  1. Am I sexist if I think people that start threads like this are just looking for attention? Also, while I don't think you should feel the need to hide your gender traits in-game, I always look down upon "females" that feel the need to announce in general chat they are female. Once you get to know people, sure let them know because that's a part of who you are. Intelligent, intuitive people will probably figure it out on their own anyways and the idiots don't need to know. Does it get annoying sometimes when people are saying stuff like "women don't play mmo's" or "girls don't like Star Wars"? Sure. You can still argue with them without saying OMG IMMA GIRL. There are plenty of women that play this game- there's nothing special about you just because you happen to have been born female and you know how to use a computer. And, there, I managed to say all that without actually saying whether or not I'm female. How easy was that?
  2. I certainly haven't tested it but I'm sure people have. My understanding is that it reduces the damage dealt by the person using the adrenal.
  3. Total waste of time and effort? A ridiculous number of people have leveled (and are STILL leveling) with the help of those "lower level waste of time and effort products" that I made. If that's a waste to you then so be it.
  4. Right. So you're saying anyone that doesn't have a problem with RE as it stands is a cheater.
  5. Oh yes, of course. There's a drop down menu in the upper right-hand corner, it lets you send missions for anything up to your current level. If you have specific resources you want you can check torhead.com that lists all the missions for each item. Or you can look at the description under the mission and figure it out from that info. For a lot of materials this is MUCH easier than gathering yourself.
  6. No? http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=199994 http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=101386 http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=96852 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=109951 http://www.swtor.com/de/community/showthread.php?t=117268 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=94746 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=227871 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=83393 http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=211470 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=117431 http://www.swtor.com/fr/community/showthread.php?t=173867 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=226055 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=98208 I'm sure there are plenty more but I think I put enough effort into that. I'm sure not every single one of these starts out as patch-related but they're ALL about how someone is having a bad luck streak and they think RE is broken because of it.
  7. Crafting has NEVER been the easy way to play video games. Depending on the game you can usually make 5x-20x more money in half the time. In this game that is undoubtedly true, even though there are plenty of credits to be had for crafters. People that like to craft do it for a variety of reasons but less effort and involvement are probably not on anyone's list. And this is a video game. The "rewards" are all just imaginary. The pursuit is the point, is it not?
  8. I'm sorry, you do know that the R in RNG stands for RANDOM right? Questioning it being BROKEN after the patch from that example is preposterous.
  9. I gave you a different answer. All biochem stuff ISN'T useless crap. If you want to see it from a very narrow point of view that's how you're going to see it.
  10. Yet another post about how so-and-so patch broke RE. It's not broken. What it is, is random. But then, you already knew that. PS I learned 3 new schematics this evening out of about 30 items.
  11. /shrug The proc rate seems fine to me as is. I don't even RE that much and I have a zillion blue/purple schematics. Those that get the most frustrated are usually those that only care about 1 or 2 top-tier items and, imho, that's not really crafting.
  12. So I assume anything worth your effort needs to benefit your one end-game toon? If so, then probably not. If, however, you want it to benefit other people or your other toons there's a lot you could be bothered with. But since I don't think that's the answer you're looking for I won't elaborate.
  13. Don't worry, we were all noobs once! You can RE any medpack you can make if you'd like, or you can start with a level that you're interested in. The higher the level of the item the more difficult it seems to be to reengineer. Some people say that if you're a low-level toon it will be harder to RE higher-level items, but I don't know that that's true. What you will do is RE the original medpack (green schem) until you get the message that you've learned the prototype medpack schematic. Then you would make items from that prototype schematic and RE those until you get a message that you've learned the reuseable recipe. Hopefully that makes sense. And yes the Rakata are reuseable.
  14. Personally I would probably rather you not be able to do it. Why? Because you worked from green to blue to purple. If someone can take your blue, RE it and get a purple schem they've now skipped that step. Imagine some of the folks that had to RE 100+ items to get the "correct" blue, is it really fair to them? I guess you could argue that you shouldn't sell your blues but someone will.
  15. It's a great question that I haven't seen the answer to. I've RE'd maybe a couple dozen items made by other people, never saw a schem but that's obviously not enough to tell us anything.
  16. Biochem consumables RE'ing: Adrenals start blue and can be RE'd to purple (purples are reuseable). Heals/medpacks start green can be RE'd to blue (heal + bonus to health) then to purple (reuseable). Stimulants/buffs start green can be RE'd to blue (same buff, double time +don't disappear on death) then to purple (reuseable).
  17. According to the RE sticky, no you can not. Doesn't hurt to try though and you get resources back...
  18. I will invariably say something if there is a lot of gay-bashing, which happens all too often. Why bother? Because if nobody says anything you are condoning it. Sure, they'll start attacking you instead but I would rather that than have all these people (including kids) think that sort of behavior is okay. I haven't really looked to see if there's an easy way to report people and I think I would rarely do it if so but some people undoubtedly deserve it.
  19. At the top of this forum you'll see three threads that say STICKY at the beginning, these all have crew-skill information in them. If you have a particular question that you want answered you can search using google & "site:swtor.com". Then if you still don't find an answer you can always post a question, most people are helpful.
  20. The vendor has really only one useful thing - fleet passes for 1k that have a 30 minute timer I think. It also has the icky bikini outfit that everyone puts on their companions. One important thing to remember is needing to have the security key all the time is a pain. You even need it for logging into the forums.
  21. From all the information I've read noone has managed to RE a purple into an orange and it is not expected that they will. I think some of the information above was a little confusing. This is how I see it, and it's true at least for biochem: Green trainer schem -> blue -> purple Blue trainer schem -> purple Blue loot schem -> purple 1 -> purple 2
  22. It is one of the lesser drops on Balmorra but it seemed to me to be the best planet for. Honestly though, I gave up on harvesting it. I just run the missions over and over with my crew. Urban Degeneration + The Hutt's Kitchen should be available most of the time, run those constantly and you'll get nice big stacks at a much lower price than you can buy off the GTN. The Unknown Microorganism that comes with it you can sell if you really don't need it.

    Red Goo

Corellia is also a good place for red goo.
  24. Yep, it's annoying. You also can't tell if it sold on the black market, it still says the same thing as the galactic trade market. Definitely go with the unique number at the end if you really care and for heck's sake don't withdraw them, that's just silly.
