  1. I started playing in December and have never had any connection issues besides my own wifi needing a reset. At least as far as I am aware.
  2. For my last few characters I have just used the random name generator in the game. At most I had to change a single letter, like a silent H and I got it even if it was taken. Not that hard.
  3. Just so you know, when I had to pick a option in that specific dialogue, the game didn't automatically switch Ashara for Khem for me, when I got off the ship I still had to manually select her as my companion.
  4. Personally I think Inquisitor is a worse sinner in this regard. I can't count the amount of times s/he declares "Murder and mayhem await" or some such.
  5. Out of curiosity, how much counts for a part of the Iokath story? I didn't really care when I played it with my consular, but I was surprised that Elara just turned up in my companion selection. I played the initial confrontation with Acina, having sided with the Republic, but after that and the conspiracy all I had left was a quest that seemed to be a side objective about killing droids, so I just ignored it and went onwards with other story content. Is there more to it, or do you only get a "talking to" if you play as trooper?
  6. I do use credits for gear upgrades, but it's few and far between because I'm very casual. I mainly play for the story elements, but that might change now that I have almost completed them all. I'm thinking of investing time into getting upgrades for my agent, just because she's the most fun to play with, so I might actually be able to save up money for the mods that I might want. Or I might finally look into crafting, I haven't touched that at all. The tallest amount of cash I had at any one time was with my consular where I basically poured all the credits from all my characters at that point onto her, I managed to reach something like 3.5 mil. I'd need at least 4.5 to get the best barrels on the GTN for my rifle and vibroknife for example. I haven't decided if I wanted to stick with the game yet. I purchased the 2-month sub to try it past the f2p limitations, but I might just decide that I'm not into the gameplay alone enough, for me to enjoy getting into crafting or grinding.
  7. I found Ossus, while a nice world with room for exploration and heroics, to feature a very oddly paced story. I kinda feel it was a bit of a wasted opportunity not to use some of the many very similar jedi women that the different classes can have for companions in the story. Nadia, Kira, Ashara and Jaesa aren't that far apart in regards to their stances on the Jedi code and how to behave as a Jedi. Not in that, they have completely similar views, but that all of them have personalities and experiences that probably won't allow them to become great jedi masters. They are all quite passionate when it comes down to it. Instead we got Tau who wasn't necessarily a bad character, but just feels like a stand in that is never replaced with a returning companion even when you play as a consular and Nadia might as well have been your companion for the story. Also just in terms of the alliance, I feel like Jedi are oddly under represented. The story could also have been so much more interesting playing as a republican-siding Sith for this expansion. I don't really know anything about the team size or resources Bioware has left to use on swtor, but I can't help but feel like it wouldn't have had to take that much more narrative ambition to make Ossus just feel a bit more grand.
  8. I thought people liked the whole valkorion/arcan/vaylin thing, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that's way over that part of the story. If anything, it made me feel less epic and more like a chum. All the villains have unknowable awesome powers in the force and the only way my Sith and Jedi can compete is by being idiots and giving in to the posessor spirit living in their head or obtaining a literal plot device that's never again referenced. I also disliked the whole neutral force thing. They don't bother to explain it much and the only reason why it's presented is so the writing can ignore your characters affiliation towards the force. I loved early Sith Warrior light side because the story actually reacted to it, Bioware; more of that, not less! I've also gotten the sense that it's unwise to criticise Lana and Theron, but can we please include the class-specific companions that have returned in the story yet? It's boring that the plot has exclusively moved through these two characters, even if it's more work I'd much prefer to have some optional roles filled by the other characters. Why not let us pick a second in command from the old and new roster so the programming of the story can at least go in a sensible direction? It would be neat to pick your quest giver, perhaps it could be isolated to just love interests or something like that.
  9. So far I've only earned credits from story and side quests plus the heroics I stumble upon playing through the class stories, so I haven't really ground towards any specific amounts as of yet. But my credits have tended to go towards outfit compilation, dye and upgrades, so augmentation kit 10's and augments that I find within reasonable price ranges. I also buy dye for some companions, depending on if I want to upgrade their look. On my smuggler I wanna save up so I can make Corso's hideous heavy armour that I found less green, lol. The only companion of which I actually liked one of the awarded outfits so far has been Vette.
