  1. You might find buying a security key FOB or downloading the free smartphone app cheaper.
  2. Updated OP with link talking about Valve starting up a system to use players to be "crowdsourced" to ban cheaters.
  3. ANY system at all can be abused. The question is, is this one (or something like it) better than what we have now? On one hand it is hard to say - the current process is a black box. This one allows us to have more transparency & be more involved. Both are reasons I wanted to present it to suggestions.
  4. I compleatly agree with OP's idea. The only place this might get twitchy is PvP. But that isn't to say I'm against the idea for PvE or PvP.
  5. What more does anyone want out of the game? More fun, more content, more gear (both stat wise and looks)... Etc Not having to raid doesn't completely answer the issue. I personally log in very early (or late) I see the fleet mostly at as low as 10 to 50 on avg. sometimes it is just not possible with my free time to get a FP. Double if I'm on one of my DPSers. I craft, I PvP, I run the dailies, I go to bed. I'm not trying to say my issues are by any means the norm.
  6. ^THIS^ (but not the unsub) Some of you talk about if you aren't raiding you don't "need" it. While this is strictly true, it fails to take in account the lack of PvE carrot for people who solo (or duo like myself). When I have all the best I can get but know there is more - you think that wouldn't bother you? What harm would come from a few (very few) endgame Comms being obtainable for non raiders? Let it take eons to farm the Comms to get the gear, I don't care about that. But to know that I am still making progress... That is what will bring me back for more. (And before anyone goes there I have 10 characters, 8 are 50+), why? Because as I slowing grind out what end game gear I can get, I get bored. You want more content, I want more too.
  7. Yeah someone else posted the same effect up on one of the forums a few days ago. If I recall correctly a mod already responded to it. But just in case, you might want put this up on the Customer Service forum.
  8. I can only guess at this idea on that level, but I'll be happen to kick the can around: Names could (and should) be redacted. A tribulal might be for a server other than the one it's "judges" are on, or open to the entire player base. - not to mention it would only take one person in the guild to report that this is going on (next on the block THAT guilds leaders) Would things like this help fix these kinds of collusion?
  9. I love the PvP combat, I hate the attitudes. Some would rather waste time writing berating a member of there own team, than deal with the situation as it is. Even the greenest on a PvP team can serve as a meat shield. But having one (debatably) good player sitting there typing at someone else isn't helping anything. They aren't teaching anything. And are just more likely to make my team lose.
  10. Given you can search the GTN by stat, but "useable by" still seems broken, I think this a good idea ahead of it's time.
  11. Along the same lines Thorsen (spl?) outpost on Tat gets raided by Imps weekly.
  12. While I agree with you in premise... You are asking them to make 2 ops at once, since just making one for a single faction (likely imp) would make the other howl. Given the time they take to make a single op used by both sides... I doubt they can do 2 (of any merit) at the same time within the 6-8 window.
  13. It's just the opening run, there will be more choices over time. There is no need for an explicit "2nd dye slot" if all combinations are eventually use as it is set up now.
  14. Yeah they could. But I would rather see more clothes closer to this time (see tOR comics) long before being inspired by something 3000 years in the future.
  15. A nice idea. Fear of collusion is the strongest counter I can contrive right now. Admittedly that same issue is present in current match as is.
  16. As you should well know, the Dev's always seem afraid of taking a possition that they can't guaranty. I think this is typically why we only hear about things late in development - and the reasoning behind Eric occasionally saying (paraphrased:) "as long as you don't hold us to this, here is early info." They seem to fear backlash, and we are hard pressed (yet still pull it off!) to be upset over early info/plans. God forbid stuff changes after they say something!
  17. While I'm sure the option would be nice (options always are), but I'll have to agree with everyone above. To chance mid story - romance options, and all the flags within are likely prohibitive.
