  1. Class balance was fair at the start, just one caster really out of wack, and AoEs were way unbalanced, none of the balance issues were really resolved but pvp was still fun. Open world pvp failed completely. It was all about who ever had a serf at at a particular time of day. So thing were traded off every day. But worse, because or faction imbalances capitals were regularly crushed without a fight. They had great ideas but you simply can not balance two factions for open world pvp, one side always has a numbers advantage and that's all that matters. Their instances pvp was lots of fun though, and the few times big open world fights started it was a blast. But sadly class balance got farther and fartjer apart imo, that and the population issues made me quit a game I otherwise loved completely. That being said, I have no faith in mythic now, but its also not likely to even be the same people now on swtor. Edit: regarding you asking another if you thought this was a repeat. I would say no, class balance is actually really good here, but then swtor has true mirrors, WAR had mirror-like classes. But the pvp in swtor is an after thought, the limited content, terrible ilum, and bad reward system all so they put almost no time and money into pvp.
  2. Truth. My fresh 50 Iron Fist with only cent gear, not even all cent, can still hit 100k damage and 40-60k prot. With proper gear I see no problem getting 300k.
  3. Actually one flaw the OP is his rock/paper/scissors. Tanks beat dps, they can mitigate long enough to win. Healers beat tanks, they tanks don't have enough damage surpass heals. Dps beat healers, they have the burst to out damage heals. But anyway, pure tanks have never been good.in pvp, because you simply ignore them. You use cc to separate the tank and healer then kill the healer. Since pure tanks don't have enough damage to really effect anyone no reason to do much with them. That's not to say they aren't important, you still want that external mitigation for the squishies, and the cc. But for pvp hybrid builds are obviously superior, and the biggest key is you don't play a tank the same way in pvp as you would pve. Guard is great and all, but you also have to be offensive, sometimes guarding dps is better then guarding the healed. You want to push the attack and drive enemies away from their support. Actually that's one problem with swtor tanks, no kb. They viewed kb in a Differnt light then say WAR, there we had lots of utility with a kb but only healers/dps have them in swtor. But you can still use pulls, roots on charges etc, to separate enemy groups. Just have to play differently in pvp, but hybrid are better then pure tank.
  4. Lol, guessing you've never seen 3-4 guys leap onto one target. I have many a time, that's instant resolve for your ranged, just for a root. And since its a root not a stun they instantly knockback and they are clear and have a full resolve bar. So yeah it equaly benefits both.
  5. No problem. Because as I just said snares and roots allow melee damage just as often as they prevent it. You knockback with added snare/root, so I can't meleez you. I leap with root so you can't mites me. It's balanced for both either way, but its better to have roots subject to resolve.
  6. Oh, it was all so obvious! Wait... Hmm, what if the ranged were getting snares/rooted so they couldn't kite the melee? Minor flaw I guess. Roots should be part of resolve, snares I'm a little on the fence about.
  7. Just be ready to stun, root, or snare them when you see them coming. Yoy know it happens why can't you proactively stop it? Besides, easy kill as you watch them plumet to their death.
  8. And how many people intuitively know the minimap is accurate in that fashion, that it doesn't rotate, etc. Because all games are different how they do the minimap and the main map its impossible for it to be intuitive so there is a learning curve, a minor one but still. Look last thing I'm going to say because everyone in these threads is dense as hell. Ask real combat vets how it works, they use all techniques left/right, compass, and landmark. It all depends on the situation, for instance landmark is always best to give detailed location with minimal input. So learn to accept and understand them all, if you can't/won't then you're a badies I never want on my team.
  9. But if you know left/right or east/west well enough to not check you map, then you should be more then experienced enough to remember which side grass/snow are.
  10. Again with this... You people do realize there are lvl 50 craftable oranges right? Not to mention half the time that stuff looks better then the pvp sets anyway. I know for my BH I much prefer the mando armor to looking like I'm wear a bug.
  11. You are correct, but then reading your post, how is left/right or grass/snow any more difficult? They ALL work.
  12. This is exactly why I opt away from east/west in all games, the maps are never consistent from one to another. So while it works just like the others its not as intuitive, the others only take common sense. Which granted, is lacking in many people as well.
  13. Nope, or if they didn't exist, or if the pvp set got them. Any of the above means the cosmetic armor isn't a complete and utter waste... Even though the screwed its design like all the rest, but the coloring looks more interesting. Edit: at least for my BH
  14. I did aim. With Mako heals and slightly higher dps all the content was an easy faceroll. Only the hardest bosses ever got me below 75% HP.
  15. First this hybrid is already known, Iron Fist. Second, it does work in pvp very well. Damage is a tiny bit lower then parakeet but still decent. The shield does prof a fair bit actually, especially when you have a knight/warrior on you. You've got tons of mobility and utility, better survival then a pyro, and come 1.2 a killer interrupt. I ran this build from 10-50 and even in lower gear it worked ok as a fresh 50. But you can 1v1 faster dps easy, can put.enough pressure on healers long enough for your team to make kills, and are all be perfect for hutball.
  16. Simple answer, yes it is BW but its a different studio in the company. BW Austin did not make those games.
  17. Most likely coast will develop with landmark calls like civil war grass/snow. Those are usually the easiest when a map isn't so straight forward. More and more it seems the east/west people are the fools, can't adapt to anything else.
  18. BW has specifically stated it will be tied to the armoring mod, not the slot. Maybe I just misunderstand you, but yes you will be able to transfer the set bonus to another price of gear. Unless they change their.minds.
  19. Have to ask, what's the incentive to do ranked? You realize.you can get War Hero from non-ranked and the ranked is only a recolor of it right?
  20. Sigh... Look they ALL work, if you can't figure them all out you are terrible. Beyond that, why you say/type is just preference/opinion/habit. So enough already. /thread
  21. This is what I don't get, granted this isn't.a.smart change but why is everyone talking about low level oranges? You do.realize there are lvl 50 armors right? Granted there are only like 2 orange sets, but they are there, and honestly they look a hell of a lot better then the cent/champ/BM in many cases.
  22. Interesting considering I've never once complained about it. I don't think there should be a gear difference when it comes to pvp, but I've never once complained about that difference, I just took my lumps. Go ahead and check my post history. Anyway, the point still remains, its a complete lack of attention when the orange gear replaces the rated gear before its even released. Because you can't argue that a recolor has any meaning at all since everyone with any sense will use crit crafted gear. Why don't you argue that point instead of trolling.
  23. For.me its not the.mechanics of getting the gear. The problem is BW were obviously blind to this or they wouldn't have made rated WH just a recolor, its obviously useless in that respect. Now if they miss such an obvious things how can we expect them to get.important matters right? It honestly just shows a real lack of attention to their changes.
  24. Curious as well,.too bad BW doesn't communicate. Will say that was mythical strong point, these things got answered fast.
