  1. I always just assumed it came down to willpower, at least that's how Valkorion always worded it. Our character just has a strong psychological fortitude? I'm not huge on lore but the way the force is explained by some jedi, that the force are in all living things, even those that cannot wield the force conciously, always made me think that anyone could potentially learn to resist force abilities, at least a bit. For example, maybe you can't stop someone from choking you but you could retain enough concentration to aim a blaster and disrupt the opponent's attack.
  2. To make a better galaxy, or any other number of reasons why you might defect? What an odd question. Our imperial character never chooses to be a saboteur specifically, they choose to side with the republic and the form that choice takes is to sabotage them instead of openly declaring for the Republic. being put in that position doesn't mean my light-side characters suddenly abandon their morality just to kick at the enemy one time extra.
  3. I know how the events typically work, that's not what I'm asking though. Thanks anyway. I'm referring to the event list found here https://www.swtor.com/info/in-game-events which lists the events that are to happen. I was wondering when they usually update that.
  4. Is it in the beginning of a new month? I'm sitting with an agent wanting to recruit Lokin to the Alliance, it'd be neat to know if I kan expect the Rakghoul event sometime this month to allow for that, so I can time my subscribtion purchase with it.
  5. He got mad at my lightside sith warrior because I assumed all "sabotage" options were the "correct" ones.
  6. I also think that the game is heading towards different goals between the galactic nation, not just imperial reform. Non-sab imperials, I believe, can claim in dialogue with Theron that what they intend is a galaxy at peace so the empire may prosper and the republic not necessarily fall. Something to which Theron responds with something like understanding. I don't know if Bioware is going to make this a goal the player can specifically pick but I liked the idea that I could potentially play a not-dark imperial character that hoped but didn't necessarily *believe* in imperial reform, who would instead attempt to limit the scale of the war and attempt to get the nations to make peace.
  7. All your spoilered examples aren't legacy unlock races though, I think you can play all those just by being a subscriber. They are races that the game was designed to allow for those classes. The reason why the topic is Chiss is because originally you could only play agents and bounty hunters as a Chiss, hence the specific exaple you gave of them.
  8. Oh yes, I do agree. It has to be done properly.
  9. Agreed. I'd especially love for them to directly address republic/jedi purebloods and imperial/sith Miraluka.
  10. A pity I just used all my saved-up cartel coins. Oh well, maybe it'll be on sale in the future.
  11. I get that. I have a friend I sometimes play with, even though I mostly play solo, he can't do jumps ever. The game isn't exactly designed to be a platformer! He hates when I spot a holocron and decide to try and get it.
  12. Because of the jumping or because of the fights? The boss? I died once to one of the droid fights, there were too many. I used the medical prope to escape ahead on the next jumping section. The boss fight took a long time but eventually I got his HP down before he could recover.
  13. I always assumed that they were using the word "betrayed" in a more general sense. Remember, the Empire viewed Corellia as lawfully Imperial because the council had voted to join them. The Selonians, being citizens of Corellia, therefore were betrayers because they chose to fight the government. But I could be wrong too.
  14. Ah that's a pity. Odd games design choice. Thanks for answering.
  15. So, it's not possible, right? I've never bothered with the binocular missions before but since I was playing a character supposed to romance Theron for once, I thought it might be fun to play the mission with the Shroud this time, just because I remember him mentioning that dude. So what started as a simple exploratory mission suddenly turned into a difficult car chase. That was kinda cool, just a bit challenging. Then I get to his lair and there are three switches that you can't turn on your own. It feels a tiny bit like a middle finger, to suddenly plop down a multiplayer requirement, at the end stage of a story like that.... Searching on this topic on google brings up old forum threads mentioning that the rest of the level can't be solo'd either but given that it's a bit of an old quest chain I thought I might ask here. If I were to ask a couple of people (I have no idea if any would be willingto assist) to just help flick the three switches with me, would I be able to solo the rest of the quest by myself?
  16. Maybe Quesh is a case where the story only happens on one side? Whatever character you are playing just happens to arrive on Quesh and tip the balance of power for the quest to complete. In the case that your imperial character arrives, Dracen becomes daring and uses the momentum created by the player to take out (or work with) the remains of the three families. In the case that a republic character arrives, the Republic strikes back and eventually corners Dracen. Dracen's goal on Quesh is to provoke war and his attempt to do so on pub side is to goad the player into killing him. There's also the Jedi and Sith characters that only appear in the opposing faction's story.
  17. You should check the dates before posting a reply mate, this thread's been inactive for five years.
  18. There's also the finishing quest to the Tatooine planetary storyline. Also Alderaan,
  19. Necro'ing to report the solution suggested in this thread worked for me as well. I've had the console not working bug before on other characters, I fixed that by switching instance. This time I could use the console right away but the shield remained up. Relogging worked.
  20. I'm really hoping Balmorra will feature in some way like Corellia did, which is why I'd love to have a confrontation with my agent about Grey Star for example, like a mentioned. Supposedly Balmorra is directly affiliated with the alliance through Tai if you saved him, so it'd be cool if there could the three outcomes: Imperial, Republic and affiliated with either through the alliance for those that chose to stay seperate. I think Zenith would make most sense as a hardliner for independence and neutral to the republic. Besides the agent, another cool concept might be those that play as a saboteur Consular. I don't have a character like that myself, but it would be really satisfying to have a choice play out in such a personalised fashion.
  21. Even better, bring him back in a way that creates a confrontation with my agent.
  22. Man I hope not. One of the things I hated about the expansions was because spawning skytroopers and knights constantly auto-broke stealth and started combat. On Imp Balmorra I just did the sky laser heroic by stealthing through the first compound. I'd prefer for stealth not to be pointless.
