  1. "As we celebrate mediocrity all the boys upstairs want to see How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free" -Tom Petty The Last DJ
  2. I used to feel this way. Man I would get so mad when someone came up and "stole" my objective. How dare they! Can't they see that I am there trying to get that? Well, maybe they did and maybe they didn't. But ya know, my name wasn't on it. I didn't see that chest glowing with the name "Sinnaman" spinning over it. I didn't see that quest objective with my name etched on the button. And I certainly didn't see Martinique Dessler exclaim "I spawned only for you Sinnaman!" after killing the assistants for 8 solid hours. if you don't click on something that you are after FIRST and then deal with the mobs... you have no one to blame but yourself. Fact is nobody "steals" anything in this game. It is working as intended, the way the game was designed. It's like a parking lot at christmas... everyone wants a parking space and the first one to it wins.
  3. Funny how tastes vary so much between people. For me it's always been the republic side that has had the ugliest stuff. Ships, Fleet, planets... everything seems so much cooler looking on Sith side which makes me believe the DEVS favor that side.. and GSF is no exception. Rep ships are much uglier IMO. Sith side ships are much cooler looking, and they get (so far) the much cooler color choices for blasters and engines.
  4. I agree. I'm strickly a PVE player but gave GS a try... and I am having a great time! Great addition BW!
  5. I had no time to play due to being out of town for the holidays. I understand BW's logic of an extended weekend on the holiday but that didn't work out for a lot of people. Looking forward to them to having another one when people will actually be home and able to play.
  6. I played 5 Republic toons before creating an Empire one, and from the very second I logged in as Empire it was obvious to me that the DEVS favor the Empire over the Republic. As stated before, look at the space stations, bases, ships, etc... Everything looks so much cooler for the Empire and most of the Republic stuff looks like crap. The Devs made Empire side better.
  7. This discussion looks remarkably similar to the one about Martinique Desler. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=693065 So, is there really a moral obligation to let someone attacking the mobs around an objective let them have it? I sincerely used to think so. I loathed people who ran up on me and stole the objective right from under me. How dare they do that! Can't they see I am trying to get to that? Why are they such an (insert random insult here)! But the thread about Martinique Desler has made me reconsider that standpoint. The game has been created in such a way that anyone can click an objective at anytime.... by DESIGN. If the game is designed this way, then is it wrong to play it by the "first man to click wins" philosophy? Someone in the other thread corrected me by stating that "there is no such thing as kill stealing" in this game. I would now have to agree to that. The only way to ensure that you get the objective that you are after is to do as Dreselus stated. And if you keep getting interrupted and cannot obtain that objective... then L2P and/or just move on to the next one. Now that I have realized the design of the game, I play it how it has been designed. I was only making myself upset when someone ran in and took my objective because I wasn't smart enough to grab it first.
  8. It's a video game. And it was seriously hard for casuals to get those mounts back then as credits weren't as easy to obtain as they are now. I remember going to the vendor trying to get one and didn't have anywhere near the creds, and there was no cartel market. As for AWESOME and exclusive mounts... I had one once. It was called the PLEASURE SPEEDER and I farmed the parts for several months before BW decided to make them available cheap on the freakin GTN. No reason to not sell the Korrealis IMO.
  9. Just because it has been discussed before doesn't mean it has even been read by the Devs. Besides, if you use the search and reply to an older thread then someone will complain about a NECRO. No offense, but it just gets old after awhile. And yes, I would love to see Dye's added to collections. The current system for acquiring rare dyes is beyond ridiculous and near impossible for alts.
  10. Last night i was watching Spongebob and even though all of the show takes place underwater... he was at a beach. Then he went home and took a bath. What the??!?!
  11. Since a lot of us have literally dozens of different vehicles and mounts... would be nice to add to the vehicles tab a random vehicle summon button that does exactly that... randomly picks any of your vehicles from your inventory to use. I used to have a macro in Wow that did this.
