  1. I won't promote a nerf to pulls until AOE knockbacks on a shorter cooldown and force speed are nerfed first.
  2. Well played Marauders/Sentinels are OP. As are well played Scoundrels/Ops (both healing and middle tree). The thing is that 99% of the population of people who play these classes do not play them well enough to show it. Even decently played tank spec Shadow/Assassins in DPS gear are OP, but I won't go there.
  3. I only watched the first part of the first video, stopped watching as soon as I saw they were letting the healer freely cast heals... Mercs can do insane damage when they're not being interrupted, yes, but sorcs can do even more insane healing when they can spam their biggest heal to no end. You may have won, if so congrats, but there's a lot better groups of two people that would steam roll the heck out of a Sorc/Merc team...
  4. I'm full assault (4/6/31) and I haven't met a marauder who has given me trouble, or really anyone besides operatives for that matter. There are some sentinels in my guild who will have my number 7/10 times in a duel, and I hope that would be the case since the learning curve for vanguard is so much more shallow than sentinel. If you're struggling to beat any class as a vanguard I would take a good look at yourself before you start crying for the nerf bat, because even as a full DPS vanguard I don't die nearly as quickly against marauders as you are claiming to in Iron Fist. Rakata Medpack + Adrenaline Rush + Reactive Shield makes for a pretty OP combo in any spec. Reusable stims and adrenals from biochem are also really important, in my opinion. Also, crit/surge relics won't help you nearly as much anymore, and if you're still using one you should seriously consider switching to power.
  5. And SWTOR is not WOW, if you like WOW so much, the door is ---> that way. There are a lot more first time MMO players in SWTOR than there are in WOW nowadays, and until there's a target of target and raid assist panels, there needs to be someway of teaching new players how to focus important people in warzones, beyond the stupid focus target system there is right now.
  6. I'm not really sure what you're asking... I do have the gear I want and I got the majority of it through the new system without direct trade items... which is how you would get them, if you actually tried even a little bit. I just hit battlemaster so there are pieces of gear I would like, but that's neither here nor there.
  7. Anyone have a stick I can borrow? I smell a dead horse nearby. The community asked for a change, they got exactly what they asked for. You can no longer troll Bioware for it because they did what you asked. If you thought you would be able to instantly have good gear at level 50 without any work then you have never played another MMO, which in most cases are 10x harder to obtain PVP gear in. At least in champ bags you know exactly what you're going to get and exactly how much of it you'll get. Don't expect to get a direct trade token, because you won't. If you think champ bags are bad, just wait until you're a battlemaster. I fail to see how this thread has any spoilers at all in it...
  8. Well, if your server is pub dominated then you are most definitely in the minority. Rerolling to the winning side will only perpetuate the problem...
  9. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure everybody respawns with 100% of their health in huttball...
  10. I can't tell if you're being serious or not... Maybe if a merc crits on Heatseeker Missiles and every tracer missile they'd kill me as fast as an operative, but even then I'd be able to fight back and actually use some abilities before I die...
  11. Guess I'll be the first to say it... TRACER MISSILE! Yeah that stuff is the bomb. So much fun. (That's a joke btw). Srsly though I'd probably say Harpoon on my vanguard. Tracer missiles just knock me back, and then I pull them in again.
  12. So essentially what you're asking is for people to stop attacking you as a healer? The smart players will kill you whether you have a mark on your head or not. Until there are raid assist frames and target of target I completely disagree that marks should be removed. Even when we do get them it's still a stupid idea not to have them. Granted, they are a little more GIGANTIC than they need to be if you have the option to scale on the horizon checked (or unchecked?) and that could be toned down a bit...
