  1. Cross server ranked is required to play literally the best in the entire galaxy...that's it. We have a lot of people logging in everyday, so...the real problem lies in getting a system in that makes more people want to que, to develop their pvp characters. Period.
  2. Give pvp a shot! It will give you something to develop. It will make you excited and very pissed off sometimes, but at least you won't be alone. Grinding alt after alt isn't really "playing the game". You mentioned RP. I'm not exactly sure what that constitutes, but I like to write from time to time. What I've done is create little short stories for a few of my toons just for a little flavour. You could try doing the same on a platform like enjin. Join a RP guild that uses it. You'll find a lot of them share this sort of sentiment. But mostly, just start to develop some pvp action. It's not as intimidating as many would think.
  3. Alright. Sounds like we got some of you crazy bastards coming out tomorrow night to hang out in the Den between ques. The theme will be groups of two for sparring in the pit. We'll mix the pairs up for resurrections. Nobody wants to race back from the rezpad... So don't be a dick. Otherwise, stay in illum for zergderps.
  4. Same for Ebon Hawk. Regular warzones are dominated by pubs for the most part. They'll actually que tanks and heals, where the majority of imps roll their deeps. This isn't to say the imperial pvp'ers don't roll premades either... It's just that pubs are more serious about how they approach regs.
  5. A great place to practise is outlaws den. If you had your kickball group together that is. On ebon, we're working on making the den our permanent sparring centre. Check it out.
  6. I'll try to check it out tonight. If things run smoothly it could prove quite usefull in establishing some Yolostar continuity..maybe get more players communicating in ranked. On that note, it's been damn slow... Either everyone's on alts or they're afraid to que. We need to get players all queing at the same time, or at least focus the flow for a certain time period. After waiting an hour in que the other night, I just went back to my alt.
  7. Not sure really. It's one of those things where the Den has everything I need. There's a trader to window shop with and a mailbox, etc. I'll prob just leave my toons parked there and scream in Yolostars to update. Additionally it's important for everyone to join Yolostar chat when they're on their alts. That way if somebody else on their main says there's some action in the Den, we'll all know about it. We can then log on our level 60's, and get some sparring in.
  8. Haha what poetry. Ya man, it might be slower with everyone on the alt wagon, but I'll be docking my ranked toons on the bloody sands of Tatooine. Once again this isn't an event, it's just an effort to get everyone into a new PVP groove.
  9. PvPers... It's time to get off the fleet, to get off your ship's dummy, and to get yourself into my Tatooine backyard. I wish I could plop my decorations in the outlaws den..,but the local decor will have to suffice. Every night I will be asking the available Yolostars to head over to The Outlaw's Den for duels, sparring, spec testing, comp tryouts... you name it. Bring your ranked toon over and park your space RV in the Tatooine sand. I want to see this server's ranked players working towards a strong fellowship inside and outside the ring. We'll have a chat channel available for the Yolostars to hop into as well. Hell, my goal with this is to learn how to be a better player myself, and to rattle some rust off. New players who are thinking of ranked are more than welcome to check things out, to test their mettle. Please feel free to ask questions about classes or specs, try new ideas out to train for the main event. I for one will be honoured to assist any jugs for example, just like I know my friends would offer assistance on their chosen classes. "drumroll" Here's the really interesting part. What kind of blood-in-the-sand battle would be complete without some brawler betting? Rules for this are as follows... When a player or team choses to place bets, they both front the credits to a third party...me. I'll hand the total pot to the winner(s), plus throw in some of my own credits to sweeten the pot. In case you don't know me, well I put Yolostars on the map. I have millions of credits and don't plan on ripping anyone off. These ultimate duels aren't to be taken lightly, and the entry showdown bets begin at 100k. But... let's not get worried about that right now. First, just get your pvp arse on your main, down to Outlaw's Den on Tatooine. (The priority passage is fairly cheap, get it). All Yolostars are expected to show up...the rest of the server will follow. Finally, if you are new to server, type /cjoin Yolostars to enter our Global Ranked Arena Chat Channel.
  10. This is ranked revamp Suggestion thread. Go back to trolling your ranked ques... Baddie
  11. This is by far the laziest and most assinine post I've read all week.
  12. Tell them to go f*ck themselves. Keep insulting them relentlessly until they put you on ignore. This is the next step of your pvp education. I'm serious.
  13. Just giving a final bump before my forum sub runs out. Once again, the current system would work if we had a large PVP population...but we don't, so the developers should seriously consider a few tweaks to our end game pvp. Just look at the mechanics of this new proposed system,it needs some polish but it would revolutionize the game. You can't execute a system that places faith in the playerbase integrity. You need a system that allows players to discover their calibre levels through fighting in tiers, and allows them to establish their own levels of success with the token rewards.