  12. Almost 9 years ago to the day SWG released the Jump to Lightspeed expansion that had both PVE and PVP elements from the git-go. If these devs can't do it, maybe they should call someone who can,
  13. I spent around 8 hours total before she spawned. I'd sit there for 45 min or so when I had time to spare. Most of the time people leave you alone if you are camping. The twenty to thirty assistant spawns that I had when someone was there trying to steal the kill, I hit 98% of them first. All in all, this system is the best they can do to allow solo players the chance to get this speeder. In Pre-CU SWG it wasn't who hit the mob first, it was who did the most DPS by the time the mob was dead who got the loot. That made for some pretty hard feelings since the classes were so unbalanced and any master swordsman or tkm could come along and steal your kill for up to 35-40% into the fight.

  15. What gets me is some of those areas where you can knock mobs off of the walkways... then suddenly they just re-appear out of thin air and attack. I'd like to be able to fly too.
  16. This is the real issue. Tell me, if all that BW is interested in is making money... then why not sell the Varactyl's and black dyes and whatever people really want straight from the Cartel Market? (I know they sell the dyes but the "limited availability is BS") They would make more money that way instead of disgruntling a good portion of folks that have had enough of the RNG and won't buy packs anymore. if I wanted to buy the new Mercedes Benz, I would go to my local dealer and buy it. But what if I had to stand in the doorway and pay a fair amount of money to roll a 20 sided dice just for the chance to possibly get one at a reduced cost? I think that gimmick would go over well for a couple of weeks, but when people started to realize they were spending 10 times the amount of what the car is worth and still not getting one... they would be upset. And on top of that...how would people react to being forced to buy the car from someone who happened to get lucky and is standing outside the door selling for more then the car is really worth? What the heck kind of business strategy is that? It wouldn't be long before people would suspect that the dealership had something shady going on... and the so called "lucky people" selling the cars outside are really making huge profits because they "know someone at the dealership". You sell the most wanted items directly on the Cartel Market. People pay real money for them... Bioware wins. People sell them for in game credits... players who don't want to spend real money win. It's a win win. Why not do this?
  17. My guild has been trying to down Operator IX in HM for weeks (We only Ops 2 nights a week for 2 hrs at a time). We finally downed him last night after approximately 30 attempts. We were elated. There is a lot of luck involved in the fight, but overall it was one of the most enjoyable challenges we have ever faced. I don't think it needs to be scaled down. It's good to have fights like this one to challenge you. That being said, I don't even want to think about what this fight might look like on NM.
  18. It's not that hard to imagine. 20-30 years before Luke meets Yoda for the first time there were literally hundreds of thousands of droids in the galaxy. Battle droids, astrometric droids, interpreters, bartenders, you name it. Obi-Wan and Yoda were surrounded by so many droids on a daily basis that it would have been to them like you or I as we walk through a mall parking lot full of cars. Perhaps we had a friend that had a certain color Mustang that we saw him driving 20 or 30 years ago. But what if you walked by that same mustang today... would you absolutely know that it was the same car that your friend had? Obi-Wan looking at two droids in the desert sand is no different then seeing that Mustang all those years later. Obi-Wan never remembered "owning" a droid so he just wasn't paying that much attention to them. As for R2 not "outing" Yoda right from the start... well as said before it's possible he just did not interact much with Yoda before or was under "orders" not to disclose information as previously stated. Yoda is not going to remember it. When 900 years old you reach, remember one single droid from thousands you will not.
  19. Since they admitted their mistake... then perhaps they should put the dyes on the Bounty Supply vendor for 1 credit each.
  20. Veruca Salt: I wanted to be the first to find a Varactyl on my server, Daddy! Mr. Salt: I know, angel. We're doing the best we can. I've got every girl in the place to start hunting for you. Veruca Salt: All right. Where is it? Why haven't they found it? Mr. Salt: Veruca, sweetheart. I'm not a magician! Give me time! Veruca Salt: I want it now! Mr. Salt: For five days now, the entire flipping workforce has been on the job. They haven't run a daily in there since Monday. They've been opening stupid Cartel Packs from dawn till dusk! Veruca Salt: Make them work nights!
  21. This is almost exactly the same thing that happened to me. I'll never buy a hypercrate again.
  22. I agree with OP not only about Makeb but about the entire game. I leveled 4 Rep toons before I rolled a Sith side one and I have to admit that it seems the devs gave all the love to the Sith side. Ships, cities, and fleet are all much cooler looking on Sith side. Stories are more interesting too IMO.