  10. If you're into Bioware regulars, you might consider female agent as well. Same voice as female Hawke.
  11. Sure! Old username though, I don't really follow football much these days. I also really like the female JC voice actress. JC is one of very few roles I have found where I don't like Nolan North. I think he's better in more expressive roles (I wish they had picked him for the male smuggler).
  12. Sounds like I made my characters at the best time for virtual fashion then! I actually got another model of this dress chest piece with my JK that I had started first, which I mailed and used for a while. I never used a skirt bottom though, I always thought it looked... clunky? With the flap in the front. The bracers are the ones that Nadia come with when she joins you. http://www.image-share.com/upload/3916/121.jpg Also, the tiara is the very first from the Tython missions. I always thought it looked nice for this model, simple and frames her tattoo/face marking well.
  13. I started playing this December. The oldest character I haven't deleted is my male bounty hunter. My favourite overall is my female Jedi Consular, the first character I completed the story to its current point with. Favourite outfit goes to my Sith Warrior. I'll just put them into one image together. http://www.image-share.com/upload/3916/116.jpg EDIT: Another of SW http://www.image-share.com/upload/3916/120.jpg
  14. I doubt we'll ever be able to totally switch sides, as in moving which planet versions and fleets we can visit. If they dare to carry on with the open choice, which they didn't on Ossus, it'll probably be isolated within the ongoing updated story.
  15. For what it's worth, I think the Hutts function well as a story basis to let both imperial and republic characters play hero or anti-hero according to the players desire. Might I just say, as someone completely new to Star Wars (I subbed this december having never watched any of the movies) I would love to have story missions take place on some of the home worlds of the different alien species. It might still work within the alliance narrative. Honestly though, what I mostly just want is companion and class relevance to return, regardless of the overall narrative focus. I'd like for returning companions to start feel like people again, reacting to story events and such. Perhaps they could make a force user/not force user class split in case it's too much work to make specific class missions again. It would be kinda interesting to see them make stories that might be interpreted differently from troopers/agents/hunters/smugglers and sith/jedi.
  16. I think the only characters I might go for emperor/ress with will be my pure dark sith inquisitor and my selfish flirty smuggler chick, but I haven't played either to that point of the story yet so my opinion may change, at least for my smuggler.
  17. Wait, you have to be, at most, a saboteur if your character is originally empire? Now I'm not sure I wanna play Ossus with my LSW. Can I get Jaesa back without doing the main story mission there?
  18. I don't really care to get rid of her, but I'd absolutely love for other companions to take her place as quest giver and story commentator here and there. I don't know if my perspective is different because I'm a new player, but the entire time I played all the stuff relating to eternal throne/empire etc. i kept thinking "when does 'X companion from vanilla' come into play again, why does Theron and Lana feel like the only characters with a constant personality and presence?" Ossus was a step in the right direction. It would just have been nice if the huge placeholder lady Jedi could have been replaced by Nadia, given that my consular had, had no other meaningful interaction with old pals unless you count generic-shan and Iresso-the-one-scene-wonder. I really hope they go back to making having any other companions fun through the story again. It's weird that after chapter 3 they basically just remain in the back and stare blankly unless the story screams "You get to play with this companion now, fun ain't it?" and then give you good ol' Vette fun for half a mission.
  19. Thanks for the replies. I think I'll do the purple-icon flashpoints I can find then.
  20. Hello I'm rather new to this game, just finished chapter 3 with Jedi Consular. I am just a tiny bit confused about the different objectives i can complete now that chapter 3 is over, i just finished Ilum and tried my first flashpoint. I have been playing solo and am only really interested in the parts of the game that advance the overarching story, plus the quests and related companion material, that are associated with the locations you visit. I had a search around the forums and I think I got an ok idea of, how to approach the missions from the ship console in a chronological order, but I wanted to ask about these flashpoints. I noticed the "main quest" marker pop up on a few planets while I completed the vanilla game story, (Balmorra/Taris after chapter 1 for example) but I elected to ignore those for the time being and return if they turn out to have a point to them, if I can get an answer here. Do all the story/main mission icon-flaspoints relate to the main story, or are some of them more self-contained like some of the planet missions like Tatooine? Are there any that I can ignore without missing out and just continue on with the Hutt cartel/chapter 4 missions and so on? Thanks.
