  1. Alright, the fix worked for me, but I had to reset the quest first. On the warrior who was already on Ord Mantell, but who I had chosen to postpone playing until the fix, the saboteur option didn't turn up the first time I retried the quest. Resetting it and redoing the initial stage of the quest got me the saboteur option with the SIS dude though.

  4. Curiously this is the first year I was actually aware of this annual collection unlock sale, admittedly I don't follow sale discussions a whole lot, but to see it then not happen is a real pity. I was actually considering using some CC on it, I guess I will be spending nothing then.
  5. As per brand, the Imperial reacts less well than the Republican. Arn of course supports saving people and Blyth has more of a "we need to do better" attitude, so he doesn't disapprove directly. Krovos implies more directly that not getting the cooling rods puts your characters priorities into question.
  6. I only really care about adventuring with my companions if they interact with the story content myself. Broadsword couldn't realistically do that for all companions but I'd love if they focused on giving us options at the very least, they should plan ahead what companions to encourage for a given set of updates. For example I'd be thrilled if they for example decided to include Torian, Akavi and Rass all for the Mandalorian content and then use them consistently. It wouldn't be the same as being able to choose between all our companions, but it would be much more fun to replay if I could get the various interactions and reactions from at least a few realistic companion options.
  7. Same here. I had the option with my loyalist but not with my actual saboteur. Frustrating that the one time it's relevant it's bugged. I am pausing my saboteur characters from progressing until this is fixed.

I was angry to encounter the voiceless interface, I really, really dislike it being used for main quest content, but it was especially frustrating this time because it was randomly implemented at odd points during the mission, in between scenes where the main character was voiced. There was even one point where the game was giving me voiceless interface but my character was still voiced in overworld banter with Petra. Broadsword please stop using this interface for main quests, it is not fun to play with. The content itself was ok I guess. Better than the last Voss update because at least there were some minor differences between Empire and Republic and it involved known characters.

If we ignore the equalizing power of the expansions I'd say Consular is strongest in terms of sheer power, given the emphasis put on their talent and the quantity that it's displayed in the vanilla story. My opinion would be that the Warrior and Knight are somewhat equally portrayed while the Inquisitor has to be saved a few too many times for me to take them seriously as a power to beware. If I were to rank the non-force users I'd say the Trooper and the Agent comes out on top compared to the two merc classes, given that they're actually trained to take on force users.
  10. I think "excellent" is over-selling a fair bit, it was fine enough to me. The general atmosphere, difficulty and the level design were all pretty good. I did appreciate the light puzzle but it wans't anything ground-breaking and there was way too much stealth detection for what I like. Combat for stealth characters should be encouraged with bonuses, not forced from a random spike in stealth-detecting enemies. The whole theme with a big bad in a Voss cave was also rather uninspired, it would have been more interesting if the whole curse and final boss wasn't just a copy-paste of the whole Sel-Makor thing Voss already had going for it. On a scale of 10 I guess I'd give it a 6, not the worst flashpoint ever, but certainly not the most exciting either.
  11. I don't know if it's a new bug, but it hasn't happened before so I'd suspect the update it behind this randomly happening. As the title says it is not a constant issue, mostly my companion does exit stealth and enter combat normally. While playing my latest Agent character though, I have had it happen a couple of times, with several companions. If it is not the update it might be one of the passive ability upgrades to stealth that is causing it.
  12. Arcann is determinant. We won't get anything that focuses on an alignment-specific outcome.
  13. Stealth seems to be occasionally broken for companions on my smuggler. I didn't have any such issues with my inquisitor. It's when I initiate combat from stealth on the smuggler sometimes my companion will remain in stealth and not interact in the fight. When I end stealth manually by clicking the skill they exit stealth with no issues.. This has happened with both Arn and the other manaan pub companion.
  14. Huh, I encountered a lot of bugs but not any with Malgus, at least I don't think so. I fought him with two characters and I did notice that I got close to dying with both of them late in the fight but I assumed that was because he had some strong attack with a dumb difficulty spike, some bosses have those. But maybe I just got lucky too.

Man, and my first thought after the cargo droid part was "what was the point of that?" having to just carry one thing to another thing right next to it and then shift back to my own character again. Well, turns out the point was to mess with the character controls only for it to bug out on the player and be annoying. Bioware, such small tasks are not fun, just let us interact with a console like normal, or make the mini-game more substantial and, y'know, not buggy..

  17. Same, story content is what makes it interesting to play with the new mechanics. To me it'dd be a bit like playing Monopoly without the board.

  19. The story focus also differ somewhat between the Warrior and the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor's story is about the accumulation of power and the prize it requires, a moe outwards-seeking kind of story, while the Warrior story is a more direct look into the intricacies of Sith political workings, plus a journey that takes a more inwards look at the character's role in the Sith hiearchy. Anyway, we're getting this off topic

I don't know that I necessarily feel they are dumb myself, rather I feel like the story itself doesn't really do enough to differentiate a lot between a LS and DS Jedi, for both classes, besides isolated choices and the lack of cameos when you happen to cause an optional death here and there. In the Sith stories being LS is much better integrated as a running theme, so much so that for the Warrior you really feel like you are a secret hero hiding amongst the villains, all the while you continously surprise the republicans you encounter and you can even influence a whole companion's alignments, plus Malavai Quinn also comes off as a more shrewd individual. If you could have influenced Ashara, as it had seemingly been intended originally, LS Inquisitor would have a + point there too.

Sure, I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't play some pub characters that could desire to defect, just that I haven't really been interested in playing anyone that's DS, or republican critic I suppose, enough to defect. My most militant Trooper, propably very similarly to Jorgan I suspect, still prefers republic bureaucracy and hypocrisy to subservience to the whims of the Sith and like I said my neutral Smuggler, who was not above hitting reublican targets, doesn't think the Empire offers anymore freedoms than the republic, if anything her preferece would just be to skirt the boundairy of the two powers and take what she could get while they fought, pressed to choose between them she prefers the republic though. Have to admit that I've never been able to play a DS Jedi character, I just don't find their vanilla stories supports that route very well, it feels like you're still playing a mostly LS story while you do bad things here and there. So I prefer to be boringly traditional with my Jedi.
  24. "Worth" is a bit hard to apply I think, if you're into story roleplay it is more or less satisfying depending on the character in question. For example with my LS Warrior and my neutral Hunter they'd prefer to defect officially instead of working as incognito. On the other hand with my LS Agent I find the content fits her character quite nicely, it's similar to the work she did previously when she chose to spy for the republic in the vanilla story. I have as of yet had no republic defectors, I haven't really been able to play as a character I feel that would have the desire to defect. Even my profiteering smuggler draws the line at joining fully with the totalitarian regime.
