  1. Went through all the oricon comm gear and it's the same for all tanks. Only belt and bracer has defense, all implants have accuracy but the earpiece doesn't. So there is noway to get defense enhancements or implants with comms.
  2. Yeah that aswell for some tanks either defense or absorb is on almost nothing.
  3. About the solo players, if you read the post you see that they actually state that one reason selfhealing is removed is due to how good it is with solo content and easier content. The same way it's to bad for nim, it's to good for solo/fps.
  4. There is a difference between better and a lot better. No other class is even close to the mauarders cooldowns. And that's because you have to use battering assult and delay the burst with 1 gcd? And compare it to most of the other dpses, juggernaut and PT can't do anything of what you said but they have much worse cds. It's insane how long a marauder can survive against even enraged bosses and how useful it is, it can easily by 4 more seconds which can be difference between kill and a wipe.
  5. Why does tanks get worse comm gear than dps/heal? Several tank implants/ears have accuracy on them which no one will buy ever and unlike the enhancments you can't rip the accuracy out. They also get the B mods instead of unlettered like power/crit. This is making tanks a lot more dependent on specific drops and take significant more time to get optimized gear. It's doesn't getter better that the new op drops implant only half of the time and belt the other half. Tanks need both, belt/bracer as a source for mods instead of comms and implants because the comm implants have accuracy. BW should atleast remove the accuracy on the implants/ears so it's actually possible to use them without gimping yourself.
  6. What are the corresponding vg and assasins pre and post heals dtps? Couldn't find them in the thread.
  7. Found the part of the log where I used force shroud on strong swipe. I didn't get the dismantled effect and the dismantler didn't use obliterate after the swipe. Obliterate is probably triggered by dismantled.
  8. Yeah looks like it, what would happen if the 5% defence buff from retalation was changed to 5-10% shield? I'm guessing it would change the statbugets a bit and maybe make things more balanced?
  9. Might be good to have anyway, doesn't hurt to collect it.
  10. I am pretty sure Obliterate is not f/t attack. I actiaved force shroud once between the swipe and obliterate and got killed. However activating force shroud before the swipe prevented the knockback and I didn't get killed. My guess is that the strong swipe knockback applies somekind of buff/debuff thing that makes the next attack from dismantler against you do a lot of dmg. If you prevent the knokback by using knokback immunity, force shroud etc you will be fine. The log says that the strong swipe applies and debuff called dismantled on you. I'm guessing it's the cause. Also note that I parried the oblitare in this log but still got killed. You can cloak during the knockback but if you get the aggro back and the dismantler hits you it will kill you. Log from when I cloaked then taunted.
  11. Yeah I know, those are nice changes and makes so you atleast you use it some during fights with more movment. The problem is when you can't leave/move the boss to reapply it. The Nafra for instance, impossible to leave boss and not that much movment.
  12. A question/thought to the combat team, do you have any plans to change phase walk? With the new changes for tanks the phase walk is even more useless to place for the tank itself. The healing buff is nice and useful but it's often hard to replace the phase walk on any boss that requires you to stay with it at all times, for instance trasher and nefra. One idea is to let tanks remote place it with an aoe marker with the downside of no teleport. This could be implemented as a 1 pont talent so tanks can have the normal phase walk if they choose to.
