  1. If you're in a group then just have someone in your group res you. If you're just solo leveling you have no excuse for dying more than once a week. Your group had to be unbelievably bad to wipe in a heroic 4. It was just random bad luck and will probably never happen again. Heroics are pretty facerollable.
  2. Healer? Combat support cell. Gunnery? Armor piercing cell. Assault specialist? Plasma cell. All three trees have talents that benefit specific cells so basically it's based on what tree you went down.
  3. Well, we also have a PBAOE knockback/snare, but it's pretty meh.
  4. Except for the part where his lack of tanking skills means he has the same or less armor than a DPS or healer. At the moment I have 3% more armor than my forex and I'm wearing half greens and half blues. I'm cybertech so forex is in nothing but blues. Despite outgearing me, I still take a hit better than him as a healer. Way better than him if you include reactive shield.
  5. Balance is balance. It makes no difference whether it's PvP or PvE. If one DPS class does more damage than the others that's equally imbalanced for both. If one class has too much CC compared to other classes of the same role that's not good news for PvE either. Do you want to be turned down for a spot in a group for not being the OP class?
  6. Well mop it up because the actual games using the engine will look nowhere near that good.
  7. Nothing good ever results from outsourcing. This is a real problem in the game industry and one of many things that other industries have considered common knowledge for ages, but game developers have no clue about. Read this article for a good explanation of just how pervasive extended crunch time is and how counterproductive it actually is. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/05/the-death-march-the-problem-of-crunch-time-in-game-development.ars
  8. Learn about the feature, THEN criticize it. That's the order these two things need to happen in. That's not more species. It's the same species as before. All it does is make the (already mirrored) classes even less diverse than they were already. I agree with you it's a really stupid move.
  9. If they added microtransactions I'd quit the game. I'm already paying a subscription. I'm not going to pay twice. Microtransactions are only okay in free to play games, but even then they usually end up costing far more than a sub for you to still get less than you would with a subscription game. TLDR: F2P can go back to Korea and subscription games shouldn't double dip. And Bioware has enough PR problems already with that ME3 DLC controversy.
  10. You're doing it wrong. I haven't had any problems with the jumping. As for #1, that's a common problem that I've experienced in almost every game with platforming starting with the original Mario Brothers. You're trying to jump while you're too close to the edge. So why do you keep running forward? If you actually tried to learn from your mistakes you would have realized after the first time that you have to jump first, then move forward. If you jump while stationary and then move you go forward barely enough to get onto the platform. You get no sideways movement that way.
  11. Mac doesn't have less viruses because it's more secure. It has less viruses because nobody wants to make software for a platform with only 10.7% market share, not even hackers. It has less viruses because it has less of ALL software, and no iphone apps don't count.
  12. Try doing bonus objectives and heroics. If that doesn't work do some space missions, flashpoints or PvP. I'm having the opposite problem. I had to skip two planets except for the story quests because they were too low for me.
  13. Preorder/collectors editions never give anything useful. It's always just little knickknacks to show off to people that you spend more on the game than them or started playing sooner. In the rare event something is useful (such as the preorder crystal) it's only useful at low levels. Another example is the preorder sword in Pirates of the Burning Sea. What were you expecting?
  14. And that's why implementing it was a total waste of time. Not only is it stupid, but it doesn't really help you to make up for it either. Don't the devs have more important things to do than useless stuff like this?
  15. The only one that looks decent is the trooper. The others are horrible. Why does the smuggler's helmet have wheels? Why did they hire H.R. Geiger to design the inquisitor armor? The agent appears to be cosplaying Scorpion from Mortal Combat. Why did they glue skis to that poor knight's arms? This armor makes my eyes bleed. Fixed.
  16. About 30% of the time I leave one of those green quest forcefields while mouse steering I get randomly turned around backwards. Is that what you're talking about?
  17. I'd like them to remove the whole legacy system and focus on adding new content and fixing the bugs I reported in beta that still aren't fixed instead of trying to force me to make alts.
  18. True story. That's how SWG stayed alive so long.
  19. If his highness can't spare 5 seconds of his precious time to check the guild website then the guild is better off without him. You should be kicking for refusal to check the guild site once in a while already. Guild mail isn't needed. It's a tool that does an inferior version of something guilds have already been doing for ages without in-game tools. Also, if you can't keep track of people joining, leaving and being kicked, maybe you should stop spam inviting every single person you see. One quality member is quite literally worth 20 random invitees.
  20. If it's in every MMO but this one how come I can't think of one that has it? Sounds like the kind of thing Eve would have, but I can't remember if it did or not.
  21. Yes it does. There are no ninjas in Star Wars and TOR is already looking too much like WoW as it is without adding kung fu pan....I mean ewoks. The set he's talking about literally has a gold plated samurai helmet.
  22. None of it. SWG was by far the worst AAA game ever made. The one and only half decent thing it had going for it was the crafting. The content updates were almost nonexistent. That wouldn't have been as bad if the sandbox elements weren't also severely lacking. The balance was a joke. Half the people in the game were macroing classes for holocrons instead of actually playing the game. The devs were pathological liars, not to mention that some of the stuff they did was straight up fraud. SWG spawned the term "solo group", 'nuff said about that. You could literally kill yourself from shooting your gun too much. Jedi were god mode. The game crapped all over canon constantly. It was super buggy and very poorly optimized. All the towns were ghost towns where 95% of the buildings were owned by people who haven't logged in for a year because the devs refused to make maintenance fees actually matter. Doctor buffs were mandatory. You had to wait 50 years for shuttles. I could make this list go on for 50+ pages if I wanted. There's literally not one single thing the game did right other than crafting.
  23. WoW had by far the worst armor designs I've ever seen. This please. I don't think it's too much to ask for my character in a Star Wars game to actually look like someone from Star Wars. And remove the stupid red glow from force choke. Force choke doesn't glow.
  24. Because that and UI mods are the last two things they didn't copy from WoW and they're not doing UI mods.
