  7. Now you're changing the analogy. The original guy was being reasonable, and commending the McDonald's manager for being reasonable. So essentially you're trying to win the argument by changing it. Internet argument foul! In all seriousness, that's why it was a bad analogy to begin with. McDonalds and an MMO developer/service provider have zero similarity.

  9. lol...someone earlier accused me of making bad analogies. I wonder if they're still around reading yours. Nobody attacked you because you were reasonable and so was Mcdonalds. You didn't swear off eating there again, tell them what terrible customer service they have, or cry that this was the only chance your friend was ever going to have to ever eat at McDonalds and now their experience is forever ruined! Bioware made a mistake. The first step was controlling it, which they've done. They also happen to have a distribution tonight to still handle. They have a few things going on. I'm sure they'll take care of those affected. As far as the fanboy comment, I just work in support for a large scale software distribution, so I understand how things don't always go as planned.
  10. Did you scream at the manager for making the mistake? Did you get mad that all they did was resolve the issue and not give you extra cool stuff as restitution? It's reasonable to be mad about a mistake. But there's a lot of internet RAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE going on here that's over the top ridiculous.
  11. Out of what....1.7 million subscribers? so we're looking at less than 1% of the subscriber base maybe affected?
  12. Soooo Bioware should schedule it's mistakes around your schedule better next time? The "well it didn't happen to many of you" is probably true, relative to the total number of subscribers they have. Forum complaints is not an accurate measure of impact. In sum, get over it. It's some MMO downtime. It happens. A lot.
  13. It is irrelevant. Like in my analogy, people are still experiencing disruption, still mad that they don't get the entertainment they wanted, and still going to get that entertainment, just not at the time they anticipated. And like my analogy, life will go on, and rainbows will still appear after the storm. Would people be less pissed if the login servers were all broken today?
  14. I'm not a BW employee, but this was probably a scheduled distribution. Somebody probably put 11:59am instead of 11:59pm or something like that. It's a simple error, easily overlooked, and they did their best to contain the damage. But it wasn't without casualties. Oops. Mistakes happen.
  15. Doesn't matter. Either way I didn't get to see the show. The reason is irrelevant.