  13. Which is stated as a reson for the removal, self healing is maybe to good for that stuff. Is actually more the otherway around, because of the possible spike damage assasins require constant healing to keep them above the potenial spike damage. The numbers might not be so high but the attention is there and possibly higher since there might be a spike. That is more about having cooldowns ready than anything. Is it sm? Doesn't sound like nim, and the spike problems on that bosses are pretty big compared to any gains from the selfhealing. I noticed that sometimes assasins need a pretty big amount of heals at tankswaps if get spiked at the same time, happens a lot during DG nim second phase. Bit boring that tanks are turning more simialar but no the end of the world in a theme/logical sense. Why can sages pull friendlies but not enemies, while shadows pull enemies but not friendlies. Probably going to be pretty much the same, if the incoming damage is high enough holding the new stacks will be more imporant that the healing ever was. The channel is still a lot of damage so doing it during lignting field is still helping the dps. Delaying the heal for 3-4 seconds isn't going to affect much. I would disagree that it is super tricky to do either, save force potency for it and avoid the knocback. It's easy beacause the surging chains and ligtning fields are completly predictable. Other knocbacks/interupts are much worse, like twh boss and add. With a dr reduction equal to selfhealing(varies based on incoming dps though) it would have turned out the same way except that active migation is better than reactive migation. Depedning on the dps selfhealing might better or worse than 4% dr. The dps from titan is probably not high enough for the dr to be better tough but might be on other bosses. It's a lot better for all tanks, nothing new. I am also suprised to see how big the changes are but removal of selfhealing was probably the only long time way to go unless they redesigned the whole thing even more and make selfhealing scale with incoming damage somehow.
  14. Did some quick calculations to see how much the incoming damage has to be for the 2.5 changes to equal healing needed with the current values. I used the defense, shield, absorb and amor values from my tank. It's in mostly optimized 72 with some 78 and 75. I am not sure if I have done everything correctly. Used dipsticks numbers for damage ratios and formula for post armour migation. I ignored kinetic bulwark completly. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhBlKb7ccqV0dENjenlmeHVSaS1yN216b0l3ajIzVlE#gid=0 What I got is that if the incoming damage is higher than about 6778 the 2.5 changes will need less healing.
  15. Awesome work as usual:) One thing about dummy parses that is important to think about is the affect of random procs and crits combined with doing a lot of parses. Basically fishing for higher crits and procs and the correct places, parse 20 times and the top one is likely to have more crits than normal. I have seen before that some of top parses have higher crit rates than their gear gives and there have been discussions about venagence and fishing for those proces. So it's likely that luck dependent specs parse higher than they should on dummy because of repated parses. Also specs that need high precsion in their dot tracking are likely to parse worse aswell in a real situation. I saw one of our nim dps lose about 200-300 dps when we got another madness sorc in the group so they switched specs. The easiest way to fix this problem would be proper dot tracking.
  16. Some small updates. More logs would be nice, especially 16 man nim.
  17. Some small updates. More logs would be nice, especially 16 man nim.
  18. Could you link that parse? Would be nice to see and I been trying to collect spike parses.
  19. It really doesn't show that much in HM(unless 16 man hm), you notice large spikes but survivabilitys is not a huge issue. I have been trying to collect spike parses but the interest hasn't been huge, there are some though: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=674833 Thats the whole problem with spikes, you can't affect the dmg you take directly by gearing. And an assasin will take about 20% more dmg from a spike than a juggernaut. The only 100% way to avoid it is cds but those aren't up all the time. I agree, threat is never a problem on my sin. The rotaion is quiet simple to, dark ward can be a bit annoying at times. However thinking about how to use the cds are a pretty big part of the fights. Especially force shroud.
  20. Yeah I guessed that it wasn't possible to split on the f/t attacks. I looked a bit in my logs and it says ressist when ressited so it should be possible to split out the resists from the defence related.
  21. Started using Parsec about a week ago and it's a very nice tool:) I especially like that it's an easy and quick way to detailed information about dmg taken, the dmg types and such. However I noticed that defense related things(dodge, deflected and similair) is bundle together with ressist. Could you split it into a seperate column? It would be very nice because that way it would be easier to see which attacks are f/t. Even better would be if f/t attacks could have a seperate color, but I guess that's not possible due to how the f/t attacks in logs work?
  22. Madness is affect much more than most of the others due the long duration of the dots verus the cd and madness has a higher % of dmg coming form the dots. Annihlation for instance has very little problems with dot tracking because its easy to not overlap. Madness can lose a lot more than 50-100 dps from it, and it's from each madness char aswell.
  23. It's fine when they are alone but as soon as you have several madness specs(sorcs or sins) their dps drops a lot. Basically the problem is not the reachable dps, it's how hard/easy it is to reach decent levels and qualify of life issuses.
  24. Yeah something has changed overall. I usually never notice missfires but recently I noticed them a couple of times.
