  1. Over a year and a half later - still does this all the time. Would like an update if they ever plan on fixing this or not.

    lol bolster

Anyone that thinks this is a good thing is obviously not playing in the warzones. Can someone honestly say that the developers, as a design decision, want people to not wear their armor? That's insane. Right now, if I wear my normal clothes, I will be playing at a disadvantage. In order to compete, we have to be naked. You reward behavior that you want to see in the game - so, the devs want us to walk around without clothes? I doubt it. Anyone that is saying this is a good idea is either not doing the PVP themselves ( and not seeing the nakedness ) or has their head just so far up the sunshine hole that they can't see when something is blatantly broken. Fix your PvP, please. Don't make me regret re-subbing.
  3. Loved this post. Would rather see Bioware say something about the broken status of their game. Oh well. I think we all know how that goes. =\

    Roleplay?

Well, get in a better habit of asking for help or info when you need it! I just came back after a long hiatus and I'm still finding the RP hotspots, but if you're game for RP, there are a bunch of ways to get into it. Here are three - 1 - Ask around for RP guilds. These are the best for starters because they give you a backdrop and a cast of people in which to draw experience from. Ask in general chat who the RP guilds are if you don't know. The RP guilds don't generally mind you asking in this way, either. It's /say that should stay in character ( IC ) 2 - Walking is a HUGE sign for RPers. If you turn on walk and start walking around, people will identify you as an RPer. 3 - Join a custom RP channel. On Jung Ma, the channel is "RP". So, you would type in, "/cjoin RP". This is where some of us RPers have a mutual channel in which to let others know about RP events that are going on ( or just to ask where something MAY be happening ). Most RPers are nice people, so just ask around. The SW universe is pretty big as it is. Good luck!
  5. Possible... but then again you have less than 20 people on fleet. On my pc, I get 100+ unless people show up. On The Fatman, my FPS drops down to about 30, but that's with 230 people. I would love to see it ever more optimized, though.
  6. Wow... this person comes on here with a valid gripe and you guys all attack him as if he's frothing at the mouth and screaming bloody murder. After, you say that they have a high stress level? Wow. If the servers went down 15 minutes early and I was in the middle of a dungeon area, I would be miffed, too. Is it life shattering? No. Is it poor timing with negative consequences that should be pointed out to the company in the only way known? Absolutely! Any of us would have been a little peeved if this happened to us. All of you people complaining about the trolls have become what you despise most.
  7. If they charge me a dime, I will be unsubbing immediately.
  8. To clarify - "We're talking about what we should be explaining to people when we decide it's time to tell people what we need to be working on as far as transfers." How does a team work on a blog? Here - I'll give you your first lesson on how to start working your way up to thinking about maybe, possibly... UGH.. You just write it. Why is it so hard to just communicate with your playerbase? Why do you need to 'work on it'?
  9. Bioshock was developed by Irrational, not Bioware. Also, you're talking about waiting for the finished product? The finished product was released 7 months ago after years and hundreds of millions of dollars. How much more time should we give them? 5 years? 10?
  10. I understand what you're saying. What we're saying is that we all felt that way when we were in your shoes, too! It's kinda like an adult telling a teenager about highschool - they've been there, done that. The teenager usually responds with, "You don't know how it is for me!" Then, years later, they are the adult trying to talk sense into a teenager. Your feelings on the game after a week are natural and wonderful! I hope you get years and years of enjoyment out of it. However, saying that patience is needed when you have shown none seems a bit silly. When you've been 50 for a month or so, let us know how you feel then. Or don't... more than likely, most of us won't be here anymore.
  11. The Devs for this game have lied before... I mean - straight up lied to our faces. You think they wouldn't do it again?
  12. "Have patience! I like it and I played a whole week!" Umm...
  13. Wow... some people really enjoy skewing the numbers to their advantage. 1.7 million subs down to 1.3, losing 400,000 - a loss of around 24%. This was done in three months. At this same rate of decline, you would be looking at less than 750,000 total subs by the 9 month mark ( which would not be considered a 'huge success' ). These numbers for Q4 are for Jan, Feb, and Mar - long before 1.2. Well, I don't know if you guys didn't hear the playerbase talking, but 1.2 kinda ticked a lot of people off ( especially on the pvp side of things ) and most people that I know and read about cancelled directly after. Keep in mind that most of these people that cancelled will also be getting the free 30 days, so even though they are not currently playing, the system will still show them having an account in good standing. It's falsely bloating the numbers. They can give everyone the next year free and say that they never lost any subs, but are they really making any money off of them? Most of the people I know