  1. I'd like to add that while Lana/Theron don't show up constantly since Ossus anymore, since then there has been a tendency of "temporary story companions" which feels like a non-solution to me. The point isn't that we don't want Lana/Theron the point is that we want inclusion of the companions that were interesting to us in class missions or that we romanced.
  2. Depends I think. If you don't care about the choices you can still just pick up the Ossus mission on the ship and skip the rest, right? It would default your choices though.
  3. It's not really about what people "feel" is too high, the complaint is that the wrong HP stat is applied, what we think about it doesn't matter, it's a bug that needs fixing. I don't really see how undergearing for a story-mode mission is a real argument. I'm a casual player, everything on my trooper is decently high grade. The enemies up to that first boss don't do anything to me and I drain their HP slowly but surely. Then the boss dude comes up and I can get him down to around 80-85~ HP until my character gets shredded. I'd say that it might be doable for me if we still got that support droid from the old flashpoints. My issue is that it's a ridiculous difficulty spike in comparison to the peons you crush up to that point. This is the first story-mode flashpoint I've ever played where I experienced a boss that is overpowered or has too much health.
  4. I think this will be a minor issue, not something many will encounter but when I was starting the first fight in the "Echoes of Oblivion" quest my character got knocked off the platform and suffered insta-death (annoying). I respawned back in the beginning of the stage but when I once again reached my two opponents the other servant that is with Servant 15 had somehow lodged themself beneath the platform on which you fight them. My two companions could reach him/her and kill them and luckily for me Servant 15 is the target you have to intertact with to progress the quest. He had for some reason stayed topside. However I would assume that if one servant can end up below the platform, then so can the other and if this were to happen it might block other players from progressing the quest (in case Servant 15 ends up outside of range to interact with).
  5. That's kinda funny. When drawn, it looks like your character had a few too many bowls of hot mexican chili yesterday!
  6. I found that whole fight a bit odd, every time my characters get low HP they just automatically revive so I just ended up hammering Valkorion's HP down. Good thing he doesn't have an immune phase like the two others.
  7. Mate, I'm pretty sure anyone could do better than to release material where the HP stat, the most basic stat unit in a game like this, is applied wrongly on a level boss. I mean, I just assume that they did some testing. How would it never come up that suddenly you didn't make a dent in an opponent while he was shredding you to bits, while the opposite had been true up to that point. Difficulty spikes aside that just wild.
  8. Yeah, it's a pity really. I would honestly be completely OK with just switching sides in terms of the story and then making workarounds from there. Supposedly one of the issues is the whole thing with how classes and factions function within the game but I always imagined that a simple workaround would be, instead of refitting the old hubs, making completely new ones. This would probably be a more clumsy approach, too many hubs can be a detriment to the interactive side of a game. Still, it would at least be something if they were to make two new space stations one for republican loyalists/Imperial defectors and one for the other set. That wouldn't really solve anything for other parts of the games, like you mention guilds. I'm mostly in it for the story myself so I can't really speculate about the functionality of those areas.
  9. I don't care a lot about new classes but i'd love the ability to "assign" certain companions to be your active crew, something like "who gets to stay on the ship." My smuggler would throw out White-Knight and Mando-Lady and replace them with Gault, Mako and Vette in a heartbeat.
  10. Same. I had played "peaceful resolution" agents before but on my last agent, who I played to be anti-sith, I was disappointed to find out he just sods off regardless of the approach.
  11. It was more of a tug of war though, the timeline isn't equally forgiving on all planets but on Balmorra and Corellia for example the republic planetary stories take place after the imperial ones.
  12. I don't understand your reasoning, why does class-companions get plot armor? You keep saying there's no reason as if it makes sense, a story doesn't need reason for events to transpire as long as they make sense within the frame of the story. There's no reason for Vaylin to die 10 minutes later either but she does and the story progresses. It's not about "making a fine job" I don't think the Torian/Vette storypoint stands out at all, good or bad.
  13. What do you mean? You lost one of them because your base was under siege and your forces spread too thin to save them both, how's that "no reason?"
  14. No idea man. When I had the same issue I think the fix was fairly simple, I'm sorry I can't recall what it was. What class character is it? Mine was a Consular.
  15. Agree. I really hope there will be some impact if or when we get to officially defect. You mention temple but I don't think she specifically will be an issue as she writes messages around the time of Ossus in the story, affirming that she wishes to stay with republic Commanders. I'd like to see the companions utilised again, even if it were just some of them, the romanceable ones for example. It'd add at least a bit of replay value if it felt like your companion interacted and reacted to the events again.
  16. You switch instance by opening your map and finding the drop-down menu in the bottom right corner of the map interface. Try going down into the alliance base, where your companions are and log out/in while your character is inside there.
  17. I actually remember having that not trigger automatically on one character but I can't quite remember what I did to solve it. Have you tried the basic things? Logging out/in? Galaxy traveling to the fleet and back to Odessen? Switching instances, if Odessen has more than one.
  18. I actually think Onslaught did okay, all tings considered (team left to develop content, funding, playerbase, etc.) We have four different branches right now, loyalist and saboteur on either side, even if it ultimetely only lead to three real results: Even then we actually did have one specific class difference, besides companion returns: I'm really hoping the consular's history with healing dark-side corruption comes into play somehow. I know it's a bit silly to hope for this kind of class difference but I think it would be awesome if that detail might mean someone's unique survival for that class character. The problem with including stuff like that would be that people playing other classes would obviously feel left out.
  19. I have a hard time imagining that, that will happen with this specific story update. It deals with Valkorion after all and so far our character's class and faction hasn't changed anything besides dialogue flavor.
  20. Those two examples have the benefit of having scenarios where it makes sense at least. It's a pity the current companion class system weren't in use back then. Other exaples I'd have liked a crisis point with:
  21. Supposedly Ashara was originally going to have divergent personalities like Jaesa but it was cut before release. I read that on the forum though, so I have no idea if it's true. I think the vanilla story, up to and past corellia, suffer a bit from how companions are apparently essential to all the different teams. I think some of the class/alignment combinations would have been more immersive if there were options to either exile or kill companions that had a moral conflict with the main character. The problem with that though is that it would have to cover all companions and not just a few, which might have been to expansive to write. I think most companions could make sense with any main character alignment, Ashara is a good example of a companion that would make sense to have some sort of crisis point with her master. Another example is Broonmark who's just nuts. I love light side warrior and I always wanted an option to just say "no dude, I don't care for your service, go away."
  22. Alright, a rakghoul event and it's timed so I can recruit Lokin after I hand in my uni project proposal! Once again I kindly request a patch so that we might gain the ability to recruit Lokin without this event.
