  1. Even though DirectX 11 is supposed to be backwards compatible, I needed to install the DirectX End-User Runtime for version 9 in order to get SWTOR to work on my machine.
  2. I'd be a creature handler / hunter living in a town called Fairview Ridge on Talus. I'd also have a vacation home/Rebel stronghold on Dantooine. Secretly I'd be a Colonel in the Rebel Alliance and take out scores of Imperial Troop patrols as I went about my daily life just trying to rid the galaxy of the Empire. For fun I would hunt Rancors on the planet Dathomir. I've already done all of that, and I would gladly return to that life if I had the chance.
  3. Man, I KNEW they should have left the snowballs alone!!
  4. is it against the rules to use a macro to continuously press F5 for me?
  5. Alexander Freed, Imperial agent.
  6. I'm just in shock that you actually received a response from CS at all...
  7. I support this thread. I have no desire to PVP or take the time to learn what to do to help out. I have done 5 matches so far and have no idea what i am doing, I just stealth around in close proximity of the others (so I don't make anyone suspicious that I am just there for the M1-4X mission) and I stay out of the fights if I can help it until the timer expires. I'm not sorry that I am messing up other's efforts. This is by design from Bioware. If the PVP'ers have an issue with it, they can take it up with them not me. When I am done my 20 I will be outta there.
  8. Survey was too short. To add my separate thoughts... IMO all subscriber awards should be sent via e-mail like the KotFE ones. The times Bioware puts out some vendor somewhere for a limited time (3rd anniversary rewards for example) is dumb. If a person is away from the game for a month but stayed subbed or just happened to miss that on a patch note, they don't get their rewards and have no way of obtaining what is rightfully theirs if they qualified.
  9. This is my third play through of KofTE and the first on the Sith side. I am at a point in the story where if I choose what I want my character to do story wise (taking the path I have taken all along) then it is going to award me Light Side points. This is not acceptable. I should not be forced to choose solely because of points. In Chapter V this happens: Comon Bioware, I should not be forced to make a choice I do not want to make. I don't want to ruin the "perfect dark side" record I have. I am 0/10000 dark side and have never made an LS choice.
  10. Alternating can keep things fresh, just as long as you're not alternating the same level toons on the same planets at the same time. I alternated a bit, but then would focus on one at a time from around level 30 to max level before I came back to another one. The origin stories are good, and the only repetition that I experienced was on the same side quests over and over (unless I was on 12 XP) I can tell you that I would gladly play all 8 origin stories over again compared to what they have us doing after we are maxed. I have 9 max level toons which includes one of each class on both sides. Doing origin stories was great! different and engaging. However int he expansion worlds playing the same story over and over (and over, and over) again on Makeb, Oricon, Revan, and KOTFE... you wanna talk about repetition... it is almost like torture. Enjoy the origin stories.
  11. I woukl live on Talus where I would use my artisan skills to run harvesters for various ores and wind elements. Then I would do all of my hunting on Dathomir, occasionally tangling with Nightsisters or the Spider Clan. Sigh.
  12. I'll be sure to stop by and check it out. I also have a stronghold that I am quite proud of and would love to have people visit. My Yavin IV stronghold is called "Steerpike's Imperial Santuary" and it is an Imperial Garrison. Both factions are welcome.
  13. 1. Players cannot adhere to your schedule. It is unrealistic to expect that people can just stop what they are doing to head over there on a whim. They could be in the middle of an FP or long quest... wife aggro,.. suppertime... whatever. Some could, but more times then not they probably can't. 2. Players did not read or ignored general chat. I ignore it most of the time myself as it is full of babble. 3. Players just don't care or don't understand. You were very nice to offer in chat that the datacrons were available, but it's pointless to worry about it. You tried to help other players... that is enough.
  14. Yes they did but don't forget that: (1) they literally turned on the Jedi in a moment's notice without any premeditation for the Jedi to pick up on... and (2) once they turned they mostly outnumbered the Jedi like 5 to 1 and were usually standing behind them when they opened fire. Makes it pretty easy to wipe any slate clean IMO
  15. Look at me, I'm PVE Nerfed into infinity Can't go to Dread or some warzone instead I can't, I'm PVE Watch it! Hey I just wanna play I'd like to run an OPS today Won't hardly parse cause I lost my arse from nerfs that came my way I can't blink (no!) or stare (no!) But Bioware does't care (eww!) I get killed after one flame turret I keep getting mauled and then my shadow falls While the ranged barely breaks a sweat? As for you, the noobs of new PVP is all you'll wanna do You'll get your rank while my DPS stank I'm just plain PVE Eric! Eric! Let me be! Keep that nerf bat far from me! You think you're so cool while you've made me a fool Hey fungoul, I'm PVE!
  16. :Phone rings: Frank: "Thank you for calling Comcast/Verizon/AT&T/(insert company name here). How may I assist you?" Customer: "You guys are having a promotion for new customers to receive a free (fill in the blank) and (fill in the percentage) off their monthly bill for a year! How can I, a loyal customer for the last (fill in the number of years) get that same promotion? Frank: "Hold please" Frank: "Hey Joe, when we put out this great offer, what happens when a current sub wants it?" Joe: "Oh gee Frank, that's a good point. Here's what we'll do. Let him b*tch about it for several more minutes and then either offer him some small concession or just keep telling him that the promotion is only for new customers and there's nothing you can do. I'll send out a memo to the rest of the staff instructing them to do the same exact thing. This way we'll lose 40-50% of our customers who will save a few bucks when they switch, but don't worry because they'll just come back in a couple of years when the other company caters to their new customers!" Sounds like the everyday world to me.
  17. BW just needs to poll everyone via in-game mail asking what they want as a reward, and then grant it. Problem solved. I'm asking for the Millennium Falcon
  18. QFT Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Devs have always favored IMP side.
  19. Faster Speed for Speeders and mounts Random summon feature for all of your current speeders and mounts so that a different one in your collection is summoned each time
  20. It's been quite a while since I suggested this and am unable to find my old thread on it, so here goes: Would like to have a button to summon your speeder/mount at random from all of the speeders/mounts you own. I have a lot of speeders and wish to use them all without having to readjust a quickbar each time. Thank you for your consideration.
  21. Amazing, this is like the same exact thing that happened to me, almost word for word, when i started playing WOW many many moons ago. I was playing a warlock in my very first group run in gnomeregan and I rolled on a piece of agility gear. At least two of the other players in the group hammered me with whispers for almost 10 minutes over a stupid piece of lvl 19 gear. It was my introduction to main stats, as well as learning how much people could get upset over a video game.
  22. Except that this isn't a price drop... or a sale even. This is a price CHANGE. And the price is changing to FREE. If this were a sale (or in some instances a price drop) then the others are right... in retail you could take your receipt back within a certain time frame to receive a refund. But this is not a sale... this is a removal of an item price forever. No refunds are required for such a change, nor should they be. If the corner gas station charged 50 cents for air and then they decide one day to make it free for their customers... no one has the right to go back and demand a refund for purchasing the air previously. The old price was 50 cents, the new price is free. Accept free and go on with it.
  23. I don't read this as a troll post. This seems logical to me. One of Henny Youngman's famous jokes goes: A man walks into a doctor's office. He holds his arm up and says "Doc, it hurts when I do this!". So the Doctor tells him "Then don't do that!" Seems simple enough to me.
