  1. Absolutely, 100% agreed. The GM should be able to delegate GB responsibilities as he or she sees fit. It's kind of nutty to have only one single person be able to change permissions/access.
  2. Agreed on using the NS GTN in off-peak hours with both toons parked at a terminal before starting the exchange. I've never had an issue with someone nabbing my items before I was able to transfer them. I've never even seen anyone else at the terminals when I've been there.

    Pvp?

We need more information to provide help. What level are you? You may be gimped by being lower level and therefore having less abilities to be useful in a pvp group. What class/spec are you? Strategies are going to vary widely based on this info. In addition to the PVP forum, check out your class/spec forum for additional tips. Lastly, as a poster stated above, it's all about OBJECTIVES. It can be really boring standing around guarding a turret in Civil War when everyone else is fighting mid-point, but you're performing an important job (just remember to call incoming when it happens!)
  4. nm...misread something, get it now.
  5. You can also /roll to see who gets to be in the group and who has to solo, then rotate the excluded person so everyone gets a chance to play in the group. Hrm, now that I type that out, it seems like a lonely option. lol I like the suggestion to split into two groups and use vent/teamspeak/skype to keep in touch while you travel the galaxy.

    cover

Yes. Real cover provides just that -- real cover as long as you are crouched down. It mitigates 100% of damage (except for damage that can get behind cover, of course). The blue (or red, if you are imp) screen you get when you crouch only mitigates 20% of incoming damage. There are some abilities in certain trees that can increase that amount, but not by a whole lot.
  7. It is really going to come down to your personal preferences as well as your handedness. I happen to be left handed, so I mouse to the left of my keyboard. This means I can use the Num Pad for my keybinds. If you don't mouse left-handed, that will be a difficult adjustment. Most players use the numerical keys at the top of the keyboard. Some switch up their key bindings and use a square like formation on the keyboard (similar to num pad layout) for example: qwe asd zxc can be used to bind your primary abilities. Keep in mind, however, that many keys are already pre-bound so when you are binding make sure you don't lose an important keybind -- like M for map OR make sure you bind that ability to a different key. Hope that helps.
  8. Are you using your Focus generating ability? It's generally the very first ability on your bar when you create your character. Sometimes new players replace it with a more powerful ability, not realizing that the first ability GENERATES focus and the replacement ability USES focus. If your focus generating ability is no longer working for you, you need to fill out a bug report. /bug will open up the window to do that.
  9. Yes, you can continue using your orange gear all the way to end game. Easiest way to get mod upgrades is to select planet commendations as rewards, then exchange them for the highest level mods available when it comes time to leave the planet. This will pretty much keep you well geared for whatever level you are playing. Keep in mind that your orange gear takes on the quality level of the mods you put into it. So if you use green quality mods, you essentially have green gear; blue mods = blue gear; purple mods=purple gear (you won't need purple gear until level 50). There are also some vendors who sell mods, but they are usually green while the commendation mods are always blue. The only mod you'll absolutely have to buy on the GTN (unless you have artifice and can make your own) are crystals for your weapon(s).
  10. As others here have said, every planet has a handful (and some planets more than that) of group intended missions called heroic missions. Use general chat to advertise LFG and put a group together yourself. IME it is easier to find groups for heroics than it is for flashpoints at the lower levels. Are you in a guild? That can also make a difference in group play. And I highly recommend PVP Warzones. If you do several in a row you often end up grouped together with the same people and camaraderie forms. Plus the XP and credit bonuses are decent. I tend to split my leveling half PVE and half PVP each level.
  11. Wow. Those would be a steal on my server. Those prices would only apply to Diplomacy and Investigation missions. Most others mission skills have blues between 5,000 and 9,000 creds and purples between 10,000 and 20,000 creds.
  12. There *is* orange gear out there without class requirements. Check the GTN often for them as they tend to get snapped up quickly. I have to add that, IMO, it's not really necessary to have orange gear on your companion. The companion gear rewards for basic gear are just fine, and you can pick up decent earpieces and implants for them on the GTN. You're better off getting yourself geared with orange pieces so come lvl 50, you can add artifact level mods for automatic purple gear.
  13. Oh, good Lord, this again. It's called a free market. If someone prices too high, items won't sell. If someone prices too low, smarter sellers will buy and relist. As long as you are getting your asking price, you shouldn't care one whit what others choose to do with said item.
  14. Remnants of Surik on Shii-Cho (Republic) is always looking for fun, involved new members. Check out my sig for our recruiting thread and feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
  15. This is a great post, so pay attention!! I'm still leveling and I have slicing, TH & UT, but when I roll an alt I will definitely take up slicking, bio, and scav. It's a great combo and you'll never be lacking for nodes to harvest.