of personally and read about on various forums are cancelled - some of them may still have time left on their account, but they have moved on to other things. Why is it so hard for fans of the game to admit the facts? It's not a personal insult to you. Heck - most people like being the few that are 'into' something that not a lot of people enjoy. Why would you take it as a personal insult that so many people are leaving the game you like? We're not saying that you're not good people or smart or anything... just the facts - more people are leaving everyday than are joining. SW is losing players and even this financial report doesn't try to gloss it over. Financial report -"Things aren't looking good - here are the numbers." Forum poster - "Look at these numbers! Things are wonderful and successful!" Are we looking at the same things here, people?
  14. It's the players' faults? Are you serious?! Yes - tell all of the people to slow down so they can pay more to enjoy your product. Tell them they are 'playing the game wrong'. This makes no sense. If they really expected players not to powerlevel through the 1-50 in a matter of weeks, they had no place making an MMO.
  15. Ok... like I said - I still enjoy certain moments of TOR and my levelling experience was a ( mostly ) good one, so if you think you're talking to a 'hater', you're mistaken. TOR, as a strictly single player game, is a really bad one. Hear me out - It is purposefully meted out in very long, arduous segments that are there to simulate the size of the world ( orbital stations that serve NO purpose whatsoever, planets that increase in size exponentially when you get a speeder, etc ). About 30% of the missions ( if not more ) are useless by yourself ( heroics ). Character choice has little to no impact on the story - what little bit it changes is usually one line in a conversation, after which the npcs continue in their usual programmed response. Even compared to Baldur's Gate, this game ( as a single player experience ) is shallow and unrefined. Pretty, but vapid. Again, I say that those that say that their server population is good, you're either lying, delusional, or you are one of the lucky ones. To most of us, the population is so far down, it makes the game look like a ghost town. Add to that the lack of 50 content, the missing ranked warzones, and the overall lack of polish? By the time they start fixing things, it will be too late. I want to like this game more and continue to play. They have dropped the ball big time. Nowadays, being stagnant when your game is floundering is not acceptable - there are too many other options out there. I hope I'm wrong and this game ends up kicking butt. I wouldn't bet on it, though. I just thought that this sig was so funny - and true.
  16. I think it's funny when people that are playing the game say that there isn't a population problem. I am still subbed, just got done doing EV tonight, and I can tell you - there is definitely a population problem - so much so that the powers that be have noticed. I won't sit here and verbally spar with anyone that is convinced that the numbers are still the same or increasing - you're either lying, deluding yourself, or you are on the one server that doesn't have a problem ( Fatman ). Some interesting things I saw while reading this whole diatribe. Boy - it's a good thing you're playing an MMO. As a single player game, this would really suck, wouldn't it? You mentioned it in your own post - Star Trek Online. I personally don't care for the ground combat, but they both worked effectively at launch. I love this - you admit that SW:TOR is bad.
  17. Yeah, don't mind this guy. He's just a troll, obviously.
  18. As one of the guildies that is leaving the game soon, I can say that these are good ideas, to an extent. Space combat is hastily thrown in and doesn't have anything to do with the game whatsoever. Does anyone remember X-wing, Tie Fighter? These games implemented open space combat, pvp, and travel between missions - and it was done over 15 years ago. It has become more and more apparent to me that there are too many things that need to be changed, not enough conversation happening from BW's camp, and the few things that are getting changed are being done poorly ( crashes, imbalancing, etc ). It's kind of like a sinking ship - there are too many holes for me to try and plug, and the moment I see the crew of the ship basically standing around not doing or saying anything, I know it's time to look for something else. I'm sorry, but even if all of your ideas were put into the game ( which, you should understand, will never happen ), it would not be enough.
  19. Yeah, on our side we didn't really know much about it until it was starting. We've talked it over and hopefully for the next one, we can all get a bit more involved. Either way - it should be fun and I'm looking forward to it! ( Even if BW doesn't give us a reason to get involved in these large-scale events, we'll just make our own, huh guys? )
  20. You guys seriously dropped the ball on this one. Now, because of no error on our part, we can't play the game until tomorrow ( and even then, after a huge download ) unless we download 12 gigs. What about those people ( like my 64 year old father ) that have really restricted internet packages and speeds? You have screwed him out of the game.... For a company trying to impress people and keep customers - you screwed up. Whoever was in charge of this should be fired.
  21. I think mine is posted on the side... you know... right next to my avatar.
