  1. I rolled a new alt on Jedi Coveneant and here is what I am doing: Sell all excess stuff that my character/companion does not need to vendors. Once at 10, hit Fleet and get some cheap (read: this might mean ugly ) adpative gear and use the 12x Basic Commendations to get mods for the gear. Do NOT equip the companion with adaptive gear until much later, if at all. Do NOT start crafting until the mid-30s, hell I have a 53 Bounty Hunter that is just starting her crafting trees. You just do not have enough incoming credits to justify crafting at level ten or so. If you use your comms to replace your mods, you'll be sitting on around 50,000-150,000 in credits in no time. From there you can buy a cheap vehicle off GTN to get around faster, run some Flashpoints for more credits, etc. Good luck!
  2. I tried knife only on my OP (level 14ish) and it worked pretty well, lots of damage and mobility. However, I was never in a situation where I got stunned/immobed and hit from afar. The knife fights are pretty kinetic though.
  3. Hoping for at least until Fall so I can finish up my pub side. 12XP is so, so amazing. All my alts are improving dramatically at breakneck speed.
  4. There is a lot of unfinished and unpolished/unfixed stuff. Galactic Starfigher is a great example. Super cool minigame but only a handful of maps and the ship balance issues (ask fervent GSF people about these) have never been addressed. Overall the game is pretty fun, but if I had one small request...please, more planets in the 20-40 range so I can mix it up from doing Taris-Alderaan-Hoth all the time. That's really where my interest starts flagging for the most part.
  5. Have a good one OP. Enjoy whatever game or MMO you try next.
  6. Pretty much this, though I will chat it up when we start a Flashpoint. If the group is in a groove we'll keep chatting otherwise we just steamroll through. I do use this MMO as a console game for the most part though, and help people out when they need it.
  7. This is true, to a degree. It holds because PvPers will grind hard and get the best gear and strategize and so on...for as long as their interest is held. The issue is they will move to other games pretty quickly if new maps/modes/gear aren't added or if issues are not addressed. This turns into a no-win for Devs. If they fix the issues then the hardcores will gravitate immediately to the more broken stuff while the PvErs lag behind and slowly level their alt. Ideally, an MMO would have its own PvP team that would communicate with its community and go from there on the issues. That's not really the case here though, so the best PvPers can hope for is that some of the more egregious issues get fixed and that people join them on whatever the desginated PvP server is these days.
  8. It's been a while since I did this, but I think it's on the eastern side of Hoth. Just open up your map ("M") and you should a green lead indicator on the section. Just walk/drive there and bump around a bit until you see the green entrance option.
  9. I went as a male Dark Side Trooper and picture him as one of those mercenary, private army types. The lines are deliciously smug and arrogant at times, been a good time so far though Garza seems like she wants to strip me of my rank. Dark Side Consular (male voice) has been pretty hit and miss. At the start you get actual reaction from Yuon Par for things you've done, and as I am finishing up a high level Consular, I can't wait what happens in a certain situation with someone's beloved if you go Dark Side. Most of the time I do just go on how the character would feel though, otherwise it is simply too robotic. Conversely, I quite enjoyed Light Side Bounty Hunter. Light Side Agent so far seems...okay. Not really fulfliing but okay. Bit my LS Agent is only level 15 so...
  10. You aren't doing anything wrong here. Now if you were following the player around all the time and killing the mobs around them to grief them and so on, that might be different. Not sure if that's even actionable though as people can generally move to other entities and attack them.
  11. Thank you Eric. There's not much more annoying (Looking at you, Republic Balmorra....) than logging into Fleet and being RMT-spammed. If this helps a bit then it has already done a ton.
  12. Female: Watcher Two from the Agent arc. Efficient, direct, proper and has quite the barbs when you flirt with her. Keep rolling Agents again and again for her. Male: Moff Kilran: Love the arrogance, the dripping contempt, the absolute overconfidence he displays. Not bad in a fight either... Other/Alien: The "Thing" (Czerka found): You only speak to it for a brief scene but the overarching impression of power, the desire to corrupt you and so on, just fantastic. Honorable Mention(s): SCORPIO: From the Agent arc again, ruthlessely efficent and a true killing machine. Darth Marr: From the False Emperor Flashpoint correct> He is indeed impressive, majestic and his open-mindedness is a credit to him, but sadly I do not remember seeing him at all outside the flashpoint. At least not on my Warrior or I have a really bad memory. Tharan Cedrax: From the Consular arc. I'm going to be honest that I really, really, really hated him at first. Found him enormously smarmy and thought his holo-pet Holiday was a loser's gambit. But the more I engaged in personality and in combat the more he grew on me. Just a guy that wants to live long enough for the next party.
  13. I list at 10-20% lower than average price. If I really want a fast sale I might list an item in the tens of thousands instead of hundreds of thousands or millions. More money coming to me means more items going into the server so...
