  1. So.....what reason do we have to NOT think she's really one of the Emperor's Children?
  2. What some other people have likely done: Accidentally spawned the Nightmare Pilgrim thinking that it was a piece of lore. To paraphrase a line I heard on Dennis Miller Live: "The Force did not stop that thing from shoving my lightsaber up my....HELLO!!!"
  3. Two words: Trooper ending. I wished there was a "punch sternly in face" option.
  4. This. Because people equate the NGE with impending doomage.
  5. Maybe if the game were marketed as "freemium", rather than F2P, people might get the restrictions. They see F2P, they expect just that--completely free to play, no restrictions whatsoever. Then again, marketing in any major business prides themselves on the ability to turn a phrase.
  6. Yeah, devs came out and said the so-called "third faction" is a faction for story purposes only--it is NOT playable or in any other way affects current mechanics in that regard. It's much like the Revanites, so to speak.
  7. Bioware will do as they will, in accordance with what they--not necessarily we--believe is best for the community. It's their game and their rules.
  8. They don't get that it wasn't about the "99 credits". It's that, in the history of gaming economics, you've NEVER been able to sell back an item for more than you paid for it. It's also the not-so-small matter of "buy stack of 99, sell back, repeat ad infinitum" that was creating credits out of thin air.
  9. But it isn't "their" cup of tea. It wasn't mentioned in 40 point "war type" that new FPs/OPS/elder game (I refuse to use the term "endgame" for a game that has no defined "end") content is coming/planned/a twinkle in the devs' eye so, as far as they're concerned, there's no content coming at all.
  10. It's been stated and linked two four times in this very thread: Personal use is okay. Buying and selling en masse for a metric crapton of credits is not.
  11. We have a generation of people who think such behavior is okay because they were never raised to be accountable for their own actions--it was always the fault of "the system". For every action, good or ill, there is a consequence of that action. Exploit, get banned. No point or reason in trying to deflect blame onto the devs for "not immediately fixing the issue". YOU took the action. The consequence of that action is thus YOURS to bear.
  12. There's an old saying: When in doubt, don't. If you buy and sell the chairs knowing that it's NEVER been intended to sell back an item for more than you paid for it (and come on, this has been around for the history of RPGs, let alone MMOs), then you're committing exploitative behavior. The extent of such behavior, of course, will be evaluated by BW but the fact remains: You're exploiting. Even more so if you choose not to heed the warning when you log in at this point. Mistakes happen. Saying "nyaa nyaa, YOU made the mistake, so YOU deal with it" is simply attempting to rationalize behavior you know is wrong. "Oh, you pulled an oopsy and left the bank vault unlocked, so why shouldn't I be allowed to just walk in and take as much as I want? It's YOUR fault for leaving the vault open like that!!" No, just no. Doesn't work that way.
  13. Not really sound advice, as that can be construed as fraud.
  14. They're not resistant so much as having an inkling of an idea how much said "better performing, better looking" game would cost in terms of both time and money, and that devs (unless you're Blizzard and have ridiculous amounts of both resources to throw at it) aren't going to make that sort of investment willy-nilly. Many of those crying for a new engine do so with complete ignorance for the above, as if "oh, they're a large company, they can just snap their fingers and make it happen because hey it'll make us happy!!"
  15. Meh, I'm half asleep. Wouldn't be the first time I missed a joke, probably won't be the last.
  16. Read Dante's Inferno. There are nine circles of hell.
  17. I'm one of those, on the other hand, that will take a damn beating to open a chest first while the mobs around it beat on me to make sure that if I got to it, it's freaking mine. If I see someone clearing a chest, I'll leave it be, but if there's no one around, I'll make a beeline for the damn thing, mobs around it and all.
  18. It's video game journalism, aka blogging. I wouldn't expect something NBC News-quality from a site like MMORPG.com