  13. Lolwut? There's an operative on my server that can kill me (vanguard) before her 2 stuns wear off...
  14. If you don't like it, why do it in the first place?
  15. It's the new flavor of the month.
  16. I didn't read the whole thing either, but there are two different scenarios where you will not gain valor from killing someone in Ilum. The first of which happens when the person you killed returns too quickly and dies again. This scenario is independent of you and it just means you need to wait a little longer before you kill this person again. The second scenario happens when YOU have killed too many people on Ilum without dying. This was Bioware's genius idea to convince you to die regularly so the fights do not become stale and one sided. The people expressing frustration in this thread are experiencing this second scenario after just a couple of kills after a death, and are arguing that it is a bug. I cannot say with 100% certainty because it has not happened to me before I've killed quite a few imps, but other people in my guild say it's happened to them more than once. They will /stuck to kill themselves, get revived, kill a couple imps, and then get the No Valor Gained notice and not receive daily credit or valor. The two different notices in tandem kind of seem like a double edged sword to me. It rewards people for dying regularly (no valor gained), and it punishes the other team for killing you regularly (X has been killed too recently and is not worth any valor). LOTRO just made it so that each subsequent kill of a person in a short enough window of time made your renown (valor) diminish for each time you killed the same person in a short enough window of time. I think that's a better idea than what Bioware's doing here and while I think it's a good idea to have no penalties or stats for deaths in Ilum and to have a system that promotes dying, I think making people die to start gaining valor again just penalizes a group for performing really well and is not the solution.
  17. I'm fairly certain the OP was being sarcastic...

    Fixing Resolve

You failed to explain how the latter part of what I said wasn't true. I am well aware of roots that are unaffected by resolve. That is not the case. I am saying there have been times when my resolve will start ticking down before the stun that filled it is done. Unless I am missing something I do not see how that isn't broken. I know how to tell the difference between roots and stuns and it is definitely not roots to which I am referring. The latter part of what you said has absolutely nothing to do with what I said, at all. I never said I didn't understand when to use a CC breaker and when not to, nor did I say I do not understand the point of crowd control or the purpose of resolve... I see your point about a full bar of resolve breaking the stun that fills it, but there have been plenty of times where my resolve is full but not yet white, meaning I'm still vulnerable to one additional crowd control. I do still think that when the bar is full it should be full. I also still think that 5 seconds of resolve from the CC breaker is not too much to ask.
  19. I really have no reason to taunt now as a vanguard. I will still do it because it helps my team win, but it certainly doesn't encourage it for those who don't care if they win or not. I suppoort the first 4 medals giving 500 valor, but I do think the preceding medals should give some amount of valor. 25 sounds reasonable to me, the gap between someone with 12 medals and someone with 5 medals is significantly lessened, and there's still a reason to continue for more medals.
  20. This game has been out 2 months and there are already people with full battlemaster gear. It isn't even that uncommon. This is by far the FASTEST PVP gear grind in any game I've ever played. I welcome this change.
  21. From the first page I realize, but your post is VERY wrong as well. My guess is you tried a vanguard first and decided that using more than 2 buttons in a DPS rotation was too difficult for you? Grav Rounds in PVP are a joke compared to vanguards. Vanguard v. Commando, the vanguard should win no less than 9/10 times. Assault Specialist commandos will put up a bigger fight, but they are still limited by their inductions/channels, whereas a vanguard has no inductions or channels apart from full auto. I will admit that an uninterrupted Grav Round can do more DPS than a vanguard with comparable gear in end game PVE more easily, but it's far from game changing. Grav Rounds are more sought after in ops usually because of their 30 meter range, but all current PVE content is more than possible with a vanguard in DPS spec with decent enough gear.
  22. Tank speced shadows/assassins can spec for interrupt immunity for Telekinetic Throw/Force Lightning following a Project/Shock. They're still vulnerable to stuns and knockbacks, so you can still interrupt them that way. Commando/Mercenary in the healing tree can make their 25% mitigation shield (forget the name of it) also make you immune to interrupt. Again, they are not immune to knockbacks and stuns so you can still do that to interrupt them. The skill is on a 3? minute cooldown and the effect isn't terribly long, but you're usually better of finding a new target in PVP when someone uses this against you, until it wears off.
  23. Why do you assume I'm using a lightsaber at all? Oh, I see what you did there.
  24. According to http://www.swtor.com/blog/dev-tracker-summary-february-13th-2012-%E2%80%93-february-20th-2012 the problem will be solved in 1.2.
