  1. I've wondered about this possibility of something like this happening for quite a while now, I think it is a great idea.
  2. I'm still running Windows 7 and the the launcher updates have installed smoothly without any problems logging in or playing the game. I did not see much difference at first, but seems like the more times I log in the faster it becomes. Keep up the good work!
  3. I recently purchased D-R3D and was disappointed to find there is no customization available for it. Perhaps the development team might consider creating one (or more) if they were to find themselves with a bit of extra time.
  4. I appreciate the ideas you have expressed here but find myself in disagreement with some of them. It is interesting that you say you don't care care what everyone else thinks about your opinions (which you have self described as "lacking full inculcation in the lore/extended universe take on the Force") but solicit what others think about about them. I cannot resist the temptation to respond. First, let me say that I have read twenty plus of the canonized Star Wars books and seen all the movies several times, and play SWTOR regularly. It does NOT make me a Star Wars authority, in fact I find myself greatly lacking when it comes to Star Wars facts and history. You describe your treatise as your take on the Star Wars universe but address the Force as your subject. The following is my take on the force. The force is an interesting concept (power) used by good and evil, is taught and teaches and yet somehow remains a mystery. I am as ignorant as the next person when it comes to understanding the force as I think, it was intended to be a mystery. My understanding of it, limited as it may be, is the result of the books I've read, the movies I've watched, and the SWTOR game that I play. Like you, I have formed opinions although I can say they are more malleable than yours. Change I'm told is a universal law, and since the force seems to be universal I tend to think it is subject to change also ... or is it impossible for universal laws to change? Point: force blind may not be permanent in species. Perhaps "midichlorians should never have existed" but since they do, who is to say who/what they may turn up in? Sith and Jedi (and other force sensitives to some degree) use the force. The force serves both good and evil sources...why would it choose/permit only the good source (Jedi) to access "immortality as a force apparition". If the force is indeed a neutral source of power which is bent to the purposes of the user, surely the evil source (a powerful Sith) would have access to "immortality as a force apparition" also. A powerful Jedi "using merely physical martial abilities" when dealing with martial conflict instead of wielding the force as the primary is the basic principle of NOT misusing/abusing the ability of having force access. I seem to have read that or seen that somewhere. Obviously, Sith force users do not limit themselves by this principle. Using the force as a healing tool can be a part of the gift provided by the force, but must be learned and the force user must be trained in the use thereof. I recall several healing situations in the books I read, and I agree that "force healing would have upended several point plots in SWTOR" AND in the movies as well. Clearly exceptions have been made which are quite arbitrary and unsatisfactory. Agreed: powerful "force wielders are far, far more formidable than their will-die-and-stay-dead tech-reliant force blind counterparts." I know very little about the Rakatta and their connection to the force, but again, who/what can place a limitation on midichlorians? I.e. D.V., immaculate conception, unprecedented power. I was influenced by Darth Marr's instruction to my character in SWTOR about the force. He spoke it as am immortal appartion (after Valkorian killed him, but later in the wilderness on Odessen). It contributed to what I think about the force: "There is no death. There is only the force, and it has a plan. The will of the force is a flowing current. You can follow or fight it, but it is always there. The force is a paradox. It empowers and it imprisons. It destroys and unifies. It binds the galaxy together, and tears people apart. It has a will but needs a commander."

  6. Same problem. Long conversation with support, no solution, they requested the diagnostic file to look for the problem, sent yesterday. Reply today was ..."the issue you are facing is due to NTDLL issue." No solutions were provided in addition to the others already tried except ..."please upgrade your windows to window 10". Reading other replies in this thread indicate that is not the solution either. They apologized for no ideal solution, said that they are low on staff due to the "pandemic" and are doing their best ..."to keep the game alive during the pandemic" and that they are ..."really motivated and are trying our best to provide the best gaming experience possible". I'm thinkin' EA coders really muxxured the cookie this time.
  7. The only pack I've seen offered for months is the Ultimate Cartel Pack. I've been saving for and watching for the Seneschal and Gemini packs...will they ever be offered again?
  8. After reading posts about the difficulty of veteran mode, I waited until my gear was mostly 246 with a few augments to try veteran mode on KOTFE solo with my Serenity spec Jedi Shadow. I, like many of the posters in this thread, found it not to be a middle ground between Story mode and Master mode. There is a significant difference between Story mode and Veteran mode. Admittedly I have not tried Master mode but strongly suspicion that Veteran mode is not the middle ground. I learned some things about my weapons and skills and was able to get to the last Droid with Darth Marr but no matter what I do I cannot defeat him, tried many times with different techniqes etc. I am in agreement with several posters here who have stated that the Veteran mode on KOTFE (can't speak for KOTET since I haven't tried it in Veteran mode) should be modified to truly be a middle ground.
  9. I've been through this cave twice now with separate toons in story mode, no problem, but I decided to try veteran mode with this one and Vaylin owns me. I have the survival gear, have tried different tactics, but I am dead in short order with my assassin. I could use some insight with tactics defeating Vaylin in veteran mode, please.
  10. I have no problem with a grind from time to time, my suggestion re: A Kindly Old Monster is that it would be nice if the taxi service arrived closer to Lokin's lab (and the Spike during the Raghoul EventJ), or perhaps easier, just place a Quick Travel nearby. A grind is one thing but to spend so much time traveling to the mission location is maddening for me. Not having a Bio- skill is definitely a restriction (would be nice if another skill or two were included that could upgrade Lokin to level 10), but it can be circumvented via drops from the Raghoul Event...not as efficient as having the Bio- skill though and the travel time is...have I said "maddening" yet?
  11. Ditto what Rydlin said...as time passes it becomes more and more difficult to form a group for the H4's that absolutely require a group to complete. If added to the Group Finder I'm sure it would make completing some of these possible.
  12. 'Been my experience that some of the Macrobinocular H4 is soloable but not all. 'Haven't been able to find a group to complete it and have chosen not to belong to a guild so if the H4's were added to the Group Finder it could help me to finish this wonderful Heroic and perhaps a few others.
  13. Just finished the first 6 chapters of the Fallen Empire as a Sith Assassin...like the graphics, like the story line, the new companions are likable and interesting. Levelsync did not truly seem to come into play except that no battle was more than I could handle with standard gear but then I suppose levelsync (I am level 64 presently with this character) is the reason no battle was too much to handle. Only true complaint at this time is that there is way too much movie and not enough battle. I don't want a game for a movie, I go to the movies to watch a movie.
  14. I too am a subscriber and regularly craft and spend money on cartel items and for the same reasons you do because I enjoy playing the game solo. I am in complete agreement with everything you said. I will not be playing this game as often any more and I'm sure not at all eventually.
