  1. I prefer crafting my own gear. I probably spend as much time doing this as other people do running instances. I don't like doing instances, farming for gear or canned PVP but I will spend hours and hours farming materials and crafting stuff to make my gear. I feel like I'm being crapped on here. So my question is this when will crafting get as much love as dropped gear. I really do not see any reason why end game dropped gear or pvp gear should be better than the gear I make. I am sure there is a way to make them meet and coexist on the same lvl. Crafting needs more love
  2. The game has not delivered anything new. Its just the same old crap with a new paint job. This games only crowning achievement is the voice acting which does not really interest me. How much of the 100,000,000 was spent on this...imo to much. I will play it anyway because I like the crafting system. Once i have maxed out the crafting meaning I have researched every recipe I want I'll have no purpose int he game and quite playing. SO how long do you think this will take...3-4 months. I'm fairly dogmatic about collecting materials. None of my other game activities are well developed in this game Exploring: not gona happen there's nothing to explore the maps are unimaginative and limited. PvP: not gona happen until lvl 50 by which point I will have maxed the crafting available and the pvp at best is lackluster. Discovery: only discovery possible in the game is in the crafting system. This could be improved if each lvl of an item indicated if there was more to discover. IE a green item should have a number indicating how many blues it could proc into to include quality lvls. I could go on but this covers my main points of inters I look for in a game. So SWTOR has only 1 of the 4 items I was looking for. Would you be happy if you bought a care and only got 25% of the vehicle? The game is them park crap and no mater how you try to defend it its not going to change the facts. Heck that 100,000,000 could have fed every starving kid in Africa for a year or more.
  3. First one is so far away it doesn't even have a webpage yet I have ME 1 and 2 and 3 will be just a much a joke as the first two. Oh I will buy ME3 though 4 months after release when it is for sale on steam for $10.
  4. This is a subject near and dear to my heart and the simple fact is no MMO produced in the past 10 years has done anything unique, extraordinary, innovative. They are all the same except for new, shinier graphics but the basic simple primitive mechanics have not changed and will not change until we the money spenders stop buy crap. There is only one game I know of that I found truly interesting and it had features like: 1) territory ownership 2) super complex player driven economy. 3) Totally skill based development. 4) complex geopolitical social system 5) highly complex trad skill system 6) complex guild structure and control system 7) complex nation alliance system 8) complex territory control and management system 9) quality endgame player crafted gear 10 fabulous pvp system 11) best of all there were not character lvls. 120 open world pvp only( no BS instanced canned pvp in arenas and BGs0 This game was designed for the hard core gamer the ones who could form communities, motivate its members and work together as a whole more than individuals. I was never able to find a group of people like this and playing the game solo just didn't work for me and the death penalty was to harsh when playing alone. If the game I am thinking of( can you gues it) was to ever make the jump to a traditional style mmo it would blow everyone away with its amazing qualities.
  5. You are obviously correct...YOU SHOULD start at lvl 50 on day 1. YOu should get full epic gear too so you can go pawn the newbs in the starter zones.
  6. After looking at more of the review info on the site i have linked I think the Radeon 5870 should be fine for this game but the game and the drivers for this card are not optimized to one another. I know this game pushed my comp harder than anything i have ever played before. Maybe this is why.
  7. This game deff pushes my comp harder than anything before ever has. Maybe this will help with that.
  8. I ran task manager once while playing the game and I found I was using upwards of 90% of my 4 gigs of ram and same for my processor which is an AMD duel core 5700 series 2.7ghz black edition (not overclocked). I also noticed my cpu fan kicking into overdrive in this game and that has never happened before. My MB will upgrade to a quad core so i am going to upgrade the processor and get more ram. before I get a new vid card to see if it runs better. I also noticed my bios is old and needs an update which i would have to do for the quad core proc anyway so I'll do that too.
  9. I run a 5870 my vid settings are all as low as they will go and I get 15-30 fps and in my view this is lousy fps. I have done the res trick numerous times and it didn't help at all. Admittedly the game runs on the 5870 not at all top notch. There is allot jitter when moving fast like in pvp. I think you need a bare minimum of 30 fps to compete in pvp.
  10. The 5800 series vid cards are old tech for games coming out now. Might be a good time and excuse to upgrade. Go to http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2011-gaming-graphics-charts/benchmarks,123.html this is a good break down on allot of graphics cards and how they perform. I've used this site for going on 10 years to get mostly unbiased info comp parts and what not. When I bought my 5870 it was not top shelf but it was better than mid range. Its still a good vid card. It may not have the uuumpf it needs for this game. I'll include my comp specs tonight after work.
  11. I would strongly recomend you go to http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2011-gaming-graphics-charts/benchmarks,123.html and review for your vid card. This site does allot of reviews and such and has been a staple on my bookmarks for 10+ years now. I will say this match your chipset on the processor, motherboard and vid card.
  12. I just wan an option to turn the gibberish off. I feel like I'm being duped, cheated every time i hear it and it makes me mad. If i could turn it off I would not be inclined to cancel my sub every time i hear it.
  13. The first few quests i did were kinda cool I liked the voice overs up to the point i started hitting missions with gibberish for voices. Makes me think they half assed it cause it was taking to long and to much work to do all the voice work for every quest. Gibberish voice over are crap and might as well not be there Give the option to turn that crap off or take it out of the game completely. It was a waist of time to bother if you ask me.
  14. I think your codex will show an entry for every datacron you get. I know it does for the History ones. Codex is accessed through your mission log codex tab I currently have 8 datacrons
  15. I think its awesome that crafting is lvl independent. I like the idea of being able to be lvl 1 and crafting lvl 50 gear "if i wanted to" It is obviously more profitable to be higher lvl to use more crew members but I am not forced to lvl just to craft. Crafting is the one and only thing keeping me in the game right now.
