  1. Yeah, somehow I have hard time believing this state is what the developers aimed for. Anyone wants to bet there will be another iteration of the bugfix next Tuesday?
  2. Indeed. My point was to counterargument your "these are Planetary achievements". They surely are on PVP server, but when you organize a kill-trading session, the planet on which you do it basically plays no role; in other words, the session is exactly the same whether on Hoth or on Tatooine. Achievements are Legacy wide. If my character on PVP server kills 100 other characters, my progress on PVE server will still be 0/100. That said, I think Achievements merge if you transfer a character between servers - however, in such case you actually "pay RL money" for the Achievements, since server transfer isn't (generally) free. Again, the request is not to remove them, but to move them to another/separate category. Purely cosmetic change, which gives no actual advantage. You could argument if such purely cosmetic change is then worth the effort. In such case, I would point you to this thread (and multiple patch notes). Apparently, Bioware believes it is worth the effort to cater to their "completionists" subset of players, as Codex and its completion is pretty much nothing but cosmetic feature as well.
  3. OP, this has been requested many times in the past. Yes, they are doable on PVE servers; however, they are significantly easier to do on PVP servers, to the point of ridiculousness. For example, "Kill 500 enemy players on Quesh" would take a few days, weeks at most on PVP server; on PVE server, it's quite possible to check Quesh every day and not find enough flagged players for a year's long. The only realistic way how to do this Achievemnt on PVE server is to organize a kill-trading session with players from opposite faction. Fair enough, but in my opinion that can be hardly called a "Planetary Achievement". Similar arguments were made in previous iteration of this thread, and I never understood them. The Achievements won't be removed; PVP players will still have it vastly easier to get them, and the points associated with them (if Leaderboards are your thing). There is no additional reward for 100% planet completition. So, are some people really so outraged that some other people could be happy by seeing that 100% green completion in their Achievement tracker? Also: this raises a question if "there is a set of Achievements which are x-time easier to do for a speific group of players (players on a PVP server)" is "wise" development approach. Because under the same logic, we can for example say it's OK that there is one particular class which dominates the Warzones ...
  4. I too have this issue with (only) one of my characters, and it's also a Vanguard; the chest piece, originally White/Orange and dyed (and correctly displayed ingame) Green/White shows as White/Green on the selection screen ...
  5. Would you mind posting a screenshot like this? Everyone else seems to say it's bugged/not it the pack, so it would be nice to have some definite confirmation.
  6. To answer your question, yes. Both Storymode and Hardmode do count.
  7. Same problem here. The loading screen took ~10 minutes to go through, now I'm at server selection screen "Logging into selected server" which is taking another ~10 minutes at the moment and most likely will eventually fail. EDIT: I relinked this thread in Customer Support forum: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=810825 EDIT2: Now I managed to get on character selection screen, but when clicking Play, nothing happens.
  8. I apologize for this reply being completely off-topic: 1) Some high-level necromancy in this thread 2) Awesome first line ("Hell everyone", and yes I know it's a typo) 3) Since I didn't know this thread originates from 2012 when there was a Sword of Ajunta Pall server, I thought this is about a new rare drop - Sword of Ajunta Pall - which was added somewhere in Ziost and is now camped by bots, so I came here to learn more about it.
  9. Short answer: Definitely. Long(er) answer: I wouldn't even say Operative has "less sustained DPS". If people feel there's an issue/room for improvement regarding Operative DPS, it's mostly related to (ranked) PVP and endgame (Operations) PVE; for solo PVE content, Operative is nothing short of awesome and an almost ideal choice. The only actual drawback is the lack of AoE, especially in Concealment; however, you don't really need it.
  10. Not necessarily; while the conquest event would "require" the Bounty event, the dependency would be one-sided. That means, the conquest event could come only every other Bounty event (and occassionaly even every third Bounty event) thus keeping the frequency of individual conquest events relatively balanced. Personally, I support the addition of Bounties to the conquest event objectives.
  11. I usually ignore/don't notice it, unless they are really cluttered (aka several groups of the same NPCs, like the Twi'leks on Hutta orbital station).
  12. Bumping this thread as it is the most relevant one I found regarding my question: Final boss HM Battle of Rishi: is there any pattern/mechanics to which and how many adds spawn? Tried the boss at least 10 times today (doing the HM version for the first time); most often the first and/or wave was 2 groups consisting of 4 standard ranged (Assassin droid) + 1 strong meele (Revanite something) each; which put a lot of pressure on the group. Less often the waves were 2x 1 elite ranged (Revanite unloadspammer) or even 2x 3 standard ranged (Assassin droid), which were much more manageable. Is that a pure RNG element, or is there a way how to prevent the 2x 4+1 waves of doom? EDIT: Thinking about it now, can it be a bug? From what I remember from the tactical version, the add waves were either 2x 1 elite, 2x 3 standard, or 2x 1 standard + 1 strong. The 2x 4 standard + 1 strong seem like the latter two versions spawning at the same time ...
