  1. Stealth in this game works absolutely fine for me in PvP and I haven't even used any skill points in trying to make it better. Also the OP obviously hasn't played FFXI where the only chance you had in out running a mob was reaching a zone line and going through it to another area. Or running through water if they happened to track you by scent instead of sight.
  2. May they could allow you to have a spec for PvP which is only usable in Warzones.
  3. lol That sounds very hilarious; pistols on a Jedi....
  4. Just in case someone from Bioware is reading this I just wanted to put my two cents in and say I don't want third party add ons. Any additions to the UI I want them done by Bioware. Additionally, people make me laugh. You need to look at logs to see if you stood in an AOE that you shouldn't have...? You need threat meters to make sure things are hitting you? If you're healer is taking damage. They're not hitting you. You want mouse over healing? Just use F1, F2 etc to quickly target your group members. As for DPS meters they are not needed. Never in my 10 years of playing MMOs have we not killed something because DPS was too low (unless it was FFXI and something was too many levels too high for the group, but that is different). You just need to match your survivabililty to match the DPS. Maybe this is just my outlook because my friend and I are usually in positions to do that.
  5. Go over your strategy and determine where you can make improvements. I've been able to kill a lot (won't say all cause I'm not sure if I missed any), up to level 27 with my Shadow without a companion.
  6. lol I rarely ever have my companion out. Even when I am soloing on a different character. It just doesn't feel 'right' in some ways because we are supposed to have one. I'm not sure what the point of this topic is, I was just curious of anyone else felt the same I suppose.
  7. I agree. I love T7. But even then, not as my own companion. I'd rather not have one.
  8. I knew they would exist in SWTOR for a long time and I thought I'd enjoy them more than I do. I find they feel like a glorified pet and I've never really liked pet classes. I play a Scoundrel and I am playing the game with a friend, who is a Sentinel with T7 (who she loves), but I just can't stand having my companion out. The only time I do, is during a few of the Heroic quests, but that's it. Anyone else feel the same way?
  9. I'm with the OP on this one. I find the game feels very small and closed in and I definitely miss the more open world feel. I'm betting though it feels this way because we take our ship from planet to planet, but still they feel small somehow.
  10. I'll be happier when they get around to fixing some bugs and/or optimizing the graphics a bit more. My computer shouldn't have as much trouble running the game as it does.
  11. This shouldn't be the case then you'll have people at max level able to switch between two completely different roles and the game isn't designed this way. It's not like FFXI.
  12. I keep seeing the same things said over and over about which version of WoW we should be comparing SWTOR to and the real answer is both. The car analogy in itself is complete bull because that's an entirely different product and market. You're not going to have Toyota runnin to your house going "we updated the breaks in your car!". Everyone also seems to forget that wow hasn't been in development for 7 years, it's been live for 7 years. It was announced in September 2001 and you can bet they had already been working on it by then, so it's been in the works for 10 years at least. Now people keep saying features are missing but someone had to decide what a finished product for SWTOR would be, otherwise they could just keep going and going in the development process and this is true for EVERY GAME. It was most likely decided a few months in early development of what features and standard the game needed to have to be required for launch. Now you can always go back and say we need to add this feature etc but someone has to put their foot down and say NO because the game has to meet deadlines. Just saying.
  13. They e most likely RMT characters making easy money. Me and a friend of mine have already gotten emails from credit sellers directing us to a website to buy credits. So it's very possible. I can't imagine any regular player constantly going afk. The occasional one maybe but not consistently.
  14. I find this baffling. The last MMO I played that had chat bubbles was The Sims Online.... XD Is there really that big of a demand for them? As long as it's a toggle, and I don't have to see a single chat bubble, then I'll support it for people who want it but consider my mind blown.
  15. rofl FFXIV hasn't even merged servers yet and they had one of the worst MMO launches ever.
  16. If its working at intended, it makes sense, but it feels awkward in PVP. I don't notice it PVE myself because it makes sense in some ways that animations need to finish before the damage hits. It needs some fixing/adjusting whether it's working as intended or not.
  17. If they didn't add it by now, it probably won't happen. With that being said, I really do want them to add a day/night cycle as well, along with weather. Right now the sky boxes just aren't cutting it for me. The world in this game doesn't feel realistic the environments are too static. It's not game breaking by any means, but this game isn't that great to look at it. It doesn't feel like an open world, (which really it's not), but I feel like I'm constantly just in a series of small areas that aren't attached to each other in very many ways. I was reading a few posts back where apparently it's done this way to keep the mood of each planet, well seriously? What's the mood here? Static and boring? It's not realistic for the sky to not be moving, for it to be the exact same time (based on the sky) all the time. Whoever decided that this is better needs to take a look out the window sometimes.
  18. I love the theory behind the PvP in SWTOR, the execution not so much. Like everyone else, the ability delay and FPS is pretty brutal. I also wish we had more game types, but not before fixing the issues with the current ones.
  19. Well, you don't need to win every match.... That being said, I kind of like the way it's done. I've always kind of hating waiting till I hit level cap before I can PvP.
  20. I'm not really sure what to say about game breaking bugs at launch, other than it happens. However, I agree that it shouldn't (to some degree). But all the bugs I reported during my play test weekend (namely ones that actually gave me 'real errors' with crashing) were fixed. Give it time still.
  21. Why not just use the /who function and the LFG Comment? That's what we did in FFXI.
  22. I also feel like pointing out that I've never had a group fail because we felt someone's DPS wasn't high enough. lol
  23. Fair enough, but I mean in the overall perspective of that player. It doesn't matter, statistically they will still be the worst one of the five player. The difference will be minimal, but they still be. I'm aware, this is a little bit of a stretch because it won't always be the case. I've rarely seen this happen. Usually if a player is bad enough to warrant a boot from the group, then everyone isn't having fun, because that player is making someone's job difficult. lol Oh I plan on doing them. Will I do with the maximum amount of people? Probably not, I rarely have. I've killed things with 4 people that normally would take 18 or with two or three that would normally take six. It's just more fun to me.
  24. I'll be honest and say haven't read all 15 pages of this thread. I stopped at around 10, but I wanted to put my 2 cents in on the topic. The number one meters are bad is because statistically someone will always be on the bottom, does that make them a BAD player? No, it does not. They could just be having an off day, be distracted by something in real life and who knows what else. However, elitist jerks will frown upon the person who ends up at the bottom because they're simply on the bottom. For example, say you could measure the DPS of every DPS player on the same boss and take the top 5 with the highest average and put them against each other. One of them will come out on the bottom. They won't be a bad player, but statistically, they'll suck. If someone is a bad player, or a mediocre player, who the hell are we to pass judgement on them? They are enjoying their playtime and that's the purpose of an MMO. If you don't like grouping with them, you leave the group. My MMO experience only extends out to LoTRO and FFXI, but my favourite experiences from both games are when I duo something with someone else that would normally take a group of six or more to kill/complete. That's where real 'skill' (I use the term skill lightly in any game reference) comes in, not min/maxing to be the best out of an 18 person raid or 4 person party.
