lol...someone earlier accused me of making bad analogies. I wonder if they're still around reading yours. Nobody attacked you because you were reasonable and so was Mcdonalds. You didn't swear off eating there again, tell them what terrible customer service they have, or cry that this was the only chance your friend was ever going to have to ever eat at McDonalds and now their experience is forever ruined! Bioware made a mistake. The first step was controlling it, which they've done. They also happen to have a distribution tonight to still handle. They have a few things going on. I'm sure they'll take care of those affected. As far as the fanboy comment, I just work in support for a large scale software distribution, so I understand how things don't always go as planned.

Did you scream at the manager for making the mistake? Did you get mad that all they did was resolve the issue and not give you extra cool stuff as restitution? Soooo Bioware should schedule it's mistakes around your schedule better next time? The "well it didn't happen to many of you" is probably true, relative to the total number of subscribers they have. Forum complaints is not an accurate measure of impact. In sum, get over it. It's some MMO downtime. It happens. A lot.

It is irrelevant. Like in my analogy, people are still experiencing disruption, still mad that they don't get the entertainment they wanted, and still going to get that entertainment, just not at the time they anticipated. And like my analogy, life will go on, and rainbows will still appear after the storm. Would people be less pissed if the login servers were all broken today?

I'm not a BW employee, but this was probably a scheduled distribution. Somebody probably put 11:59am instead of 11:59pm or something like that. It's a simple error, easily overlooked, and they did their best to contain the damage. But it wasn't without casualties. Oops. Mistakes happen.

Once, I when I was a kid, I was reallllly looking forward to this tv show. It was gonna be great. I planned my week around it. And it thunderstormed and my power went out. And I didn't get to see the show. I was really mad. But the problem was fixed as quick as possible, and I eventually got to see the show re-aired. Also, life went on and it turned out the tv show wasn't really all that important in the grand scheme of things. The end.

But how can you complain about the customer service before we even know what they're going to do? Maybe in a few hours we hear that they'll make those items available. Kinda gotta wait to see how the rest of the situation is handled, right?

50 cents is your compensation. 1 days credit. Enjoy! What if the server just crashed and you couldn't play today? Things happen. They aren't just giving you 2 options because they're being jerks. It's because there's only 2 ways to fix it. What other options do you want? You want them to go back in time and create a backup program? Good luck with that.

Dude. Have you ever made a mistake? Ever? It happens. They fixed the problem as quick as they could, and unfortunately, there's some collateral damage. What do you want them to do about it? They can't magically make a "fix it" program by tomorrow. They apologized, and told everybody what the situation is. Ok...accept and move along. I'm sure you'll get your 50 cents credit.

A sloppy MMO patch release? Man...that's gotta be a first. I'm not counting on being able to play the game smoothly for a few days at least. Just the nature of the patch cycle. Having it release 12 hours early is pretty funny though. I'm guessing it was a scheduled distribution and somebody put 12pm intead of am, which is hilarious, but oh well. Play something else today if you have to. It happens.

I choose the personality of my character at the beginning and try to roll with it, regardless of my companions opinions. If they don't agree with me, that's their issue. Mako is not a happy camper with me. Which brings up the question, why do two of the empire classes have starting companions that don't like dark side choices? Meanwhile the Republic starting companions are all goody-goody's that are fine with all the heroic choices. So much for BW favoring the empire!
