  1. Force breach does lowsy damage. Its aoe has very little effect on your overall parse... And infil shadows are gimp. When I see the twirly saber come out on a sin or shadow I chuckle and take the easy kill. Also this discussion got entirely focused on whether or not being able to burst in pvp makes you good dps. It completely ignores the fact that infil is a squishy mediocre melee dps which has pve implications beyond pvp.
  2. Lets look at what you do get that stealthers dont get... 2 30m leaps allowing for instant 3 dimensional travel to any player within range. Complimented by a stun our damage reduction. (on a short cd I might add) Heavy Armor and defensive cooldowns not dependent on attack or damage type. High % self heal. Stealth on the other hand has a long cd and its only benefit is positioning. It provides no heals, extra damage or stuns and its not 3 dimensional. L2P. Guardians are beastmode.

  4. Interesting. I find there is a significant survivability increase with ion cell. And seeing as tactics provides more press dps than burst, constantly being under 10m makes it not a fringe spec which usually means youre going to get pounded. I find living longer is a greater dps increase than plasmas dot. However I must admit I do love taunt and guard.
  5. Only his last 9 words were false... The rest were his opinion. As a tank I'm primarily healed by sawbones. we haven't run into a problem yet. They might not be as polished or good a the others but they can heal. Play whatever you like in my opinion. My tank is "the worst" (theorywise) of the tanks but I love playing him and he does just fine. Even with the "gimp" scoundrels healing me.
  6. Tactics is a pretty close range spec. How does yours stack up with 8/31/2 (ion cell). You get the snare still and an auto proc on SS plus the extra survivability since youre stuck inside 10m for the most part.
  7. Happens to me at least once a wz. Super annoying in huttball. Try to clear a ramp and doh... Sorcs beat me on it all the time yet I see their animation start after mine... Related note, does anyone else feel our kb has the least distance. A sorc or merc or jugg will knock me like 30m away. Mine moves them maybe 10... usually less.
  8. I like having the extra crit because in pvp I cast project whether or not PA is up unless i'm specifically trying to burst someone. Plus crits on ST are sexy. As for the gear you should get stalker gear and then if you are able, buy survivor and remod it. Also the power relic is beast with PA up. ST, DS, DS, relic/forcepot/PA project, TKthrow, spinning strike DEATH
  9. You'll notice a difference as you get more expertise. Follow the advice above. I personally prefer the survivor set bonuses but change out all the mods for stalker ones. Keep your taunts rolling keep your healers alive with guard. If you see someone in BM gear youre going to die. It happens.
  10. Qui-gon used Ataru form combat. In SWTOR the sentinel has this. Qui-gon (and yoda) used the single blade version. Sentinels use the dual blade version which was demonstrated by anakin vs dooku in episode 2. Qui-gon is definitely a jedi knight in this game.
  11. I know they're fixing it tonight. But does anyone else find it hilarious that the imps bug WZ's like 4/5 times. Can't win the normal way? ROFL
  12. Elitism refers to your insistance that you can only be the best you can be by keybinding and that all else is inferior... Clickers achieve plenty more than the minimal... Taugrim while providing a very well rounded, thought out, and detailed explanation of why he believes keybinding is better that does not mean he is 100% correct. If you'd like I can write a blog and a very structured post on how to perform as a clicker and it will be just as well rounded with just as much circumstantial evidence. Taugrim is right in that for some people keybinding will be a vast improvement for mmo players but he is wrong that it is the end all for all players. That is my opinion. You are wrong that clickers cannot perform at 100%. That is my opinion and I know for me I outpetform plenty of keybinders... As for your marathon argument youre comparing apples to granite rocks... Not even the same category. The comparison you should be making is running shoes to toe shoes. Training would be akin to playtime. Not playstyle
  13. Actually it would be like using a controller over a mouse and keyboard in an fps. You have significantly greater precision with a mouse than you do with a joystick. Or like flying with a keyboard instead of a flight stick in a flightsim.... Nowhere in this thread has any definitive proof been laid that keybinding is superior to clicking. If you think clickers can't move while clicking then you need a reality check. The only advantage I give to keybinding is rightclick turning however with the wasd you can counterstrafe and turn 90 degrees extremely quickly and 90 degrees will allow you to engage a mob that was directly behind you.
  14. Wow. Elitist uncivil attitude much? Taugrim has expressed an opinion which I disagree with. He has no evidence beyond circumstantial. I will leave you with 2 things. A) you are 100% wrong and with such a closed mind will always be inferior to an open minded player. B) I can guarantee I could out-tank, out-dps, out-heal, and out-pvp you any day of the week.
  15. Ugh. Had a nice response typed out. #smartphonefail Anyway I stand corrected. Editted my post to be right. Its important to note though that attack type and damage type are different and can be paired in any manner. Attack type determines how the attack is avoided. Damage type determines how it is mitigated. IE the "best" attack for pvp would be a force/tech ability that does elemental/internal damage since on average these will hit more and be reduced least.
  16. I think I had to wait till 42 to buy my training. And I didn't but immediately at 50. I was poor due to maxing cybertech early. When I bought my 50 training I had 5k afterward. 60 minutes and 3 warzones later I was up to 100k. Creds come easy at 50
  17. Guard + aoe taunt whenever its up can easily get you the 10k medal also
  18. I like this running HEC. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801ZMsMMRrfoZbIbrzh.1 Keep the dots rolling and "spam" ion pulse and pulsecannon. You can't spam quite as much as a traditional tactics spec due to keep IR running but the dps is solid. You could adjust the assault points and run plasma for short fights I suppose. Im also still split on the points in pulse generator over brutal impact.
  19. 9 times out of 10 you should be using plasma with an assault spec. For tactics you can really use any cell. There are only 2 talents that are reliant on HEC and they aren't spectacular and can be avoided if you so choose. So with tactics your "extra points" (the ones in other trees) determine what cell you probably use if you choose a cell specific talent then you should probably run that cell.
  20. Necrowin I think the jury will be out till there is a combat log. Assault still seems to have an edge in damage. For pvp it has better burst it seems, where tactics has more steady but hard damage. Theres a tactics discussion going on right now you should check out
  21. White and yellow refer to the color of the damage numbers that pop up when you attack. There are 4 attack types and 4 damage types. Attack types are: melee, ranged, force, tech. Force and tech can be resisted but not avoided. the others are dodged/parried/shielded Damage types are: Kinetic, weapon, elemental, internal. Kinetic/weapon are white numbers and are mitigated by armor. Internal & elemental ignore armor but have a resist stat. shadows/sins have the most ele/int resist. Vangards/powertechs have the most armor. Guardians/juggernauts also have high armor and very good def cooldowns.
  22. It has been said that "hybrid" specs are not an intended design and thus are "taxed" by an inability to gain an endline ability. For many AC trees the endline abilities are so lackluster that no one wants them and a hybrid spec is preferable. How and/or when will you be addressing these issues? Note: for shadows this "fix" was increasing the tax heavily by making mid-line abilities unusable in other stances. Is this going to be a similar situation for troopers, guardians, or sages who also rely heavily on hybrid systems. I would strongly urge you consider making the endlines more valuable instead of adding caveats to mid-tree abilities.
  23. I use this tactics spec http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hRMZrsrrobfkzsZb.1 I run ion cell. Get my snare. Guard healers etc... Disrupt caps. I usually have a pretty high kill count and damage is solid. I usually roll with a healer buddy but I might take shock absorbers if I didn't.
  24. I generally listen to one of the following while wz on my van. Manson's - Sweet Dreams Foo Fighters - Pretender
