  1. Ilum 0/10 World PVP 0/10 Class balance 4/10 Faction (im)balance 1/10 Warzones 4/10 Overall 2/10
  2. To answer your question directly: A Hutt faction However Star Wars Galaxies had a long history of epic world PVP fights as well and, you guessed it, evolved around 2 factions. Why did it succeed in SWG? There were no battlegrounds, world PVP was the only PVP. There was a strong community, people wanted to "pwn" by killing the opposite faction. You could also talk to the opposite faction and even change factions. There was a personal combat rating, killing someone would increase your rating, dying would lower it. There were player/guild owned factional bases. These inevitably attracted members of the opposite faction and would lead to full scale wars. There were player bounties, this would always escalate into retaliation and gank squads and eventually battles near player cities. Skill > Gear Several reasons why it will never work in SWTOR: It cannot handle more than 20 players in any nearby area. Instanced zones (face it SWTOR is a single player game with Co-op functionality) No point in taking or defending objectives No point in killing someone else (or staying alive for that matter) Travelling takes way too long, by the time you finally get to Tatooine, then have to taxi to the nearest outpost and then slowerbike to where your mate got killed, the opposite faction will have died of old age. Massive faction imbalance, every single server is fully dominated by Imperials. Massive gear imbalance because of Ilum 1.1 exploit Massive class imbalance (Sorc + Mercenary which account for 40% of the playerbase) Gear > Skill
  3. 202k dmg on your sorc? You gotta teach me how to be afk 75% of the fight and not get booted.
  4. Wait what? Not only did they have 6 years of refinement by being able to copy all the good things from WoW, they also had the massive and easy opportunity to improve everything people didn't like about WoW and avoid the same mistakes games like Warhammer, AoC, Aion and Star Trek had. And still SWTOR has more bugs than vanilla WoW had and has 2004 graphics as well. Already the amount of subscriptions have dropped by about 50% to 500k and in another month this game will probably host around 350k people, similar to EVE Online. As Kotor 3 this game is very good, as an MMO it's the worst attempt of a paid MMO ever.
  5. Plenty of solo content at level 50? What game are you playing cause it ain't in TOR.
  6. So yeah cross server PVP brackets, like the original poster suggested. Maybe when Bioware realizes at this current point they have lost half their subscribers and now have about the same amount as Rift, maybe they start improving the game seriously.
  7. This. Additionally we have all seen how well they designed and changed Ilum.
  8. Whe does this critting for 7k come from? I've never ever hit for more than 4k, even though my Operative has acquired a decent amount of gear. I don't even attack heavy armored players cause I know I can only take half their health away before I'm permastunned or rooted until I die. Without valor rank 60 the Operative is a joke in PVP and now the sole reason for our viability, the burst damage, is gone, along with our mediocre sustained dps. It's a shame the Operative got nerfed so hard because the biggest amount of players, the sorcerers, couldn't stand getting killed by a valor rank 60 operative, when they had no gear and were on half health. Funny how this game fails harder than all previous MMO's combined.
  9. This single line made me forget everything you posted. Shame on you.
  10. Bioware implemented the Trinity System in this game, so they have to introduce dual specs as well. I'm not even gonna explain it, it's as simple as that.
  11. Five stars cause this abuse will be the end of PVP
  12. The concealment specced Operative comes closest to being a rogue. High burst, but low survivability and low mobility. The Sith Assassin doesn't come close to our burst capabily, but has higher overall dps, better range and better mobility. The assassin simply doesn't feel like an actual stealth class, you can better compare them with the sith marauder, where the marauder has charge and the sin has stealth.
  13. I noticed the exact same thing. In PVE my dmg hasn't changed, I can still down mobs in the same rotation. But in PVP I have an increasingly hard time to kill opponents, whereas before I could usually take down enemies provided I engaged them from stealth and used a trinket. Currently I'm not even going above 3k anymore with crits, which is lower than every other class can do to me.
  14. Put the link to your thread in your signature, that will help people to keep seeing it.
  15. You recalled wrong. Rogues have had vanish since day one. And yes shadows/assassins have it and operatives/scoundrels too, it's on a 3 minute cooldown, but can be shorter depending on talent spec. Aoe spells or dots will remove stealth, falling damage will not.
  16. A Sorcerer's chain lightning hit me and 6 of my guildmates for 17,944 damage. Definitely rerolling to this FOTM class.
  17. You mean like Age of Conan? Yes that's sarcasm, but a perfect example.
  18. We can burn marauders, assassins, snipers and other operatives, but we are fairly useless against mercenaries, powertechs, juggernauts and ESPECIALLY sorcerers. Sorcerers are the true gods of PVP and worst of all, almost 25% of the entire playerbase rolled a Sorc.
  19. Since I knew that the highest amount of people played sorcerers, I started to wonder: How big is that amount exactly? So over the past week I've been scanning the total amount of level 50's online, at any given and random time, to get the most reliable and true figure. This is taken from the EU PVP Bloodworthy server, Imperial side. Here's the result: Juggernaut 14,16% Marauder 10,03% Assassin 16,09% Sorcerer 23,81% Powertech 7,71% Mercenary 15,00% Operative 8,23% Sniper 4,97% I didn't make this post with any real purpose in mind, but I figure there's plenty of people who find this interesting.
  20. Massive BS. The max crits you'll get as a lvl 14 Operative is about 2k on backstab and you only have shiv and backstab. No hidden strike or laceration. You'll get roflstomped by every single class out there. Lucky enough that changes later on. I consider hidden strike to be my reward after being useless for 36 levels.
  21. Don't forget Tarren Mill vs Southshore and Strangletorn Vale.
  22. Look at the scores of a random warzone and see how much damage a full geared lvl 50 Operative does. It will be somewhere between 100k and 120k. Now look at any lvl 25 Mercenary or Sorcerer in that same battleground. I rest my case.
  23. Shame on you for not rolling a Powertech, Mercenary, Juggernaut or Sorcerer and be the stone to our scissors.