  14. Orbital strike becoming exclusive to snipers was probably their way of trying to get more players to roll them(stupid)... Explosive probe removal was just plain dumb... buuut hidden strike knockdown.....I have yet to see the reasoning or requirement for that, like was it removed because of people complaining about it in pvp? I need to understand the logic behind this removal.. I find it completely hilarious...dumbfounded.
  15. So what was the deal with hidden strike and knockdown...like what were the real reasons it was removed. Also why was orbital strike removed? I had an op at launch but only made it up to lvl 40, then focused instead on my jug. I recently started playing him again and find a lot of these unpleasant changes. Can someone bring me up to speed why operatives keep getting core abilities removed... Sounds too ridiculous to be true.
  16. No it doesn't. The guy is simply voicing discontentment with the way pvp'ers are treated by the losers running this game.
  17. Actually, in the Gold Tier, you'll find a negative -20 rating per loss. So once a player has gained enough rating to enter the Gold Tier level of competition, it is then that he will truly prove whether or not he deserves to be there. Chances are he'll either push the current leaders back down to Silver Tier, or in turn will get pushed down, and again will have to fight his way back up. It's because of the harsher rating losses that Gold Tier has, that will warrant the need for having a Silver tier in the first place. On that note...No. Not everyone will become Gold Tiered competitors with this new system. It's the Token Rewards System, that will allow players to get the items/gear that they want, and again, create their own levels of success...regardless of what Tier they may be in. Sigh, It doesn't really matter to much anymore for me if the developers decided to pull their heads out of their arses or not. I let my sub go today, not for the purpose of some mad rage rant, but simply because I have less time to play...away for work/injured hand..etc. The most disconcerting thing that will make me drop this endevour, is this... It's not the lack of communication from the developers on this thread that has pissed me off... Instead, It's been the lack of support from the community of pvp'ers. I mean, ya, this has been a boring thread with numbers, and a little imagination is required when substituting the new ratings system...for that reason many have skipped it. Hell, if you were to read back, people have posted how it wouldn't work, without even reading the mechanics on the front page..lol. I did have alot of improvements to make from the first draft, but I think the new updated system is much better due to the initial criticism, and number punching. This system would work and it would totally improve all aspects of our pvp end game, of that fact I have no doubt. There are still aspects that need to be addressed, such as you mentioned like Ranked Season lengths... I'm not sure they would need shorter seasons with this system. On the contrary, longer Ranked seasons would probably be better, because the Tokens earned for winning games would be additional incentive, and thus would require a longer period of time to achieve a sense of completion...maybe a new season with every major update, which of course would introduce new items and gear to be purchased with the Tokens.
  18. Your cross faction idea would work amazingly well in a couple new Yavin-type maps. Definitely room for that, and having players awakened that when they que up Solo Ranked, they could end up in a mixed faction game. It would make certain players on smaller factions pull their socks up for sure. We'd only need one cross faction arena map for that purpose, but of course more new maps would be better. Also, regardless of season length(not sure what the best duration would be), once a player has reached Gold Tier, that player would instantly be granted access to the Ranked Mega Elite Server (complete with free character copy). On that note, the player would want to have the best gear setup before they crossed over. Think of it as though the current servers are like the provinces of Rome, and the Gold Tier server hosts the main events in the coliseum. Make the Gladitorial Arena Server have the coolest themes, and special perks not found on the current servers. Haha, just food for thought at this point.
  19. The biggest issues with population you see are a result of the current ranked system. The ironic part is that those flaws become amplified as people stop queing. We have a clear track record of how players are behaving and yes I do believe that a new system would totally improve our end game pvp. I like your final point. I agree that reaching Gold Tier status should be a requirement for aquiring access to a revamped pts type server, that would be at the end of a much longer season. I'll elaborate more on your ideas tonight, for I have get off to work. Thanks for the reply man, I'm excited to discuss some more of your ideas and augment the new proposed system with your input.
  20. That might be the sentiment for players who are renown for queing with vested interests(in solo que). No Thanks, but I'm pretty damn sure anyone speaking strongly against this new Tiered Ratings System, is only because it will force them out of their comfort zones on that regard. Group ranked is theoretically the purest form of competitive arenas and the New System would heavily encourage new teams to test the waters, and they would not get punished for trying out new players/comps at the start. People don't want competition? Speak for yourself... The new Tiered Ratings and Awards System is unique because it places players into tiers that represent their skill levels. Accessibility for these tiers is present with additional incentives to what we currently have in place. The new system enables each player to essentially be competing against others of the same Tier, and inevitably allows them to establish their own levels of success among their peers.... It's all of these positive competitive factors in addition to the eagerness for good fight. You obviously haven't even read the mechanics of the updated version(on first page), for if you had, I wouldn't have had to read this arrogant tripe you typed. I was expecting more from you, truth be told, but I thank you for the reply.
  21. I think it's a great change. Really great actually.