  14. This pack is pretty good value. Now I did get only one pack, but I made 2,000,000 + off the market from the contents. I'd much prefer more packs like these with less junk in them and more guaranteed bomb drops, so to speak. Any idea how long it will be around? Debating buying more coins...
  15. I disagree. I have built a few alts in expectation of 12x and here is why: Currently, I get burnout when I reach level 20-30 (Nar Shaddaa/Tatoiine) despite some stories I really enjoy on Tatooine (Thing Czerka Found...Imperial side because the Republic side one has too many side errands) but with 12x, I am going to be able to actually see the top arcs on more than my Agent and Marauder. And, most important of all...and, I will no longer feel like I have to do Kuat Drive Yards ad nauseam to get to my next class level. 12x means more alts, which means more time in game spending less time levelling. I may be a total babe in the woods but I have not found any power-levelling options (a flaw imo, as PL'ing would let me hit Warzones so, so much more often...) so this is as close at it gets. Now if I see people that want to level slower, I'll park an alt and so on. My only real problem with this game is that Cartel items are so expensive (1400+ for an outfit...) that I am very spendthrift. If everything was 100-500CC I'd be spending like nuts. As it is now, my coins accumulate until I spend every three months or so. Anyway, TLDR: 12x good, lets me see more of the game, CC prices are exorbitant and the game probably is not ending for a few years at least.
  16. The pack isn't bad. If you figure 1 CC = 1,000 credits then you need to pull 1,000,000 from the pac off GTN to break even. I got one today and I got a yellow sabre crystal, a Blaster Rifle, some dyes and so on. will be able to turn that back into a bunch of credits tomorrow so... I'm not generally a fan of the gambling packs but if there is a narrow content window to be had, it's worth a go.
  17. Could you elaborate on thiS? I have tried to find the "Rename" icon on the character select screen and have been stumped.
  18. Balmorra: Simply too wide and though it is interesting enough with the droid factory and so on, there's just a feeling of geographic sameness that gets to me after a while. This is amplified on Republic side where it's annoying difficult to find some of the lifts and travel areas. Not a fan of this one. Love everything about Belsavis, from the Esh-Ka to the prison theme and so on. Enjoying Makeb quite a bit too. They're both different enough to make it worth several visits.
  19. I came back about three months ago and I am still around. Some nice stuff: The new discipline trees you might not gimp yourelf by putting some points in this tree, points in the other tree and so on. They do lead to a certain sameness but my alts feel better (except for my Engineering Sniper, RIP ) and so on. There are some new planets at high levels, can't comment much on them as I cap at 55 presently. No more costs for levelling means you keep a LOT more money on yourself that you can use for repairs or frivolities and so on. They added Galactic Starfighter which is a nice change of pace but it is unforgiving early when you start. Some negative stuff: The game is still pretty grndy, but the 12xp boost to sub class stories should help that. Warzones are still kinda mess, but fun in spurts. Lots of credit spammers on Fleet...so have that Ignore button handy. Still not a lot of appearance options, which is a turnoff for some. Welcome back!
  20. Honestly the thing that stops me from doing HK on more than one alt is the ship quest. Annoying jump puzzles in pseudo-darkness...no thanks. Everything else was pretty manageable solo, but I needed a friend to pull me around in the Theoretika.
  21. Love that this is returning. Missed it the last time around and have a ton of alts (mostly Pubside) that are in that level 20-30 range where I am just bored to tears of doing Nar Shaddaa/Taris before moving on to planets I enjoy like Alderaan and Belsavis. I welcome this wholheartedly and hope there will be an opt out item so that I can avoid using this on the starter planets, instead using it when I feel like an extra push instead of doing Kuat Drive Yards over and over and over...
  22. It is super frustrating to start out with. Even moreso since my favourite ship was the Scout, which is basically paper in space. I will say though, that if you upgrade your shields and weapons and learn to use your environment then you will survive more. I used to die a ton and now I die much less just by zig-zagging around obstacles and so on. Now, getting kills still isn't happening for me, but I write this off to not mastering the "closing and leaving" attack patterns. But yes, GSF is super hard to learn, as opposed to unranked Warzones where you can get some kills and laughs and contribute somewhat even when not totally tricked out. I recommend you just do the dailies/weeklies and upgrade shields, maneuverability and read Stasie's guides. They may not be up to date but they halped a ton with my builds.
  23. How about board games such as Luftwaffe and other classics like that? I'll take a look at Universalis soon. Why does the italicized remind me of Ask a Ninja's "I look forward to killing you soon" ? Welcome, grow a thick skin and enjoy the game.
  24. No, I would not. I do not play WoW or other MMO's, I am only here because of lightsabers, the Force and so on.
  25. It is a tough event on level 20s, for sure. I'd recommend going with a few teammates or even having a higher level tag along outside to buff you or help you with combat. The event as a whole is pretty fun but the Rakghouls swarm on you something fierce. Hope it works out better on your next attempt.
