  1. I actually REALLY like the look of it. Although, I would like the option to purchase other ships at some point.
  2. Yep It forces me to constantly monitor my crewskill area and make sure that something isn't going to "popup" mid-"whatever I'm currently doing".
  3. Considering the state of PvP and endgame raiding...jokes on them.
  4. Surprisingly enough.....I do run it for the time being for my GF. It runs...."ok", usually 20-30fps on low (shadows off) @ 1440x900. If you drop the resolution down a tad (1280 I think it was), the fps gets a little more stable. Warzones take a big hit, you'll see 10-15 (but its pretty stable) And the fleet can be a nightmare at times depending on the number of people (sometimes you get sub 5fps, so basically unplayable). For leveling and whatnot, she doesn't seem to mind. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than leveling/crewing/space missions/etc.
  5. I'd give it a solid 7-7.5/10 IMO it's a pretty good "MMO", but not necessarily a great game. It's definitely better than any other MMOs out ATM for me. The main issue that detracts from an 8-8.5/10 is the bugs that were never addressed during beta.
  6. Maybe try a different companion? I had this issue as Inquisi with Khem Val (I love him for the lore aspect, but for gameplay.....lol no), he would ALWAYS have 10-20% HP remaining after even a SMALL pull (not even pulls with Elites, just regular 'ol strongs). Switched to the Jedi chick you get....and never had issues again. Same goes for my BH (tank): using ANYONE other than Mako results in a TERRIBLE experience. You can CLEARLY see which companions were MEANT to be used for both gameplay AND story purposes. I'd honestly rather see them just /**** the other companions and make them just usable for grinding crew skills.
  7. Yes. If you push "L" and check the section labeled "Class", it will list the level "recommended" and a color for whether its hard (red) or easy (green/grey). I've skipped ahead and done some, but its pretty hard to do most of them unless you are within a few levels (usually 2-3). Yep. There is a part on Hoth for the Inquisitor that makes you "solo" defend them while they do something. I don't think you can bring another player along on that one
  8. Yea I honestly see a negligible difference when switching from low to high (medium does nothing at all). The only difference I see between my rig running everything on high vs my 4 year old laptop with everything on low...is more stable fps (~80 vs 30)
  9. "Now not no publisher will try a Star Wars MMO" Yep. I'll NEVER be able to un-see that one.
  10. Fire someone from Bioware, and give this man/woman/it a job.
  11. Funny story OP: I've actually seen MORE tanks/heals LFG than I have in ANY other MMO. The issue is the limited scope of the chat system (basically the only LFG system in place atm). They need cross-planet support at the VERY least. This would allow people to congregate at the fleet and start a party, and then "move" their chat search to other planets if needed.
  12. Played lots in beta, so I'm taking my time atm (probably going to let the subscription relapse as I need some time off anyways for the next month or two) and making alts. 47 BH 39 Inquisi 25 IA 22 Trooper 24 JK
  13. OP: how do you not understand what you yourself just wrote? Of COURSE WoW is going to run PERFECTLY on an old system.....the game is 7 (SEVEN) *********** years old. If you have a computer that is 7 years old, it will run it. If you have a computer that is 3 seconds old, it will run it. Now for SWTOR, if you try and run it on something within the past 4 years (yes I've tried it on my 4 year old MacBookPro w/ 128MB, yes 128MB of gfx ram, and it works FINE on low; 30-40fps), it will be ok, barring any ****ups or bugs. Did they screw the pooch with regards to maximizing the potential userbase? Sure. It would be GREAT if the engine was more optimized and capable of being run on systems from when WoW launched...but it's not going to happen. You should be lucky if you can even get it to run on anything over 3 years old.
  14. I honestly don't understand why they can't have a "slider" for effects/other players, that would allow the user to have their OWN character be hi-res, and everyone else be set at a pre-determined level (name only, ultra-low, low, high-with a warning about system requirements)
  15. +1 OP I honestly think most people complaining are "kids" (the Facebook generation), and they feel like they need to be "vocal" and "vote with their voice". In doing so, they sit around and spam forums about how "bad" game X is, when they could instead be playing something else. I don't know about you, but when I'm bored/hating something...I go do something else. I got sick and tired of terrible players in BF3...I uninstalled (and will likely never return). I got sick and tired of SC2 and it's focus on the competitive scene and less on the awesome maps/community...once again I uninstalled. I didn't sit around for hours on the forums complaining about those games/gamers. I simply moved on. I suggest you folks who have issues with THIS game do the same.
  16. OP: you could have saved yourself time and money by just spending 30 minutes reading/watching stuff about the game. Don't blame the game for your own laziness.
  17. The focus of that game was NEVER intended to be on the story, so no one gives a **** about those things. Don't mark a game down for things it NEVER intended to do. I don't yell at my Audi for not being a Ferrari 250 GTO, just like I don't yell at SWTOR for not being a "more MMO" MMO. They are what they are. 'nuff said
  18. I hear you OP. I actually recently gave up on playing FPS games (other than EXTREMELY casual ones like TF2) due to the amount of ABSOLUTELY AWFUL players who don't use their brains (they just want the rewards ASAP). I'm not at that point yet with MMOs, but it's probably not too far off.
  19. I'm slightly against it, but then again, I know firsthand how hard it can be on certain servers/factions to find groups for heroics or FPs. I'd honestly rather see a planetwide LFG option (instead of a cross-server one). Having to shuttle to the fleet JUST to start looking for a group (not to mention having to go there to actually enter the FP....should be joinable from ANYWHERE) is VERY annoying, especially when you don't reach ALL the people of that respective level (most are off questing/doing other things, only a rare few are actually trying to find FPs)
  20. Thank you! This definitely made up for a LOT of annoyances I've had with the game over the past few days.
  21. I've noticed a lot of idiots in this game, way more than in other PvP games. Healers are VERY helpful in this game, maybe they just haven't realized it yet/they are thinking its like other MMOs were healers aren't as important.
  22. lol @ "5% having issues" SUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE thing. I can pull numbers out of thin air too: 83% of game developers are morons. SNAP
  23. OP: you are doing something wrong if you have only 200 credits at all times. #1 Don't put up useless greens on the AH, just vendor them #2 Read up on the crew skills and learn to use them (I would suggest slicing because its VERY newbie friendly, and it should net you a decent profit, allowing you to worry about leveling and come back to picking up a different skill later) I do agree to some point that the costs get pretty extreme. It's not that I don't have the credits, I do, but the cost gets pretty high (along with speeder training, repairs, etc).
  24. nope.everyfileextensionknowntomankind cashboxes, augments (usually don't sell for much, but oh well), and crew skills (sell for a LOT usually)
  25. Honestly if there were options like Trandoshian (or however its spelled), or Wookie, etc I'd pick one of those instantly.
