  1. The more complicated the system is, the more prone to potential bugs and exploits. That's not good.
  2. I am preferred for more than 4 months already and still can post.
  3. Since preferred players can now post on forums it would be nice to allow them to access PTS, too (with access to full subscription benefits to PTS only) to help with testing. I never understood the logic behind the need to pay you real money, to help you test stuff. It's completely backwards.
  4. This thread is about retired CM items. Old sub rewards, old event items and old GS items were never released on CM, thus are irrelevant for the purpose of the thread. I am not a forum moderator, feel free to post them, they may simply ignore or delete it as they please. But it's not very polite to derail the thread.
  5. This is a reading comprehension skill issue. The original post is fine.
  6. Some people should perhaps reread the OP, especially this sentence: "use this thread as it will be used only for previously released items that are not currently available in the Cartel Market or from a vendor.", since they derail the thread by asking for items that are either available from a vendor like the Dark Disciple Armor Set, or were never released in the first place like Emote: Think and many others. Meanwhile, speaking about items that Broadsword specifically asks about, I would like to see a return of these: R-30017 Aikion Blaster, CZ-13K Guerrilla Armor Set, Destroyer Armor Set, Investigator's Armor Set, MA-44 Combat Armor Set, Noble Commander's Armor Set, Outlaw's Armor Set, Pathfinder's Armor Set, X-3 Techmaster Armor Set.
  7. The solution for AFK players is to stop giving participation rewards and it doesn't have to be as harsh as going back to win-only requirement. Victory have to still give more rewards than a defeat but they should put bigger emphasis on contribution by reworking medals/objectives system even further to ensure AFK/non-contributors get nothing no matter if they win or lose and real contributors get good rewards no matter if they are an unlucky solo players in a defeated team versus coordinated premades.
  8. Little offtopic but I would like to know if the Ascendancy Javelin will get the same treatment. And also the 3 emotes added to collections many years ago supposed to come from CM that never appeared there either.
  9. If this is really such an issue I guess Broadsword could go generous and kindly allow players with access to previous expansion reach level 76. I wouldn't allow them to reach level 80 though. For that, they should buy at least a month subscription like everyone else.
  10. That's not true, only very small group of players can do this. Everyone that was not a subscriber during 6.0 era can't. Plus everyone that did subscribe during 7.0 era can't either. So new players can't just join the game and stuck themselves at lvl 75. And old returing players from before 6.0 era can only stuck at lower levels.
  11. Every single BtL item from collections except mounts, pets, titles, flairs* and emotes* can be sent freely to alts. It's a convenience feature for lazy players. I wouldn't call it devious. Some players 'waste' their Cartel Coins like that solely for the convenience reason. On this very forum, some even admitted to 'waste' thousands of Cartel Coins to unlock items from Galactic Seasons. * if and when any of these kind will be introduced
  12. Forty Eight professional high pay rate voice actors being that someone.
  13. Bonus quests requiring to kill substantial amount of mobs (especially those with slow respawn) are terrible way of earning xp since the time used can be rather spent doing next heroic/quest and earn even more xp.
  14. I think 5 minutes respawn wouldn't be that much of a problem if there was not a bonus requiring to wipe all the mobs in the area and the associated selfish (or simply uneducated) players insisting to complete said bonus only to get the laughable credits/xp for it.
  15. Out of curiosity, what about 6.0 gearing was better? You mean perhaps the awful RNG nature (substantially prolonging the gear grind) of twenty different versions of mods and enhancements, which only one version was BiS from. Or perhaps you mean the hammer station grind. Or maybe the fact you couldn't gear alts so easily with super cheap mods from vendor. Or perhaps the fact that gold augments required several times longer and harder grind (14 RPMs + 7 OEMs instead of 5+5 and you could only get them in ranked PvP and NiM Ops respectively). Or maybe the afwul RNG nature of Amplifiers required to stay competitive and designed as a substantial time and/or credit sink. Or perhaps the set bonuses tied to armor parts instead of implants, thus the inevitable inability to use the same gear on different classes.
  16. What reputation track do you speak about? There was none in the first season.
  17. Maybe they could make the points over the cap go into some form of escrow and automatically grant them after weekly reset. This would achieve the goal of slowing progress, however it would still not prevent players to grind all objectives during first week(s) and then just log in weekly to claim the points to finish the season.
  18. These were not the part of the original DvL event. They were part of DvL system present in game for years and removed with 7.0 with a promise, they will return in the future.
  19. One of the worst part of the event was not the grind itself but the need to do it on new characters only. Some players actually had to buy new character slots or even delete old characters to be able to participate. That certainly left sour taste in mouth of many. And it would not be good for the game, to happen again.
  20. This game certainly doesn't need another event based on grinding old content. For those that missed the rewards, just put them in GS vendor for tokens. You know - those tokens that already come from grinding mostly old content. Players rightfully complain that there is not enough 'new' items being added there anyway.
  21. SS is definitely not dead, compare it to servers like Leviathan or TH and it's thriving, but if you compare it to SF it's much quieter. And i won't say they should be merged because of SS being dead. My argument is, what's the point to artificaly spread population between two servers with same physical location and same language, when one of the servers already has some population issues? But after move to cloud (confirmed) and possible cross server queue (which they never confirmed) it won't matter anymore. They even can keep opening new servers in different regions and even if they are dead, with cross server queue it's still somewhat fine. Except the ping. Cross servers across regions will still have terrible lag.
  22. This shouldn't be a problem anymore after move to the cloud.
  23. Maybe it will be just fine for few weeks or even months. The novelty of a new server may bring players even outside the APAC region to try. After all, it will be first new server added since shortly after game release, when they added some servers to the 208 originals to have a total of like 214 or 215, and first new APAC server ever. But what about the returning players that soon realize game didn't add that much content since they left? Are they going to stay? Are they going to stay with the continued mismanagement of the game? Or is the game under Broadsword going to be managed better? Those are all big unknowns. The worst thing that can happen is players will pay lots of money to transfer the characters to the new server, only to have to pay again to transfer back when the situation there is not going to develop well.
  24. I personally am not afraid of that. I think that constant complaints of how there is not enough players during APAC primetime online is a clear indication of how few are they. Nonetheless, SF and SS should be merged the day they moved the physical servers to the same location. They probably didn't do it for two reasons: income from server transfers and how bad it would look for US to have one server while EU has three.
  25. This only supports my claim that most of the APAC SWTOR players come either from Australia or NZ and not Asia. And that supports my comparison of 32 mil AU+NZ to 68 mil France. Because if a 68 mil ppl country can't generate enough SWTOR players to make one server even remotely busy, the population of AU+NZ certainly can't. Unless there are so many more % of their population interested in SWTOR than other regions, which I doubt. I didn't make this comparison to belittle anyone. I made it to compare numbers and to show that if a population of certain country can't support a standalone server, another with half the population probably can't either. And I said I am not opposed to APAC server, that just it won't be a magical solution as a dead server is what it is - a dead server. Can make other comparision, too... Like US with 330 mil only being able to support one busy and one not so busy server and EU with 750 mil (as a continent) or 450 mil (as European Union) only being able to support one busy, one half-dead, and one virtually dead server. You can then compare yours 30 mil to them and see yourself. You would need to have at least 10x more ppl per million in your country interested in SWTOR to generate enough players to keep one busy server. And regarding the argument made by someone else that maybe there are now suddenly enough players in APAC region to support standalone server financially, it doesn't have to be like that. It may be just that after move to cloud, the servers are not that costly anymore to maintain as the physical ones.
