  1. IDK about through the legacy system, but new races (and possibly classes down the road) are not out of the question.
  2. Any chance you'll expand this to those of us who joined in the first 1 month later?
  3. Back when I was ignorantly sitting in WoW all day, I believed like many of these quitters that other MMOs just sucked. But over the years I've gained more insight into the development of both games and MMOs, plus participated in a few betas (though IDK if I can call my purchase of beta minecraft testing ). The Old Republic is the first MMO made by Bioware. And for their first MMO it's not bad. It has bugs, it's unpolished, it's missing a few features. But I see the devs not cowering, rather fixing things. There's a fix coming soon for the Ilum camping issue, a LF system down the pipe, and Legacy is being implemented. If Bioware can keep up the morale in the studio, I can see this being one of those games that defies expectations and does become successful. No, not a WoW killer, but I don't think 4 million subscribers it out of the question at all once the game is polished. Blizzard made WoW in about 3-4 years. Bioware made ToR in 5. Not too different in timelines. And really, ToR had more launch features than WoW ever did.
  4. Game is new, expect bugs. But look at it this way, in 7 years you can all sit here and talk about how in the "old days" the game was harder and how the kids ruined it.
  5. I accept low quality when that quality is justified. This is the first MMO bioware has made. I played WoW when it was still new. Believe it or not, ToR now is like WoW then. Actually, considering ToR hasn't made the news due to it's bugs, I'd say Bioware is doing a better job.
  6. That person doesn't know what Minecraft is if they think it's in Alpha.
  7. I've found the majority of the angry people fall into one of three groups. 1. KotOR fans - Assumed this would be KotOR3, it wasn't. 2. WoW transfers - Assumed this game would be as polished as WoW, Bioware's first MMO wasn't polished. 3. Noobs - Didn't even know what an MMO was.
  8. Is it wrong that I only just joined today? No?
  9. This has my full support. Windows is quickly falling out of favor with me. And if Windows 8 is out 2 years from now, I'll be moving either to Mac or Ubuntu full time for my computing. It would sadden me to have to drop ToR because Linux support was dropped during beta.
  10. Was gonna make a thread like this. I say yes.
  11. Browsing wookiepedia got me interested. Then I browsed the ToR section at MMO-champion, checked the ToR wiki, and watched some videos. Decided it wouldn't be bad to play alongside WoW.
  12. It can work, provided it's done right. One thing is you need variety. Cramming every 50 into one zone, on already imbalanced servers, will cause issues. Give it time to sift out, and the devs time to crunch the data from the first month and prepare version 1.3
  13. It's not a failure. It's new. ToR has yet to make the news for it's failures. That's something it has over WoW. WoW hit the news for a bug in Zul'Gurub that caused a death epidemic in the cities. ToR just has odd shadow flickers sometimes in animations.
  14. Many people are used to the KotOR RPGs, or older MMOs like SWG and WoW, or even FPS games. They don't understand MMOs are a constant work in progress. Things release bugged because the beta testers never thought to try moving left instead of right. Or unpolished because the devs assumed you wouldn't be looking backwards off the guard tower.
  15. The problem, if you ask me, are a sect of WoW converts. The whiners. They came here expecting the second coming, the first "generation 4 MMO", and the perfect game. Now they are shocked that a new game from a company fairly new to MMOs has bugs and isn't fully polished. And what are they doing, they're whining.
  16. I've seen these images so many times it's amazing. Yes, something needs to be done to make sure Imps don't get into the medcenter.