  18. Here is where I am coming from: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/05/using-science-to-reform-toxic-player-behavior-in-league-of-legends/ Update: now valve is doing something like Riot with counter strike http://kotaku.com/valve-has-crowdsourced-banning-cheaters-in-counter-stri-509538262?utm_source=recirculation&utm_medium=recirculation&utm_campaign=afternoon Many in the community take issue with the ticket system - to the point some are unwilling to even bother with it anymore (thanks T0-M0! Who is likely many people anyway). While it is unbecoming to remotely try to talk for the community as a whole (and sorry to those who disagree in advance) I think the ends are worth it. We need a better way of addressing player "bad manners". /ignore only goes so far, and far more than once cheating in PvP, racism/sexism/whatever-ism, or just whatever reported SEEMS to go unpunished by the powers that be. I more than understand why you (BW) can't go into details of "offenders" - The actions taken, and the reasons for the actions not taken. However, I think (and I hope you do to) a larger role of the community in such things would only benefit you, SWTOR itself, and the community. Maybe I'm drunk, maybe I'm insane, but this game is something I love. I got my wife to join. My friends (though more than a few have left), and I continue to push it on any who might listen. I know you guys (all of Bioware's SWTOR team) have a lot on your plates. Updates, current issues, and old issues to deal with. I simply ask you take the time to read about what Riot has learned. Adding content is VERY IMPORTANT, and adding ways to monetize the game is too (even if it feels like you do a bit too much of it from time to time), but surely you can see the more you allow us to be trusted, care about us, hear us... You can't do much wrong*. Thanks. *this: for Eric, amber and the other forum jockeys especially.
  19. I know this is a bit late to the debate, but for what it is worth at this point... I had a friend tweet Drew Karpyshyn a few days ago to ask his thoughts on the matter (I don't do twitter). The question was basicly what he thought about the difference in Revan's clothes per/post 300 year nap. @DrewKarpyshyn That's more of an art question, and I'm not really an art guy. But 300 years have passed, so maybe he changed clothes? #SWTOR 12:16 PM - 12 May 13
  20. I have as well. It's a good thread. There is no reason they can't "add value" to the cartel unlock. -each race comes with a cartel pack (or fancy item/pet) -2 or more "re-skin" races in the unlock -some other addition to the purchase to make it more tempting
  21. /signed Either let me place it instantly or no channel to use. 2min cool down is fine, if I USED IT a not just placed and timed out.
  22. I would be happy to have the event return. They were having players gather gifts for the gree's coming. The gree come now every so often, so there is no reason the chevin wouldn't want a new batch of gifts. The story part might need some tweaking, but as we never really did find out why the chevin are giving the gifts, the story can remain largely intact.
  23. And I LoLed hard @ this. Back on topic: We don't know enough about the process of cloning. We don't know how much if any brain scanning while alive is needed. We don't know what levels (if any) of cellular decay is acceptable to have a viable clone. We have very limited information as to the process (it's needs and limits) and frankly can't put to much faith even in what we do know. Only the movies are given the top tier of "cannon-hood" with the books and then comics often being retconed as needed. The gist of what we can reasonably say; Thrawn clones - force user = unstable AotC troops - madalorian's can be mass produced Starkiller clones - stable force using clones (mostly sets the stage for...) Retcon Emperor clones - the SWTOR emperor 2.0 Additional: Fluid filled cylinders are involved (sparti? Something like that) Rates of growth and gene tweaking is possible with process Error rates exist EDIT: it sucks to be bevel lemlisk - some type of recollection up to death can be done ???? Profit? <shrug>
  24. Honestly, the only time I've personally had something even remotely like "hate" has been in this thread. At least that I am aware of. Thanks for the concern, but "hate" isn't my reason for asking for this extension of ignore. I am trying to leave my personal reasons why out of this, and focus just on the merits of implementation. It was just meant to be a minor tweak with no real negatives. It harms no one who uses it or doesn't use it - at least not anything more than ignore does in the first place.
