Yep, trying to validate... SWG was a bag of crap as were most of your titles you mentioned. Been playing MMO's online since Asherons call. I have also tried many new titles since then. Doesn't make ToR any less of WoW + Space. Hell, even Rift has a few unique designs.... Name 1 thing ToR has that is unique to the genre? Other than the ability to screw your companion...

Rift is better than ToR on many points... ToR spent all of their money paying actors, while Trion spent it developing the game. Rift = WoW+GW and a few unique features ToR= WoW in space

What engine they used is irrelevant, fool. I believe they even went as far as a near direct copy/paste on abilities for a few classes. This game has nothing, nothing,and nothing compared to what UO was back in the day. Sorry it hurts your tender feelings, but this game is a direct copy/paste of WoW in it's current form.

That explains it.. Most of those games are post WoW and/or attempted to copy/paste WoW in some form. No wonder why you enjoy ToR considering it is a futuristic carbon copy of WoW.

Long winded whine... funny. Why a company (BW) would basically copy/paste a game 10yrs old and expect it to NOT be dull is beyond me. For as pathetic as WoW turned out, it was still a breathe of fresh air compared to the other MMO's that were out at that time (Ex - EQ2). ToR on the other hand has brought NOTHING new to the genre, nothing. WoW in space. Enjoy!

Pretty much sums it all up right here. Except you forgot to add in 1 unique feature that ToR proudly can claim as its own: You can now screw a companion. That is all they have. Everything else is either a copy/paste or lack luster in nature.

Cross server PvP may have no choice but to go in, unless they merge servers. or offer FREE transfers ASAP. On Kinrath there isn't enough people on most times to support an opposing team if an 8 man team Q'ued up. Repubs are a rare breed, and on the Imp side we are lucky to see 20 people on in fleet. How long before the same 2 teams get tired of facing each other? EA blew it, period. They had the resubs to give RWZ's a go until they axed them prior to 1.2. I am not sure the anally sore people will trust them again.

LOL, if they were really trying to kill the game expacks would be the way.. I couldn't imagine the grief that would ensue had the players needed to pay for them.

I have never tried Rift, so maybe I will go there as I wait for GW2. I was thinking of going back to a UO private, or back to project visitor for a month, but I am always up for new games to check out. Thanks for the tip!

Done. My last forum post will be on 6/02. WoW was dull for me, and this game is a carbon copy. Not much creativity in this game. I think the only 'new' MMO concept in this game is you get to screw your companion... woopie.

Well, obviously they feel the have the fan support to bypass mergers/transfers for another patch or it would be in... Hmm, GW2 is looking better each and every time one of the devs speak, IMO.

My main is an Imp on Kinrath, what a sad server that is. So sad, I rerolled on Jung Ma. Nothing like logging in to see 14 people in fleet at prime time, heh.

Jung Ma seems to be the reroll server, other than Fatman, to goto. It is fairly balanced between repubs and imps and usually is quite active. I would transfer my main there but we all know how that will end up, and I refuse to pay for a move.

Not sure if ToR could handle that level of FUN. 8v8 seems to be where the EPIC PvP is at these days.......

I rolled there but after seeing 45min Que times just to get on the server I decided it isn't worth the wait.
