delivered in Tor is really, really bad. With every patch they introduce a slew of new errors. They have horrible quality control.
  10. Business and Marketing are not your strong points, I see.
  11. Open world pvp in Tera is 1000x better than open world pvp ever was in TOR, particularly in terms of combat performance and lag. Besides, you're comparing a beta product to a live product. In all ways, Tera is a better performing game (and MUCH better looking) than the Tortanic.
  12. Players are consumers who are complaining about the bait and switch. It's as simple as that. A lot of people resubbed on the promises made for this patch and Bioware has failed to deliver. A software developer cannot pull out such a huge portion of code on a few hours of notice prior to the migration to LIVE servers. Someone at BW knew that RWZ's would not make it and they purposely withheld that information just to get more subs. Bait and switch. Standard operating procedure for a company that is trying to cut its losses.
  13. I don't think you get it yet. The biggest beef that people have is that they resubbed specifically for this feature and BW pulled it at the last minute. Sure, there are other things to do in the game. But a lot of people rightfully feel cheated. Oh well, $15 is not that big of a deal. This will hurt BW much greater in the long run than it will me. Of course there were people at BW who knew that RWZ's weren't going to make it into 1.2 weeks ago. Maybe not the community manager (who seems pretty clueless) but there was a PM somewhere who knew the status and purposely allowed the community to think it'd go live just so BW could get the subs. That's just the way that business works.
  14. You're the one who needs to take the blinders off, bud. There is no way that they could just pull out such a major piece of code a few hours before patching to the LIVE servers. Software development doesn't work like that. Bioware puposely misled the players to increase its revenue. Nothing new here in the corporate world. But, they won't fool me again.
  15. Failed: As in the lack of delivery. I've followed the game for 5 years and the only promise they delivered on was voice acting. For every other major feature in TOR, there is another game that does it better. The ONLY thing this game has to stand on is light sabers. Because of that, the SS Tortanic will sail a long voyage. However, it won't have many passengers. Do a google search using the +forum flag. You'll see how many people think TOR is a grotesque mockery of Star Wars and particularly of pvp.
  16. Guarantee it will. They cannot release RWZ's until they have cross-server queuing implemented and perfected. Otherwise the ques would be waaay too long. Additionally, you should not respect BW. They had 6 years to develop this game. They have failed miserably at deliveing. Period.
  17. I kept my sub going just for this. Don't I look stupid now! --- unsubbed forever --- Tortanic, indeed.
  18. It'll be interesting to see how this actually shapes up, particularly on the majority of servers that have low populations. Heck, even on my server (JUNG MA) which is high, the population during prime time now is a small fraction of what it used to be in January. Rated and Ranked warzones are going to make the queues even longer and the disparities even greater. I pay to play the game, not sit around for 10-20 minutes waiting for a queue.
  19. All that SWTOR is shooting for with pvp is esports. Unfortunately the combat response in SWTOR is slow and clunky. It's just not a fun game to pvp in. Too bad. There will be a few folks who hang around for pvp in SWTOR but anyone who wants to actually have fun pvping in an mmo will find it elsewwhere. Gabe. Fail.
  20. heh, nice story. This is the pvp forum and as such, it is fair to say that swtor pvp is not even in the same league as gw2 pvp which is still in beta. To each their own. Enjoy your esports.
  21. People keep throwing out the term, 'WAI', as if they know what the developer's intent was. That, of course is the problem, because none of us players knows the developer's intent. They have absolutely zero documentation on resolve. However, if you'd like to go ahead and say that resolve is working as intended (whatever that may be), then I submit that the developer had wrong intentions. You can say, "works as designed" all you want but that does not justify a poor design.
  22. Newsflash: The game has already failed at pvp. Nothing in 1.2 is going to make pvp more interesting and fun. One more warzone will get old in a couple weeks. Rated warzones will just cater to those people who are playing SWTOR as an esport.
