  1. Is this a joke? If you have electro net up almost any melee is a free kill unless they sacrifice their CC breaker to close to gap (they'll still take a crapload of damage from the dot if they move though) or a jugg that uses ED, and even then unless they break electro net they'll still eat damage for a good 10 seconds, so even with ED things are still in your favor. The only melee classes that should give you trouble are good stealthers and good carnage marauders because kiting them is pretty hard due to predation. Juggs shouldn't even be a problem, you have a 10sec hydraulics, use it! Not to mention the pretty crazy damage output you have when playing Gunnery. If you think playing a melee is easier then you're in for a very bad surprise, especially when the majority of people in WZ's are ranged. There's a reason as to WHY they are... and it's definitely not because ranged are underperforming.

  3. Holy cow!!!! I didn't see the new PTS notes. Wow....bioware finally did something decent to the class. It seems like I won't be alternating between my mara and jug anymore, I'm gonna shelve my Veng Jugg and play my Carnage mara with joy now, I won't need 6-10 freaking massacres to proc scream anymore, just that is an immense buff.

    ED is fine

    I suspect that the round lasted less than a minute...and the fighting itself less than 40seconds.

I wouldn't exactly call it counter productive since we're better off with it than without it at all, but I agree with you that it does feel somewhat stupid o yell at your healer to stop healing you for 5 seconds (because I do it too). In UR was nerfed because of Smash, the other specs's UR was just fine. Not to mention morons who say that sentinel survivability is like that of tanks are either just terrible at DPS'ing or they try to tunnel Sentinels through Saber ward and Rebuke and then wonder why they take less damage. So just because the class had a 5 second 99% dmg reduction on a 1m 15sec/45sec for smash (With the set bonus of course) they had tank-like survivability? Sure. Nowadays though, that nerf is just pointless, seeing how Smash's DPS got nerfed very very heavily the UR nerf is unwarranted because it never was a problem with the other specs. Still, I wouldn't say we're in a bad spot DPS wise, heck, even Smash still tops the charts with ease unless you're up against some sorcs/mercs freecasting their butts off. The thing is, sentinels are probably one of the classes whose level of performance drastically increases when they get a healer on their team, as we're not as self-sufficient compared to other melee specs.

  15. In other words as soon as you use any ability where the blade gets out/disappears from your character's hands >< They fixed the Dual Saber's effects quite fast, I don't know why it's taking them so long to fix it for normal sabers.

In all honesty I'd rather take a target drop and a stealth out for 3 seconds that comes with a 50% dmg reduction on a 45sec CD than a Leap to an ally on a 20sec CD that heals me for 2k if I have the pvp set...not to mention how in many opportunities Intercede won't get you out of range and the ranged classes attacking you can still do so.
  19. ^This, I can't emphasize how swapping to Soresu without the proper talents that reduce the cost of abilities (those in the tank tree mainly) makes your life harder when you try to DPS. I very rarely run a weird 8/36/2 hybrid in Soresu form and if I'm not VERY careful with my rage management things can go very very badly!

I don't take blood ward simply because it's a 16% heal every 3 minutes...you can easily live without it Your dots alone with berserk heal you for much much MUCH more than that. The reason I don't take accuracy is because I spend points in Cloak of Carnage to help better fuel Retaliations WHILE cloak of Pain is active thus reducing it's active cooldown as much as possible. Although you could very well take the points off the AoE DR and get more accuracy. The only specs you need the AoE DR for are Smashers, AP (very rare right now) and those Hybrid Sorcs (they have chain lightning and death field), so in all honestly you could go without it and get more accuracy I take the points for the off-hand dmg simply because our main White Damage Abilities have off-hand hits (think Annihilate, Rupture, Vicious Slash)

I don't know, I find the Slash animation on sentinels really cool looking, I just cant stand Vicious Slash though, so maybe that's why I'm biased towards sentinel but I feel like it just has MUCH better passive survivability. Not to mention how Intercede can often fail as en escape mechanism depending how far exactly your allies are, if you can't get out of the enemy's range or if you're rooted, Intercede is pretty useless, whereas Camo is a complete Target drop.

Not to be rude, but I disagree with that entirely, a well played Focus sentinel will bring much more utility to a team that a Focus Guard can ever dream of, 6% dmg increase on force attacks is about the only advantage DPS wise that Guardians have over sentinels, and sentinels make up for that increase in force by pumping out larger DPS on all other attacks. Not to mention Focus guardians are much squishier than Focus Sentinel and without Focused Defense they just melt, their passive survivability is terrible and they still lack a viable way to escape focus fire. Let's not forget that sentinels have a healing debuff along with a pretty sick DMG/Healing buff and Force Camo, which is a godsend for escaping focus fire.