  13. Would say it in a more polite and diplomatic way, but this. I still like the game, I just lost faith in the development team and ergo in the future of SWTOR. 3.1.1 was a step in the right direction, but one single lone step cannot rectify the mess of last few months. So right now, I'm in the " wait and will see" mode. What mess/why I lost the faith? Among others: - The "Achievement reset upon logout" bug coming up over and again. It can happen once, but I can't imagine the state of the team if the bug pops in 3-4 separate occassions in a row. - Ravagers exploit going for a whole month before being adressed - The Slot machine (both the original and the adjusted iteration, especially how they were handled) - Lack of foresight regarding "meele friendliness" in the new content
  14. Well, I personally find the recent lack of quality and professionalism ... disturbing. I cannot help but think that the developers either do not care, or are so heavily understaffed that they cannot do better even if they wanted no. Neither of which makes me particularly happy
  15. It is a bug, I reported it here. The workaround only helps if you don't get knocked off the platform (which is sadly the most common cause), otherwise it's game over for you and you have to abandon the Flashpoint.
  16. Those are all good points. I was trying to come with some counterarguments, but then realized they would be all based on my personal preference and feelings instead on an objective standpoint. Fair enough!
  17. Well, now you've heard about one (damn Reputation completionist OCD). With the Dawn of the Slot Machine , there's no more reason to open the packs as opposed to just buying the individual pieces on GTN. You could say that it won't affect the CM much, because people can still buy and sell unopened packs, but if everyone would realize that it's (objectively) better to buy individual pieces compared to hoping for lucky RNG when opening packs, then unopened packs wouldn't sell, and hence no one would buy them from CM. So I'm actually glad that there are people for whom the pleasure from opening a pack is a reward by itself!
  18. I must admit this bothers me more than the materials. You can oppose with the usual "Special Snowflake syndrome" and "Things change" argument, and you may be even right with them. However I fail to see how, from Bioware's business standpoint, making Cartel Certificates and Reputation Tokens (and the corresponding rewards) purchaseable for ingame credits is wise decision. These two things were always a "reward for opening packs". Can Bioware be sure that with removal of this incentive, the interest in packs won't drop?
  19. Nothing else but 6 purple jawa tokens? Because all the other stuff isn't exactly worthless either. Yes. Anyone can play the machine as long as they have the chips.
  20. The FPS loss seems to be worse for me as well; I suspected any performance improvement they did was rolled back with the mail hotfix. Yesterday I was in ops group of 14 people who killed the Nar Shaddaa world boss. The whole fight took about 10 seconds, and my FPS was ... 0. My character didn't move the whole time at all. The attacks were going off, I heard the corresponding sounds, but the animation was completely frozen.
  21. I must admit I'm torn about this decoration. The idea is definitely great; what makes me hesitant are the rewards. - It is far from Credit sink; the rewards, at least in my initial experience, balance and most likely outweigh the cost - It further devaluates the Conquest, making its rewards even more obsolete - It noticeably lowers the value of CM certificates - Bioware is sort of shooting itself in the leg here - When the Cartel Reputation came out, Bioware explicitly stated that it is meant as a "reward for people who purchase packs" (I'm sure the yellow post can still be found somewhere). This change negated that statement. While a solid argument could be made that it's an "archaic" reputation, it again means that people may be less likely to purchase the corresponding packs.
  22. From 3.0.2 Patch notes: The result is that if you die in the fight by being knocked off the platform, you respawn behind a locked door which never opens (no, not even after the fight is over), and basically have no other choice but to abandon the FP. A bit hardcore if you ask me ...
  23. Agree with this. However instead of reverting the commendations change, they could A) Make Elite commendations more worthwhile. Examples: - Matter Transubstantiator purchasable with Elite commendations - Unlettered 186 Purple Mods purchaseable with Elite commendations B) Add new loot to the Operations
  24. Fair enough. Off the record, your signature has Tank, Healer, and 3 Ranged DPS which suggests these are your mains, but of course that doesn't mean you have no experience with Meele DPS. Operative DPS here (Concealment, but that's not even important): Pardon me? I agree 100% IF you replace "is balanced" with "should be balanced". Right now, I'm not sure the former is the case. I agree with the bolded part. However in my opinion these Operations are an exception - in the sense that ranged have vastly (not just slightly) easier task to avoid stuff.
